I'm there too I did that, does the page need to be named "Home Page" or something?

How are you guys doing the new and featured images on the front page? I'm not terribly new to wordpress but I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Thanks Anita, I'm decently knowledgeable about wordpress and child themes I can't figure out what . I did wrong so I actually mailed it to a friend. I'll try and figure it out tomorrow.

When you go into your WordPress dashboard hover over Settings (it'll be on the left hand side of the page) a pop over menu will pop up and click on permalinks.
Once that page loads under common settings you'll click on the post name radio button then scroll down and click the save changes button.
Thanks Anita, I just followed the instructions this time. I think I'll give it up for the night though. Having an error I can't figure out trying to modify header.php

Check your Permalinks in Settings - seems it's wrong
I'm deleting it and starting over Bought a new domain and upgraded my hosting too It'll be nice to not deal with the micros anymore. Stock is more of a hobby, and my portfolio isn't able to compete but, hopefully I'll see a sliver of success with Symbiostock. What is the permalink setting supposed to be? Also, for some reason the pricing keeps resetting, and I'm kind of branding the site on having the bloggy size only $1. Which is competitive with the micro's but I'll keep most of the pennies for myself I'm happy to be a part of the community.

It's not ok. It's broken. If I remove the referral it works though ... Not sure what I did. It seemed to work last night.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Locally the file works with
/* Theme Name: Symbiostock Child Theme URI: http://drpgraphicdesign.com Description: Symbiostock Child Author: Dallas Price Author URI: http://drpgraphicdesign.com Template: Symbiostock Version: 1.0.0 */
/* =Imports styles from the parent theme -------------------------------------------------------------- */ @import url("../symbiostock/style.css");
/* =Theme customization starts here -------------------------------------------------------------- */ But, online I'm getting "The parent theme is missing" :/

I tried it again but, then had to copy and paste the keywords into my files metadata which is kind of a pain I'm not trying their distribution, I'm just going to use my credits on files that I'm not sure how to keyword. There's also http://prostockmaster.com/ which I don't know too much about. I did use the trial for a couple weeks or whatever it is.

At work I use the tablet when isolating product shots and I find the drawing point "sticky". I don't mean on the tablet itself, I mean as I touch the pen to the tablet, the tool in Photoshop seems to stick to the point for a second, which is enough to be noticeable. It got better with the last update of the driver, but I have never had the issue with Intuos 5.
Try disabling the press and hold option for right click. Seemed to work for me. I had been using my Bamboo at home for sketching ideas and random things. But, I started to have some wrist pain being on the computer all day most days. So, I took my Bamboo to work (where I mostly build ads and adjust photos) and picked up the older Intuos 3 new for about 80 bucks. I have to say it's way nicer than the Bamboo. So much more sensitive and I don't have nearly as many jagged lines and things. I'd definitely recommend getting one from the Intuos line, even if that means getting an older one.

Around ... 1/3 of the time that the client supplies the images I have to decline them. One yesterday from one of our very own salespeople (at least he's new and had an excuse),
Yeah, I noticed the comma got stuck in the link, and tried editing it twice ... I must be naive or something because both times it just stayed there.

A few weeks ago at the newspaper where we work we did a small special section showcasing some of the local businesses that wanted to advertise there. One of the businesses sent us http://us.fotolia.com/id/16591249, incredibly without watermark and at high res. During my searching around the same time I saw the same photo on fotolia. Which, to me anyway, basically means that despite the declining royalties and demand, microstock is alive and well. The more people that realize how affordable the images are, the better imo. (Now if we can just keep a decent share of the profits ) Keep up the great work people

Personally, I've only had a couple problems with godaddy (I've had up to four hosted simultaneously). The shared hosting is always a pain but, you'll find that with any of your cheaper hosting. They're a fair bit more expensive on renewals than what they're offering new customers (go figure, the cable company does that crap). But, a few years ago, after I'd been a customer for quite a while ... I had to switch to monthly payments, before they'd called me if the payment was overdue or whatever. It was the farthest thing from my mind as I was mainly focused on trying to survive, they deleted ALL of my content for ONE late payment ... It wasn't even a month late, it was only a week or so ... But, I'm still with them ... Mostly because it's a hassle to register somewhere else and try to figure out their site and whatever.
I jumped on this thread for one simple purpose, is it possible to install symbiostock but, keep most of my theming in place? Or would it be easier to apply symbiostock to a page and then child theme it to look like the main site? I highly doubt it's even beneficial for me to be considering this with my tiny port. But, it's only one more site and figured it was worth the ask ...

When ambitious I do around 1 per week. Most of the summer it's been around 1 per month. I keep finding myself deleting my crappier files too, which I'm sure is dumb.

So, through a discussion here I learned of picworkflow.com and today I purchased some credits to see how well the keywording works. How many others use picworkflow, do you use their keywords? What other of their services are handy? I'm pretty new and only contribute to a handful of sites so I'm not sure if having them upload files will save me a ton of time.
Just interested to see, I was hoping they had a smaller package than the $10 ... But, maybe I'll try their upload thing. :/

"I'm doing great! I deleted my portfolio about 3 years ago, and I've never been happier."
Thanks! I just spilled my coffee on myself laughing so hard!
Yeah, I must have deleted the e-mail. Something like, if the file doesn't have sales for 6 months it drops in price, and then if it gets 3 sales you have the option of repricing it.

Yeah, their new 6 month thing has me really irritated since I've been trying to focus on seasonal stuff. :/

How do you guys find idea's that sell? Is there a way to find commonly searched keywords? How much time do you find you can devote to one single file with the continually declining royalties? I'm getting a bit better, and find myself caught in an internal battle of how long I WANT to spend on a file to sell for so cheaply. I know I can illustrate better than even my last file. But, I spent hours on that even. I suppose I'm not all that concerned with the money, as microstock illustrating is more of a hobby currently. But, a couple bucks a week or so wouldn't be too bad

So, is the toolbar pretty much worthless?
524
« on: August 08, 2013, 22:28 »
Am I naive, I downloaded PicNiche and can't really figure it out. Is it just a search tool? on their website it says something about keyword ratings but ... with the toolbar I'm not seeing any ratings or anything really. Just searching agencies really :/
I'm sure I could figure it out if I dug around a bit. But, any tips are appreciated.
Also, thanks for the compliment. I wouldn't say any of my files have had "success" but, really (attempting) illustrating is more of a hobby, I don't really expect to make much, or anything really. But, I like to contribute and practice.

There's a lot wrong with me Are you suggesting that I move Fall greetings to the first keyword. I was still under the assumption that multiple keywords didn't work often so I hadn't even tried to search that. Thank you for that insight, I'd assumed I wasn't getting any traffic due to being so far back on my main keyword. Turns out I just need to illustrate better
