Have you tried the StockXpert forum? Are you sure you used the correct email to retrieve your account details?
Perhaps someone has hacked your email account and changed the email address with StockXpert. That has happened to a few people in the past on some sites and might explain why StockXpert hasn't got back to you.
makes sense, sharpshot. not only is this thread by george unfortunate, but could be useful for ourselves too on prevention. all the points are valid too, since your account is still live. please keep us informed, and wish you success in resolving this. Hopefully you didn't have much money accrued.
yes, that especially. my only incident related to this, is once almost a year ago, i requested to have my account deleted, even submitting complete details . and i insisted on a verification . the person in contact replied mentioning "here are the details pending deletion". to my horror, it was someone else's account. i quickly wrote back to tell them. it was scary, on the other person's case, considering I gave complete description and tag# to each and every one of the said account so as to avoid such a mistake. this could have well been such an error. EXCEPT that your account is still live, so, it HAS TO BE something remote. the StockXpert mystery continues..

Those are the same reasons I would think could make StockXpert do that, but then again, after the Getty transaction, allot of strange things are happening inside StockXpert's world
he has some outstanding images, doesn't he? my only other shot in the dark is IP (Intellectual Property) infringement, no releases. not all of them, but some on the first page , i could see it coming. but just guessing. maybe they close the account for too many IP infringement. But then again georgeburba, as i said, JUST GUESSING. let's stop here, i hate to drive you nuts and get you into a drunken binge just be patient and wait for their email. meanwhile, go submit your images elsewhere, there are impressive. congrats.

No that shouldn't be the case as his port is still available. My guess is it's a short-term cock-up which, assuming everything is in order should be resolved soon.
good point gostwyck. even when we delete an image, although it still onsite for 24 hours, it will show "not available" when we click on that image .

Bugger. I just got busted for a John Deere as well. My best selling photo at StockXpert is now offline.... Still for sale on Photos.com of course. Oh well, soon it will no longer sell for less than 31 cents anywhere...
I am aware of john deere green being off limits. but caterpillar. If you search IS,SS.etc you find caterpillar yellow machines . some even with the keyword caterpillar, and with 100-1000 downloads. Confused here !

george, the only possible reason is that you contravened one of the agreements. -such as : improper ID; images you don't owned; or misled the site in some form. other than that, i really don't know what would make them do it. what dya think , m@m, madelaide, ? this is just hypothesis, since only StockXpert knows

hi there, you're still able to contact support are you? try that, giving as much info of your account to them. good luck!
I sure did. No answer for 5 days from either StockXpert or JI
well, other than ringing them, i suppose you'll have to wait. hopefully it won't take forever. must be horrible being left in suspense. you've done all you can do, georgeburba.

Yeah, I was joking about the cat and dog image. It's taken on a life of its own.
Congratulations all!
Pat
Hi Pat, I was going to let this one go and not post anymore on this subject, but yes you and I were having some fun with this now famous image. Neither of us were putting Ivan down at all. Total congratulations to anyone from SV that got ported to Veer. Maybe some "new members" don't always get the joke. As for the "snr. member" posting I just cannot believe the vitriol in that. Why? We all come on this forum with differrent levels of experience and sales and I would hope all encourage and help each other. I am personally disgusted by that posting and I believe it is totally not in keeping with this forum. Regards, David
There, you got your tuppence worth getting it off your chest.. ! Isn't democracy fab? newcomer

Thx Racephoto. I was a bit wary considering it came in the junk mail like most "junks". btw, would the epson scan 2/14 and 4x5? my HP does up to 21/4 but to get good quality it would take forever to scan. so I chucked it aside.

...I moved across to Alamy the playing field more even, returns were greater there but with a couple of changes it was clear that they would not be able to sustain the growth of 6 million images a year shared between falling revenue, so I have pulled out of there,
David, cheers. granted your justification to pull out of micro, if you didn't care for their culture. but why would you have to pull out of Alamy when they don't require exclusiveness. Would be no harm to just leave them there given the sales you had. if you don't mind me probing. just trying to objectively weigh in.

Not all banks support accounts in US dollars. In Canada I know they do, but not sure about European countries?
you are right goldenangel. but here's the irony. Most Canadians who travel already have a US$ account to avoid exchange differences. But Ppal will not transfer to that . It only transfers to Canadian to a C$ account, which requires foreign exchange.

cheers travis, i'm probably better off just buying a small TV, as i know liveview works . the salesman demo it to me on an HDTV . looks fantastic, but i really only need it so i don't need to squint at the LCD on the camera
What camera have you got, if it's a 5dmk2 you can use liveview whilst tethered to a laptop.
hey RT, hey Karimala, I have a K20D. Pentax. would it work using the PC Video cable to the laptop, or whatever? I 'm looking at my laptop and it doesn't look like it has any of those connections. It did come with two types of RCA mono cables : one with 1/4 inch and the other with those tiny PC flat connector

just got this in one of my mail. it's a product costing 150 bucks. here's the specs: scans 35mm neg and slides 5MP cmos sensor 10 bits per colour channel for data conversion fixed focus AE control Auto Color Balance 3 white LED back light source. incl software to edut and resize as well as convert neg to postivies. + 20 buck S&H
what do you think? anyone has one? i suppose it 'll do for home users, but wonder if this is any better than the HP scanner i bought 3 years ago, which is not only very slow but also not very good.
i do have quite a bit of good images on 35 slides and neg for stock but never had much luck converting them.
in fact, i even have some color 4x5 positives from my view camera workshop days that would be stunning if i know how to digitalize them. imagine the quality of a 4x5 positives. perfect for XXL lol . Alamy would be the best for those.

