I thought about it today until I saw that they can use my photograph at any time and as many times as they want without compensation.
Thanks - Jonathan
Part of the problem (and I suspect part of the whole reason for contests) is that if the terms of the contest allow the contest organizer to use images for free, they can use all of the images submitted. So, even if you don't win, they can use your images. Nothing gained for you, they get access to a slew of great images.
So generally, no I don't enter contests.
Yes, what a great ploy for those people to freely and usually in an unlimited manner use your photo(s). Even tho you retain copyright, they can use it in perpetuity. Fogetaboutit

seems that the 'old' is 'new' again with creatives going to be more and more in demand as opposed to traditional stock Offset is certainly catering to that market - and offering them at a premium.
There must be more demand from the bigger ad houses , because SS is on top of their game. They wouldnt be wasting resources creating this new branch if they didnt strongly feel that this is a worthwhile direction to go in.
It would be refreshing to have 'less than technically perfect' images come into play again

So, Linda.... how did you get on in that meeting..?
SCENE 1. Daylight
tumbleweed. the toll of a distant bell. no word has issued from the royal court, thus the peasants drift back to their daily toil, none the wiser.

The thief is still denying he did anything wrong and still has the image on his instagram account: http://instagram.com/bogdhan
Even when caught red-handed, these jokers still think they can fool anyone.

I thought they bought most of their images from Alamy - and usually for a descent price of $29

if this is another contributor - why would he jeopardize his own portfolio on SS by bringing up a false claim? Does he really think that he would be successful in proving beyond a doubt that that is actually him in the photo? This whole scenario sounds a little bit wacko
Hopefully, you still have the original images (esp raw) as proof ... and hope you get some releif from this strange situation.
What kind of person does this?

different sites have differing licences, some allow you to use an image unlimited ( within the restrictions of the licence) for a period of one year , others dont have a time restriction anywho - that is in essence microstock - cheap images for a very wide and generous terms of use. "this is what I signed up for ?" is a question I ask myself many times

get a gorillapod - light, versatile, and small
... but utterly useless for a heavy pro-DSLR with L glass.
no - I have a fullframe Canon 5d m2 and have used it with the 16-35 and 24 - 105 lens without issue. I have not tried it with a larger zoom lens i.e. 100 -400 the pod I used it was was their biggest one - it is an X model I beleive

what a $hitty attitude many people on here have - only to bash, critisize, deride others. If you thing this is a joke collection to your standards - move on. All the guy offered was a service of promotion to those who were interested. If its not your cup of tea - buzz off

Is it worthwhile to upload video to sell through Alamy?
What would you say both about the process of uploading and about sales
thx

some things to consider -
who's the client - how well is this inage doing for you
I would roughly say from $800 and up from there

I cant remember when they started the 25c subs - but they do good volume and with the occassional EL and SOD sales its the best agency out there at this point in time

Ha, yes lol. How do you like Shutterstock outside of that?
I can't talk about video as I don't do it, but ss on the whole is a well-oiled machine. They seldom don't produce for contributors. Introducing 25 cent subs on BS though sets off alarm bells. Will they one day do an IS and get greedy.
It will be a dark day when Shutterstock introduces 25 cent subs.
ummm..... they do 25c subs, and then you go up the tier as your sales increase
