That wasn't a house project but you two can go on in your imaginary dream make up world. The answer was on SS forums unless you are banned there. Eighth-Wonder is not a in-house contributor test account.

Most people especially those who are busy shooting, uploading and making money didn't waste time on Shutterstock forum btw.  I posted there for very short time for a few months before I stopped wasting my time engaging with majority trash talkers.
Thanks for reminding me
All those nobody stock contributors hate me.  LOL!!  Whatever.
They got nothing better than ridiculing people.  Useless posters.
They've never started a meaningful thread/conversation.  All they do is to come in and ridicule people.  And then I strike back, they get upset like a little punk.  LMAO!!  Weak.
OK, I "Ignore"d all the garbage posters on this forum now.  Maybe they are the same people I ignore on Shutterstock forum but different username.  lol  I just hope they ignore me as well and stop stalking me like obsessed wackos.
Seems you have problems with many others and no respect.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Selling digital drawings
« on: January 05, 2022, 08:15 »
Does digital drawings sells in stock sites? Or they are better off being uploaded to other sites?

Sounds like something more suited for the NFT market on opensea.io but I'm not sure

Have you or anyone here ever sold a NFT? You have some nutty ideas.

For those who can't remember and claimed on the SS forum, he doesn't have 10,000 images, they are right. "11,026 stock photos, vectors, and illustrations are available royalty-free." it's 11K

11K unique photos? I mean if I have 11K images of the same subject, so technically I have 1 image.

How many unique photos do you have?

Sorry, doesn't work that way. Without him disclosing his total earnings, or you disclosing your total earnings.... all we had to go on from the information provided at that point, is that he's getting a cheeseburger every month by contributing to SS. And you aren't. As a result... he's doing better than you.

So what if you earn more at P5 and Adobe? Maybe he earns more at P5 and Adobe as well? Maybe he earns just as much, if not more, than you at P5 and Adobe so he can dine at your fancy restaurant too... but he also has his cheeseburger to come home to if the fancy portions didn't quite fill the gap.

I see you're offended. If some clips is sold SS it probably wont on Pond5, right? So I sell on the P5 for $ 30 and you on the SS for $ 0.25. That is $29,75 in difference. I see that your knowledge of mathematics is really poor. No big deal, just eat a cheeseburger.  ;D

Clips don't all sell for $ 30 on Pond5 and clips don't all sell for $ 0.25 on SS your argument is false from the start.

OK you hater HodagMedia on Shutterstock forum.  You should work on your photo skill rather than wasting your time posting craps you stupid redneck MFer.

Don't mince your words BLVDONE.  Come out with it.  Say what you really think.  ..

 ;D

Yes, I just want to have people here, see what kind of person he really is. Many have commented and criticized him for his incoherent rants and never ending rubbish, but he's got this personal "thing" for me. Wow, an obsessed angry person, calling me names and personally attacking me, on yet another forum, because I dare to disagree with the mighty Blvdone. Well I'm not going to sink to his childish levels. Just the facts...

He's already banned on SS forums after pushing the limits for a couple months. Maybe he's trying to get banned here too?  8)

Oh and yes, I should be working on improving my photo skills, that's always a good idea for all of us? Always keep improving and learning.

I have no problem anybody disagreeing with me, but you and some others do personal attacks against me.  I'm only rude to those who are rude to me making personal attacks.  I never start attacking people first.  I only react to those who attack me.  So, try being nice and respectful even when you disagree with somebody posting on forums.  Learn to be a better person and a productive part of a society.  That's my advice to you HodagMedia.  I've never ridiculed and attacked others first on those forums like you and other useless trolls do.  So, look at yourself in the mirror.

P.S. Mr. Oringer has a better stock photo portfolio than you do imo.

Bye.

Bye please go away, shut up.

« on: January 17, 2021, 00:34 »
They are in fact our appointed agent! they use our assets in order to make money!  when SS declares they have 200 million assets ( images), they don't really since these 200 million assets are our assets our pictures.
Had SS been an old style stock-agency our pics would have been in the form of trannies something you could physically touch and therefore a signed agency-contract and everything. Its not though its all digital and can be wiped out in seconds!..SS is playing on this one all the way and treat us like complete noobs!
You have a contract you agreed for all the micro agencies but you don't understand what that said? https://submit.shutterstock.com/legal/terms#:~:text=Terms%20of%20Service%20Shutterstock,%20Inc.,%20and,%20where%20the,content%20from%20the%20Shutterstock%20websites%20(collectively,%20%22Shutterstock%20Websites%22).

The terms say #18 The relationship of the parties is that of independent contractors. There is no relationship of partnership, joint venture, employment, franchise or agency created hereby between the parties. You're wrong.