Zeus, you could get a better line of credit by 2 % or more, if you secured it. Do you have other investments that you can use as collateral. If so, negotiate that with the bank.
That's what we are doing and even then there always seems to be an argument about exactly what the lowest rate is. "ooooo we can't possibly offer that rate, oh well if your walking across the street to the other bank we do a have better rate for customers like yourself". B@@@ards.
Yes, you do have to brush up your negotiating skills, esp when you do have collateral. Usually a mention of another bank wanting your business, and the chances of your moving the rest of your investment there, could suddenly get you a ,"um, I may have to call you back on that". And then you say, "Um don't take too long!" lol.. Speaking with the Manager always gets you more, than if you deal with one of the agents. Although I can understand that it is possibly less leeway now with prime so low, and the lending rate at what? zero. Still, look on the bright side, even at Prime +3 , you're not getting a premium like it used to be in the 90's. So, enjoy it while it lasts.

I'm Canadian and this may not apply at all to Americans but I do see a lot of similarities. For me incorporation allows income to be retained and spread out from high income to lower income years, Tax on dividends are much less. Some protection from law suits against personal assets, this can be a big deal if you own more than a 50D. The system takes you more seriously so as long as I am not being silly, gaining tax deductions for travel etc. is legitimized. I do pay more for accounting now. I just went through a hassle with my bank redoing a line of credit. They did not want to look at my dividend income when calculating loan rates and percentages. This was fixed. It costs more to administer corporations. A good accountant, and I would not take this on without an accountant, will tell you when you are making enough to make it worthwhile. You need a certain income before for it to make sense.

My hat is off to you John!
I truly wish every site had the balls to remove old unsold and low res images that were OK at the time of upload but fall behind the new stuff being produced today with better cameras and stricter approval rates. Many of the "old" sites have images that were produced with 1 and 2 MP point and snap cameras and the stuff is still there!
Yet in the same breath they have no problem rejecting new stuff shot with high resolution Canon and Nikon's due to "we have enough of that subject"
I have gone over my own portfolio of 3,000 images and deleted 600 of them. Out with the old and in with the new.

Good point. And one heart for Lcjtripod.

Can a company pay all of its income as dividends? I was wondering if this is something that raises eyebrows at the IRS.
goldenangle, there is a distinction: drawings is for your personal use, dividends are paid from profits earned in the course of business. you can fudge the two.

Looks cool, but I think I will stick with my $3 usb extension cord.
how does that work, travismanley? i like to tether my 14MP camera which has live view , as well as something that is screen shot (don't remember what they call it. it freeze the shoot, and if you like it, you can save it to RAW or JPG). live view is great but i don't like having to zoom in to check, so getting it onto my monitor for preview would be fantastic and faster at work. i don't have a tv , so it has to go through either my laptop or desktop. any help will be appreciated.

perharps the collective could try approaching Photo Shelter as they already had once the model of a working site, AND, they had a similar mission ie. taking on Getty. I recall reading their frontpage agenda and thought, "wow David (no pun intended) taking on Goliath !"
With due respect, what makes you think you can make a success out of what Photo Shelter failed at?
With due respect in reciprocation, with your exemplary pro-active voracious enthusiasm they just might stand the ghost of a chance

60?? LOL! My mother is 86, has Parkinson's disease and a host of other stuff wrong and she STILL looks better than this old bird.
rofl, ah yes nosaya. but your mother probably did not have to keep running away from a Sylvester. she probably surrendered to your father instead of wasting all that energy. poor lil tweety probably ran out of steam by the time she was not even 32 the only thing tweety doesn't have is vericose veins , because Sylvestor would not let her stand still

My charts show higher-than-normal sales for about my first month there (Jan 07). Maybe the honeymoon lasts 30 days? It's anybody's guess, really.
whatever it is, it's a smart strategy to "fee the beast", "the first taste of opium is always free" This seems like a logical explanation. If it is however something to do with being the first month online, then I might notice soon, as my first month is almost over. Still getting what seems to be a lot of downloads for the amount of images I have online. I wish I had more time and faster speed than 60kbps upload speed to do microstock.
which is precisely what you're expected to do , Komar... feed the beast

What's turned me off so far is that certain people seem to be under the impression that they can (almost) single-handedly whip up some sort of commercial website, or that they can successfully enter the marketplace with an absolute minimum of venture capital. I'm also put off that the people with the most to say on this are also the ones who hardly sell anything - they seem to blame their lack of income on 'unfair commissions' rather than their inability to make and market commercial imagery.
As to what's missing, I think that to be perhaps one of the earliest goals any organization needs to set: a mission statement.
