Was just thinking it's been a while since we've had any ''exciting news'' for contributors, like more than a week of no ''exciting news''. Guess this is the latest ''exciting news''.

Second best month (August 2022) next to last month (July 2022) which incidentally, stands as the best month ever.
Best August (only fourth August since starting) with a 138% increase over previous best August in 2021.
Best month ever on Adobe Stock. Second best month on Shutterstock.
Overall, a good month.

Occasional high price video sale...

Youd think, with the outpouring of such generosity by contributors, eager to give back to the community, zealous to offer high-quality images freely for any variety of project, from simple web articles to elaborate advertising campaigns, at absolutely zero cost to the customer, regardless of their stock photography budget, that 123rf could at least put a like button on its library of digital assets so that customers can show their appreciation to the contributor as they download images by the bucket load without paying a dime for them. Geesh what is the world coming to today.

Finally reviewed with 9/10 approved. I don't submit too many in any one batch and only 1 to 3 from each shoot.

And just like that, I am already into my BME on Adobe Start. Adobe Start, because it's starting to kick some butt this month.

In one word - constipation!
Downloads are constipated. Dollars are constipated. Reviews are constipated. Everything is constipated.

Editorial videos went through fine within normal review times.

Been a week for mine too, editorial videos are being reviewed in 2 or 3 days thereabouts but the commercial videos have slowed way down in recent weeks.

It was slow last week, and slow the beginning of this week. Then yesterday early afternoon it picked up and even had a $28 video sale which was good to see, haven't had one at that price in a while.

Sorry everyone, I clearly got this mixed up with something else. Yes Shutterstock reviews and the team of highly professional reviewers are fantastic. I can't remember the last time I had a rejection at Shutterstock. And the beauty of it is, you can submit an entire series of images from a photoshoot... 50, 100, 200 images and they'll all be excepted without question, and sometimes within as little as 10 minutes.

For anyone considering uploading to SS again, it is more difficult to get content accepted and longer review times.

I had two accepted no probs, then the following six (as I don't upload all at once,) all rejected, same shoot and at least in a few instances, better quality. Rejected for technical issues. Might put them up again to test with hopefully a different reviewer.
ETA videos are being accepted with almost no rejections for mine.

I had 45 photos on the site, it was the first agency I gave up on after waiting weeks for them to be reviewed. Just gone in there and deleted them all. Not gonna give any opportunity for these places to benefit from free giveaways, not in this way at least.

Down from where? What were your earnings before?
Need context: Some would consider your sales a good result. Great even.

I started uploading in February 2019. I figured pretty early on that images weren't going to be too profitable with little history in photography or a collection of photos for that matter. Thus I only take photos now as an incidental while capturing video content. My best-selling image as far as earnings are concerned (combined Shutterstock and Adobe Stock) is $126.12. Probably would of made more if I had uploaded to Getty / iStock which this exercise has just revealed to me that I haven't. ETA for correction. I do have the image on G/istock but no idea how to find it or the submission batch on this platform.

Quite an extraordinary month with July not only my BME but doubled my earnings on my previous BME in June 2022. Have to give credit where it's due... Shutterstock was the big performer in July by a long way. Pond5 did pretty good, Adobe and Is/Getty not bad either.

2.2 million contributors with "5 million to 10 million assets being added every single quarter."
2 to 5 uploads per contributor in quarter. I wonder how many active contributor they have.
Good point, which I have also mentioned for years. How many active contributors and how many are people who have an account, which is either dormant or abandoned or has never had an image accepted. And how many people uploaded, believing they could make easy money and will never cash out ever, because it could take up to 350 downloads.
There are still active and high volume, hard working people, but the numbers for contributors have always been tainted and inflated.
A chap sent me this message (attached) on Facebook back in February this year. Careful reading this aloud, listeners might think you're talking about something completely different. Just had a look at the port, doesn't look like it's grown much. Probably didn't get enough downloads to feel motivated to continue. Link to account here: https://www.shutterstock.com/g/sarath+bandara

Not the biggest sale I've had (that was June 2020) but the biggest commission on a single download with this video and am already well into my BME before this dropped in...
Congrats to you!
Thank you Wilm

Been disappointed with Pond5 with no sales for the month despite it having more than 100 videos uploaded (ie: compared to the next agency which has had 20 video sales so far this month).
Noticed a spike in views on Pond5 yesterday, logged in this morning and nothing. But later got the email to show the following sale. Asking price for HD = $79.00, listed price = $57.00, selling price = $118.98, commission = $47.59.

Thanks Annie, indeed it's been one crazy year of rolling severe weather in Sydney, incidentally my first year here since 2008 after moving back from Canberra.

These photos don't do justice to the incredible erosion along Cronulla beach in Sydney's South - which just happened during very severe weather last week. Where you could walk down to the beach, you now need to slide down a drop of four to eight feet (or more) depending on where you enter the beach at. If you look closely at the photos, this erosion stretches right across the entire beach. I talked to two guys down there on Sunday who've been there for years and they said never seen anything like it. Sydney itself is experiencing the wettest weather on record with both the wettest start to the year and likewise for the month of July. I grew up on Georges River at East Hills in Sydney's South West and my dad had owned the place since the 1950s. There were some big floods there over the decades, including two I can remember in 1986 and 1988. But none of this remotely compares to this year with already 4 major floods, 3 of which entered the lower house just this year alone. Other communities around the state of NSW have been decimated by the floods of March 2022 / July 2022. Check out my drone video (link below) of the most recent flood on 3 July 2022 in the neighbourhood at East Hills where I grew up in. For perspective, the flood waters you see in the yards of the properties there are well over your head in depth as you move closer to the river. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4le2vt1QUdY&t=22s My family were not prepared for this most recent flood (which rose very rapidly) and didn't have time to move valuable furniture / appliances on the lower level which were destroyed by the flood waters. As a consequence of the frequent flooding there this year, my sister is now selling the family home of about 65 years. The weather systems in Sydney seems like it has permanently changed. This follows the drought we had experienced in recent years, only ending in those devastating bushfires in late 2019/2020 which were televised around the world.

Sounds like a good plan, Annie.