« on: July 20, 2020, 14:57 »
Hi,
I am deleting my images on Shutterstock one by one. You probably know why ....
When checking it the next day, I still find many of those images that obviously have not been deleted. They are offered by shutterstock as "Get these images for FREE. Download this image now with a free trial."
How is this possible? Does anyone know how I can get these images deleted permanently?
Your help would be greatly apprechiated.

Might take 90 days to delete, in the contract you agreed to.

Did you ever try less words to see if your sales would be even better, as an A/B test?

Since there is no way to really have a true dependent variable, there is no way to accurately test this.  I could post the same pic on different sites, but even with the exact key words, the sales are different.  And I could post a slightly different composition, but again, with the same key words, one might sell better than the other based on the needs of the customer and the random algorithms of the site.

In the set I mentioned, some of the shots are older.  And some of them don't have 50 words.  I checked one shot that was more popular back in the day and it only has 24.  But a photo that is only slightly older has 44 keywords and it sold better.  The most popular one in the set is newer and has 50 keywords.

I think the most important factor is the photo itself.  If it's a photo people want, they'll buy it.  However you want to keyword your photos is up to you.  I'm sticking with what is working for me.

The most important factor is the photo itself, if not viewed no sale. Did you watch the AdobeStock video?

I've never owned a camera with 2 card slots and have never had a card fail. But I do understand cards have failed for some people. I think a lot of photographers carry two cameras. Mostly to safe guard the main camera failing during a job.

Yes I understand the fear of not getting anything after a shoot, because the card fails on the last shot or when removing. However slim, I suppose people who have dual slot cameras should use that. I don't have that and I'm OK. That doesn't mean that someday I won't loose hours of work, that can't be recovered.

Yes I have forgotten to back up a card and formatted it. Then when I got home looked for that session. Oops. Card recovery is like disk recovery, works when you haven't shot anything over the data. Formatting is nothing but re-writing the TOC that the card/hard drive uses to know where and what the files are. Easy recovery.

Absolutely, and I don't understand people who have 2 slots and not use it.  Kinda "I like to live dangerously" haha!
2 slots are not just protection against defective cards, but also against human error, like what you said about forgetting to backup.
I sometimes take out 1 card to show images on my laptop, and after that, we decide to shoot a few more images.  Then I just pick up my camera and start shooting, and I forget all about the card in the laptop.  Easy!

Camera setting for do not allow to shoot without card. 1 card slot, backup often.

In the past, we have had various newbies complaining about their Alamy payout because they hadn't done their basic homework and didn't realise that in the easiest to access sales reporting page on Alamy, prices are quoted gross. I didn't mention, nor did I even think about you, (sorry to disappoint).
As you can see, I didn't even "assume" that the OP didn't know.

Where do you see what we enter the gross in the poll or are quoting gross in sales on forum? How do I know that I'd like to watch.
Are you in the same parallel universe as YYY?!

I understand what he asked that you didn't answer how do you know what he enters and what I asked that you didn't answer except to write an insult. How do you know what anybody enters gross or net and how do you know newbies are complain because they haven't done their homework. Are you a teacher critic poll monitor for all of us?

As the OP says he didn't read all the details, I'll just say that Alamy sales prices are quoted gross, as we've had a number of other people who haven't realised that then been disappointed down the line. If you already know that, that's good.

My Alamy results are real, not gross, How do you assume to know what everybody else reports?
You appear to be addressing me but I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, and I was neither talking to, nor referring to you.

rejections are not a problems..the problems is the collapsing of sale over 38 cent...rpd is collapsing...i don't care if they reject something....all in all most new content don'tsell at all because nobody is so idiot to search for new files...make any search first with new then with relevant...who in the world would mess looking for a usable file using the new tabs?...the problem is 99 % of sale are sub. and not only here in general...i'm up 35 % sale in all agency down 200 % in terms of dollar so far...i need 10 times more images sold than last year to match the dollar. time to ficus n rm for agency like westend and offset...microstock is collapsing.

You don't make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas. Shirley Chisholm

you not even earned one tenth of what i earned...so why talking? i complain not cause i not earn 300 dollar months like you ,you understand? i'm taking of earning 50 60K, not 3 4....you understand?

Who are you can I see your photos link please. I want to see what earns 50K in Micro.

always the same stuff always the same old files...nothing new sells....unbielevable.

Just to see, I looked at recent stuff for landscape : https://www.shutterstock.com/fr/search/landscape?sort=newest&image_type=photo
UNBELIEVABLE, I was not conscient about all the crap coming in. Nothing surprising that recent stuff, even if the best keeps unseen and unsold, buyers don't come through all these snapshots to find professionnal photo... How serious contributors can feel proud by participating on such a platform? personnaly, I feel ashamed to put my best pictures there.
But, I am sure that one day things will change, and they will have to clean up the base.

