So for Dash for Cash, i got 30% gone..and it seems the major customers are US..so i got almost 99% sales are US sales..
it is like whenever i make $100, i only got $70.. too bad.

basically the contributors interface is terrible, the website designer should be fired.
It is a non-user-friendly interface, you have to browse through a lot of tab, scroll a lot, guessing what the terms.. blah blah..and you still don't get what you want.

oic, so color profile is with jpg. Thank you very much for sharing. I had converted all jpg with adobe 1998, but the color (for example shutterstock thumbnail) is still looking duller than what it is showing in adobe bridge, lightroom.. i don't really find the color can be dull till these batch of images that got skin tone. Should i punch up more contrast in order to look good as jpg display in website? RAW files are sensor data and don't have an embedded profile. RAW converters digest that sensor data and produce a file in some color space, but you get to choose which one as part of conversion. Some cameras (like my 5D Mk II) allow me to choose color space for JPEGs when produced in camera.
Lightroom's default is Profoto RGB internally for its renderings of imported RAW files, and when you export files (or edit them in Photoshop) you get to choose what color space you want delivered. Lightroom will do a profile conversion for you - nothing will look any different except if there are out of gamut colors in the image. So I always edit in Photoshop in Adobe RGB 16 bit and that's the conversion Lightroom does when I select Edit in Photoshop.

may i ask what is the color profile of our original raw files? i shoot raw and processed in lightroom, and if i edit the dng in photoshop, the profile is prophoto, is that defaulted setting of camera?

if you check the advertisement poster now, the date is 23 Feb??? it was previously 14 Feb?? so it seems the date is ever changing for 'new contributor'? I submitted my first 50 images last year end when i saw this thread, and when i checked back the site i saw the poster mentioned 14 Feb, so i thought it is extended period, so i submitted more recently but i was told that the recent uploaded images aren't considered as bonus scheme. If the date is updated every week for new contributors, i hope it is stated clearly as we are all aware. The poster info is misleading that i thought i am still 'new contributor' under the bonus scheme. I struggled the last few days with the uploading without ftp and realized i get nothing. .We now have an FTP set up for contributors. If you wish to use this then please drop us an email and we will set you up with an account. .Johnnie
The bonus program ends Monday, wonder if they will get back to us prior to Monday with the FTP info; there is no way I can upload the bonus images individually to this website without ftp, just to time consuming.

oic, i googled a bit and found this link, so there are more color to work with in adobe 1998.. guess it is the 'safe' choice.. http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/sRGB-AdobeRGB1998.htmNo way! dont set anything but the Adobe-rgb, dont you understand? Adobe-rgb, is our industry standard!!! thats what 99% in the stock world use. The srgb, is associated with webb shots only. Most of these agencies sell for prints, or webb, up to XXXL sizes, therefore you want to work in a wide color-space such as adobe-rgb, many even work in Prophoto, an even wider space.
BTW, your camera should also be set to adobe-rgb.

ah sorry, i mean 255,255,255.. By the way, i used pen tool to isolated object all the time..in order to achieve pure white background. I wonder is it possible to achieve perfect pure white background with good lighting? when we shot isolated item, does it has to be pure white? like 0,0,255?
0,0,255 is pure BLUE

You should always work in Adobe-rgb, its a far wider gaumont then srgb. The Adobe-rgb, is the industry standard.

Hi all,
I usually convert my raw file to jpg in lightroom, and export and choose sRGB as color profile..
I happened to open the raw file and edit in photoshop, then i 'save as' jpg but the color appears dull, and i notice the color space is 'prophoto' as i think it could be the reason.
But i found no way to change the color space..do i need to save the dng file to tiff first? how can i save a jpg in sRGB from a dng in photoshop CS5?
THANKS!

i was asked to enter name, country and some info that is available to public for my model release.
I don't see any reason that make my model profile available to everyone, instead of just for buyers who had downloaded the image.
Is there a way to attach model release without making the model profile for public?
thanks.

i got some royalties in my account, i can't tell is it the sales of my images or the bonus for uploading?
has the bonus had been calculated and paid?
and why there is no FTP? I am not sure is it my internet connection slow since i kept having failure during uploading with no way to resume uploading.

My portable hard disk just had problem again..
I tried the trial version of Kernel Recovery and it seems able to retrieve all the data, but I will need to buy it if i want to copy the data.
So before i pay anything, any data recovery software which is freeware?
thanks.
