I don't regret joining Dissolve because their sales are impressive for a new agency.  I made OK money so far there.  I think the sales went down a little bit since VideoBlocks started in April.  So, Dissolve may have panicked and tried to blame us contributors instead and punish us.  That's no good.

Looking at all of your threads, your life must be an emotional rollercoaster filled with moments of disappointment the previous day and excitement the next...

Can't you just keep it all in a single thread titled: "my emotions from day to day"? Or better yet, keep a diary.

Haha!

1st 4k sale on VideoBlocks in a while and realized how great the 100% commission is.  Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you.

You didn't. But promise me you're not gonna start a new thread called 'I am disappointed in Videoblocks this week' after this.

Congrats anyway, I have yet to get a first 4K sale anywhere. Hope it's going to be at VB.

Thanks, but I'm not gonna promise that.  LOL.

I'm sorry, I got too excited.  I don't think you get $191 commission on a single video sale from any other site unless you price your clip really high on Pond5.  I hope those 4k sales from VideoBlocks will come constantly.  It's really great.

I should have gone with my gut instinct after the $5 clip fiasco.
There appears to be nothing we can do about the situation other than disclose it to the public and to stop uploading clips.

Let's just hope other companies do not follow them otherwise it's the Death Bell.

DISSOLVE SUCKS!

Who is T3Media?
So, did they actually sell contributors' HD clips for $5?

Yes. They sold 1080p for $5. They were 'given' the clips by T3Media.

I don't know about T3Media.  Seems like a very small site.

556
You get about $60 on other sites for a 4k sales.  $191 vs $60, it's huge!

After they clawed back some of my May Royalties in June due to some corporate deal gone awry, leaving me owing them money (yeah right), they jumped to the bottom of my list. Now this bizarre move - I don't expect them to rise to the top, for sure. They seem to be in that phase where they feel contributors are expendable.  That's so 2009...

So you got this "huge corporate deal" thingy too ..
I wonder who else.
Last month I had a 4K return from the previous month that was charged onto me,as well as a number of reduced sales for a total revenue of 20usd each, plus a few more 4K returns because "the client actually wanted hd" which were further discounted as hd.

That's ridiculous.  We don't know what really happened.  They can say anything.  Our trust is going down.

I find that there is sometimes a delay in reporting sales - you'll go for sometimes 4-5 days without any, then suddenly have a day with 8 or 9 sales. Yesterday wasn't one of those days - more a usual day with only 2.

Yes, their sales report seems irregular sometimes.

560
This contributor's clips have been priced at this level even before that infamous announcement.

561
Yes all my files are now 49$, including some 4k/UHD!

For real?  So, 4k clip is priced at $49 and also $49 for HD resolution of the same file?

562
I'm checking my clips' price everyday to make sure they don't do that stupid thing.

564
I'm sorry to hear guys.  I wondered if they had a sale or added delayed sales or something.

565
I wonder if it was the same for everybody.

VideoBlocks slowed down in 2nd half of July to my disappointment.

They used to sell HD clips for $5?  The same clip sold at Getty for $450.  I wonder if they had the contributor's consent to sell for $5 because the clip is now unavailable and the contributor left Dissolve it seems.

They did not have the contributors consent to sell HD clips at $5
The clips were 'given' to them by T3Media.

It still takes about 15 days from the end of the month to come up with the sales list for Dissolve while another small agency VideoBlocks reports instantly.

I kinda lost respect for them for even suggesting that kind of stuff.  It's annoying and disappointing.

Are anybody's clips changed to $49 already?

You are welcomed to lower the price to $49 if you give us 100% royalty or to $69 if you give 50% royalty.

We have to compete too.

Thank you!

"Available in FLV, WMV, AVI and MP4 formats for web resolutions and in MP4 for High Definition, this video footage may be downloaded for all kinds of professional uses and in different resolutions (up to 1,920 x 1,080 pixels)."

You can get ProRes422 files on other sites if you upload ProRes422.  If Fotolia corrects this issue, I may have to upload all my files in ProRes422 again.

It seems like nobody from video industry is working there at higher position.
It's a shame because now the great Adobe company owns Fotolia and we have high expectation for them.

573
So, my sales tripled last month from prior month.  This month is on a pace for close to double the last month.  Growing fast and I like it.

574
Had my first sale (2 HD files) today!  :D  My portfolio has been online for 5 days.

Congrats!  I think it'll accelerate because it's been growing fast for me.

Only if they actually sort the problems out and they don't let situations like this happen in the first place.

Well, in comparison with other agencies, these guys came much quicker to respond here. So Respect for that ...and Thank You VideoBlocks!

They seem like good/honest people over there.  No shadyness I can feel.