Perfect example of proof by using a terrible example. One word search for Landscape? Are you joking?

What buyer would do that? Landscape  ::)

always the same stuff always the same old files...nothing new sells....unbielevable.

You say you stopped uploading and when you did it was rejects. What did you expect?

my rejects is probably in the 5% for batch. I'm not uploading my best stuff or creative one, simply upload stuff i not consider my best work, that doesn't mean is bad work, probably much better than what you are uploading.

Show us who you are so we can see if your work backs your big talk.

It's nice, but it would be even nicer, it there was like two rows with last five images sold on top of the dashboard  ( not by dowwnloads, like now), and statistics graphat the bottom if it really must be there.

And then somebody will complain that they liked one column, graphic on top and 10 past sales. What I'd like most and I think will help the most of us is search in our own photos for edit, by keywords not only date or downloads. Important useful not look of a page.

You all don't need to worry the problem was solved in 2016. In the email sent out to staff on Thursday morning, CSIROs chief executive Larry Marshall indicated that, since climate change had been established, further work in the area would be a reduced priority.

Our climate models are among the best in the world and our measurements honed those models to prove global climate change, he said. That question has been answered, and the new question is what do we do about it, and how can we find solutions for the climate we will be living with? Marshall is handing out notices and 350 workers are to be sacked. Climate change is a fact, more research is not needed.

Trump is rude as well!! but Acosta is not great at his job! CNN should have replaced him long ago. People need to be civil and kind to one another and Trump is just as bad. We all need to look at the election map and see a sea of red with some blue pockets in the cities and realize that we all need to get along. Trump is not my idol or hero by any means, man needs to grow up but on some of his policies I do agree, not all but some.

"As of October 2017, Gallup polling found that 31% of Americans identified as Democrat, 24% identified as Republican, and 42% as Independent.[3] Additionally, polling showed that 46% are either "Democrats or Democratic leaners" and 39% are either "Republicans or Republican leaners" when Independents are asked 'do you lean more to the Democratic Party or the Republican Party?'"

81% of Americans live in those "blue pockets." Stop kidding yourself with the "sea of red." The majority of Americans are Democrats or lean that way,

Keep convincing yourself of the popular support and how your party is a majority or superior. Gallup poll doesn't win elections.
116th Congress, First Session (as of 11/7/2018)
51 Republicans
46 Democrats (2 Independents Sanders and King)
3 outstanding Senate races
House 115th Congress
235 Republicans
193 Democrats
7 Vacancies

I have all in all spent over 35 grand on all kinds of video equipment and thats apart from the Black-Magic recorder itself, the only one thing that pay are production companies NOT any Micro and NOT Getty or any other stock-agency!...the all get peanuts and cents!....now if you can work your way into various large Prod-companies then its worth it but for stock-agencies, forget it!!

although a Gimble is of course worth it for yourself so buy it! it does help a lot!

Sorry for being a bit negative but thats the way it is!

Why do you come to a micro site to tell us how good you are other places, and how terrible micro is. Then complain about caps and searches on micro, how terrible your earnings are. Don't you have your secret forum to make fun of us. Doesn't make sense.

Its called malignant narcism

compensating for tiny huevos and low self esteem.

When set on Popular, not new, SS gives almost identical results to IS and Fotolia. What was your point?  Sorry,  Shade Sue already asked the same question.

my poi wa the shutter stock has 3 times images of stock...beacuas mostly they accept any customer and any photo...new images on ss are appalling hundreds of repetition....that'swhy any mental safe customer doesn't use the new tabs and why we keep selling mostly old images, and new images don't sell....in stock 80% of sales fromfeb are from files uploaded in the last year, and view statistic tell me exactly that mostly new files are viewed. this is important if you want grow quality content.
in ss i grow only because old files keep selling but really small revenue come from new work.

Where can I see view statistics on Shutter?

in shutter i don't know....in stock there is view on esp....in stock only 5 10% of files are older than 2 years...in shutter stock practically only old files sells. sure you can have the nice image sold every day....but again my best seller in last 1 year and 3 months  is a photo of dubai landmark, and not even commercial but editorial...has sold 408 times so far mostly sub but also 25 times sod and 2 el...so according to the post before considering dubai has literally 1000000000 photos i shouldn't have sold...

Where do I see my views on ESP?

AS for me has been pretty good since takeover, better than FT (2 x SS so far this month and BME). Been on both for 8 years +

And at the same time Adobe passed iStock on the poll. My sales are growing on FT and dropping on IS.

I put on sites where the photos match best what sells micro and keep best for macro or direct sales.
