This seems like one of the perils of having a profession that is indeed quite enjoyable. So enjoyable that many people are willing to do it for free. Like professional sports and other forms of art, it's hard to make a living from such professions.
Time will tell how long the free worker will think it's fun when he has to do it over and over again.

Yeah, really great stuff. It would be interesting to see her workflow. They look very cinematic.

One valid reason for a return I feel is..... (especially when they purchase the same image - something I've had happen on Alamy). Say they buy an image at size small then realize they need a larger size or more rights or something. Returning their original purchase and buying the larger size makes total sense.

Hi Leaf, i also completed the survey but my name was already on the newsletter. Could you add me as well?
done. About a week before the draw I'll send out an email to both everyone included in the draw and another email to everyone who isn't registered for the draw. That way it will be easy to double check that you are indeed entered.

+ Metadata read system is completely rewritten.
Metadata should now be read way faster. If some file is not read correctly after this update - please send it by Skype (login landofrain) - we'll fix that If multiple files from same source are not read correctly - it is enough to send one of them.
thanks, yeah - it does read much faster .. but it gets 'stuck' on a couple files. Will send them over

Google just launched the ability to sort the image results by license type. Essentially is sifts out images you are apparently free to use for free. Now they just need a 'license from an agency' setting to help us out!

Ok, I made sure you two were entered in the draw.
The sign up does work, you just need to do a few more steps if you are already in the email list.
If you get the message you are already on the list, you need to ... - click that link that to update your profile - then, an email will be sent to you - find that email with another link to update your profile - then FINALLY you can update your profile with the 2013 survey box checked.

I'm another who was already subscribed, and probably need manually entering into the draw, sorry! Only read the instructions after filling in the form
You are right, you weren't signed up - you are now. 544 responses. Getting close to last year's record of 750. Thanks to everyone who has shared the survey with their friends, blogged, tweeted, or facebooked it.

I did go though it and answer most of the questions but it wanted more of them it would not accept it - at least I tried
Yeah, you need to answer all the questions in the survey. We are up to 481 responses so far. Thanks to everyone who responded and shared the survey. Only 270 more people to break last year's record.

As a thank you to everyone who responds there will be a random give-away again. There are a couple prizes up for grabs. There will be one winner for each prize. Winners will be drawn randomly (using a random number generator). Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash.
Um... that is cool. * it, I guess I would have had to add my email address somewhere to qualify for one of the prizes, right?
Yeah, after you complete the survey you are taken to a separate page to enter your email
It told me my email was already there, ghosted out the submit icon and that's that. Hope it came through.
You weren't entered either. I manually added you now.

Not sure if it added my email to the draw for the prizes. When I added my email it said: xxxx @ semmick.com is already subscribed to list MicrostockGroup. Click here to update your profile. When I clicked the link it opened a new page and I am not sure if it registered my email for the draw. Can you check this?
Thanks.
Yeah, I wish there was a better way for things to work when someone is already on the list. If you get the message you are already on the list, you need to ... - click that link that to update your profile - then, an email will be sent to you - find that email with another link to update your profile - then FINALLY you can update your profile with the 2013 survey box checked. I'll also be sending out a reminder at the end of the month to those who haven't responded to the survey (checked the box). If you get that email you know you missed checking the box. Or... if you are unsure, send me a pm or email and I'll double check it for you.

Yeah, after you complete the survey you are taken to a separate page to enter your email
I guess there is no way to add that when I've already sent my filled out survey form...?
I'll send you a PM

Come to think of it, doesn't shutterstock own skillfeed ??
Yes they do. It looks like it was just a cross promotion thing for them. They are two separate businesses though which is probably why skillfeed isn't free for Shutterstock contributors.
