Gone are the days of submitting 30 images and all getting approved. Perhaps submitting in smaller batches is a good idea.
I never submit more than 5 at a time to SS (usually 3 a few times a week if i feel energetic)... and is it me or do rejection reasons come in waves... for a while, it's artifacting, then for a while it's something else.... I swear I never had a group of rejections where each rejection was different... LOL speaking of "composition, not a good seller" (or whatever the exact wording) came up a couple times this week for me at SS. Haven't seen that one in probably over a year. Maybe theres a new sheriff in town and that was the rejection button of the week??? LOL And in support of what has been already said here... those exact pix were accepted the same day on IS. who knows what evil lurks in the minds of reviewers?? only the shadow knows..... (insert maniacal laughter here) -tom p.s. and if SS reads this... I'm not complaining. SS is still my No. 1 or 2 seller, flip-flopping with IS. sorry one more point. I have on more than one site and on more than one occassion, resubmitted pix rejected as "not stock material/not deemed a good seller/ and compostion" .... resubmitted some 5-6 months later............ and they are accepted. Just because a pic might not be considered a good seller today, doesn't mean that will be the case in six months.

Leaf makes a great point too! I'd be interested in hearing others numbers on that. Wife and I were talking about it this weekend.. How much time do you spend actual shooting versus post-work (including uploading)? I rough guessed almost 2 to 1... every two hours shooting I spend at least an hour in post-work.. Some of the uploads are a real pain in the sitting area, some like LO are a snap. Hey, I'm going to start a new thread on this question.. sorry to go off on a tangent here.. now back to polls!! -tomp.s. consistency still irks me more than ease of upload... LOL

Ok :-)
I think the ease of upload should be rated heavier (x3?). Don't care about the web-interface so much (x.5?).
Opla... makes my exact point right here. Now we are debating how heavy to weigh each category... example, I agree with ... her (?? taking a leap here because of the avatar, which then again really means nothing either as far as gender goes...) okay I agree with Opla (that'll keep me out of trouble) ... I agree with Opla that web-interface is not as big a deal to me... but I wouldn't say ease of upload, I would say consistency...that irks the poop out of me. Point... these polls are going to be great reading!! LOL -tom

Shot the sky with a very high f number
oh yeah... especially a dark, deep blue sky (if you can find days like that anymore) ..... My wife said I sounded like a madman last night as I 'shopped' them out... the spotting was horrible and very very time consuming... and when you deal with sky, it is usually gradient, changing ever so slightly from top to bottom side to side.. then, sometimes... you just can't ' paint' the spot out, you just create a different looking spot! LOL ... repeat after me, "sensor dust sux, senso dust sux..." -tom

I don't know how the StockXpert upload is behind the SS one, I find it much easier.
Sharpshot... that's one of the things I enjoy and find interesting about polls and opinion surveys. Quite often I find the overall results far different than what I thought they'd easily be... LOL I'm going to like this feature. It should spark some interesting discussion . -tom

HA HA HA..... I was just complaining about this all night. I'm working on about 600 pix I just shot down in the Smoky Mountains and the North Carolina and Tennessee countryside last week... I swear, 98% of the work I did tonight was removing sensor spots from dark blue skies..... I gotta get this thing cleaned!! Canon Rebel.... I'm very leary about cleaning it myself... it hasn't been cleaned in over 2 years...and I've had this thing open in some pretty dirty/dusty locations (arizona desert, jersey beaches, appalachian trail,... LOL). Man, I beat this camera to death, Canon should take it back and put it in their "believe it or not' museum!
My last Canon went swimming. I was shooting white water, standing in it up to my knees... and the next thing I knew, me and Canny were * in h2o. The Canon folks fixed it for only $99. That was sweet! But I'm motivated to get the Rebel cleaned.. my wife won't let me buy a 5D until I get this one cleaned for her....LOL.. Monday, I'll get my nose in the phone book and find a shop that'll clean it. -tom
P.S. I'm thinking I won't be standing in any water once I get the 5D.... LOL

Nah....no link. I'd rather, if you guys would, when you find my comments on your work, just click back into my port' and comment on whatever strikes you (if anything LOL). I'd rather see what you pick out, what might catch your eye. Much appreciated. I don't know if this commenting had anything to do with it, but my sales at LO have increased a bit, in fact, just got my first EL there. Who knows? Even so, I enjoy commenting on all your work. We have some really fine photogs here in the MSG gang! -tom

Lately I have been crying the blues about my very, very limited sales versus high views at LO. I've been away this past week on a shoot down in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Tenn & NC).... returned tonight, checked out all my sales and low & behold... not only did I have a few sales on LO this past week, I also got my first EL there. So today, I'm a happy carny!! I sure would like to see LO generate the same sales I experience especially on IS & SS. I've got over a year into LO now, I'm still hanging in there. I sure would like to get some sideshow action going there! -tom

My "dont need this" rejections have skyrockected at StockXpert. I used to have a decent low rejection rate there, not anymore. I guess StockXpert is loaded up. oh well .... IS takes them. Funny how that flip/flops... now, IS has my second lowest rejection rate. BigStock is still the lowest. -tom

So many avatars, so little time to look at them all! Just an off topic point of curiosity if you have a minute or two. Avatars! I find them interesting and I wonder ..... how'd you come to use the one you do? Does it tell us something about you? Does it relate to your craft, photography/graphic art? Is it just a picture you liked? Are the photo avatars really you? Or is it .... "yeah this'll work better than the generic" some random thing you uploaded ? Also... do you use the same one on all sites or do you change up? Some are pretty obvious, like Hatman's... others, make ya wonder..... like, what's that all about? Any one else have an interest in this? If so, why is yours what it is? What sparked me to ask was Leaf. He just recently changed his to the cow! Curious! Got a minute, fill us in on yours! - tom
