It's hard to get past the raw idea stage when just the mere mention of contributor empowerment triggers a bunch of defeatist negativity. What is your goal, exactly? Again, you guys don't think it will work, you think it's been tried as best as it's ever been tried and that's all the proof you need. Good for you. Will you be happy once everyone that has a glimmer of hope is knocked down to your level?
You read too much into this. Feel free to go ahead with whatever you like, but in six months, we'll just be pointing back to this thread when the next person posts "Let's form a union!!!". That's experience talking.

No, the volume was like 10 times higher.
Images could have more than 10 000 downloads, so even if you got 30 cents to a dollar, a good series could earn you thousands of dollars and thus you could invest in your production.
Before my image was stolen by everyone on the internet, my girl with headset had more than 10K downloads at IS.

They'll be your exclusive _distributor_. They can "distribute" them wherever they like.

The lack of logic is amusing, since the very nature of stock footage is that it is never exclusive. The goal is of course to sell it multiple times. Will the client feel better if 99 other Pond5 customers used the same clip? But not if Shutterstock customers did...
Exactly. "We don't like to see the same clip out there, so try not to sell it too much." "Will those non-exclusive clips drop to 40% or would we have to delete all content from other agencies? I'd think about going exclusive, but there's no way I can afford to delete anything from SS" It's artist exclusive. You have two weeks to remove.

No. It's a video exclusive artist program.

So Pond5 thinks they're going to get people to sign up for exclusive ARTIST for a 10% bump.
ETA: Oh, excuse me. 20%. Since they're cutting non-exclusive artists to 40%.
ETA: You get two weeks to remove content from other sites. That's your "buffer period".

according to that stats site with the bird logo (I forgot the name), I am above the 93 percentile in earnings of all stock contributors. So I make more than 93% of photographers and videographers.
I have 20,000 videos and about 50,000 photos (half online, rest are pending upload).
I make about $35,000 a year from stock.

Is there a trick to uploading videos on the Adobe site? I just uploaded my first using the Adobe site instead of Fotolia, and I don't see them waiting for me to submit. Although I do "All(5)" under the "new" tab. Do they take time to process or something?

I just loaded it into Chrome with Tampermonkey and it looks ok here. Make sure you have the new script? The thumb column was showing prior, but the thumbs weren't loading.
