the best thing to do would be to go to SS critique forum post your images and get help there from people who know what SS wants. If you can accept criticism well, and put in the work to improve you will get in

payout is $75 - once you reach it or over SS will automatically send you whatever end-of-month balance you have you should get the money about 5-7 days after the end of the month

Why would he even suggest of your images illegally to your face? Something is just not right with such a person.

so your probably looking at 2 full days of work minimum 1 day to shoot 1 day to process for a minimum of $100/day and at the best $600/day
she got you for $200 initially and thats where she expects it to stay
I would say - in addition I want model release and property release so that you can at least take some of those shots and sell them on your own providing perhaps a little buffer for you if the deal craps out.

I dont feel its right for ss to charge us for a service which finally benefits them with better photographers and better stock photographs. I believe it should be free and considered an investment in their workforce (which is us), ultimately their business is to sell our stock images not make money giving courses.
thats a good point

Nice work and article and after all that, by all means... sign it on the front! And for the auction, I'd bet you created something that brought in much more money for the charity.
thanks Pete! That was definitely the desired effect for the charity

Here is a new blog I wrote about printing and framing those special photos you have - while trying to strike a balance between quality and pricing. I based my blog on my personal experience, and I hope you can find some useful information here. http://jeneimages.com/2014/01/Nick

I totally agree with Mat! Also I don't use any protective glass over my lens just a hood- I figure why would I put a $20 piece of glass over a very expensive glass? The hood protects it from light and dropping it...
I have a friend who subscribes to this way of thinking - me on the other hand, I always put a clear glass filter on all of my lenses, I want nothing, nada, zero chance of scratching or dirtying my glass. I only use Hoya or B&W clear glass filters, so no $20 filter for me. I think the impact of this filter in front of the lens produces negligible negative results. BTW the 24-70 II is an unbeatable piece of glass. Superb.

I guess you may as well ask where you reside - as that is the place most people will do there shooting, no?

post for a critique on their forums - sometimes seeing something from someone elses perpective teaches us something new. but all things said, I think we have all been hammered with the 100% rejection at one point or another

There is only one person to blame for this - and it ain't the agency.

I quit going to movies cuz of the cost, people talking, people texting, etc. They eventually come out on DVD and I can sit and watch at home.
I did, however, see Les Miserables on stage last night. Best theater (stage) performance I have ever seen....and the audience was respectful of the performers and those around them.
Are you in Toronto? I went to see the Toronto performance of Les Mis in November - the cast was outstanding and the performance was superb. One of my favorite stage plays because of the story behind it all. Thanks Victor Hugo

the ones that got accepted will automatically be added to your port and be available for sale, - sometimes this may take a couple of hours to a day, depending, before you will see them in your port.

the problem with point and shoots is the size of the sensor - with it being the size of your pinky nail, it just cannot collect enough information to make a quality image that is in demand. Also the technology of how the camera processes that information is another factor to consider. Basically for stock you will need an entry level dslr at the least.

opted out of the stupid "partner sales' program awhile ago after I got $2.64 for an EL.
Just got a 'regular' EL last week of over $35 - now thats more like it, albeit it is a rarity to get those.

Scott can you confirm our percentage of the sales for Facebook images please? I think its only fair that we know, since it our intellectual property. Thank you
Well, good luck with that...
