I decided to start uploading because of the poll results, looks like better then 123RF, Alamy, Dreamstime, ecc., and I'm already selling on those agencies.
So is that poll old?
It's an indication at best. But the results are old and the sample isn't big enough to have any statistical significance.
And possibly figures are mainly people selling videos. I only have a small port but all those you mention sell much better for me than Pond 5. I sell virtually nothing there.
I believe this is correct in that they are primarily a video site...images very low sales

Okay, I managed to log in to Adobe Stock, but there was no specific reason for the video file technical rejection; just a laundry list of possiblities....is it really that much work for an inspector to type a few words as to specifically what is wrong?!? If it is an automated response, the software by definition "knows" why the file was rejected and should put the specific technical reason in the rejection notice...Very disappointing and non-contributor focused!

I have a Fotolia contributor account and tried to sign into Adobe Stock for the first time with my Fotolia ID and password and it did not work. What do I do? I need to sign in to Adobe, because it seems to be the only way to find out what the "Technical Error" was in my video submission

Adobe is the one to keep our eyes on! They dwarf Getty in being able to reach the market!
I hope you are right, but personally, I am still seeing about a 3.5:1 ratio between SS earnings and Adobe/FT earnings...of course if Adobe sold editorial that gap would shrink significantly.

We got best results from Pond5, but Shutterstock isn't that bad either. But SS does complicate with events with pre-sent accreditations with allowance for recording editorial footage.

When did the new release come out? I had been using the current IS release for all my submissions with no issue...but haven't submitted anything very recently. Wonder if they will still take the current IS release?...
Just checked on SS site. The latest release is dated 2012...did I miss something here?...is there a newer release somewhere?

Is an "Adobe ID" specific to the Adobe Stock site or is it something broader than that? For example, I have an ID I have used to log into the Adobe webstore. The answer to my question is yes...i.e. I tried it and it worked.

Sometimes I wonder with all the hype about clips...how much do they really sell?....is it more for the future?
Of course they do sell, but they are also harder to produce as compared to stills. Given that difference in effort, are clips worth the extra effort?
If you had a library of 3000 quality stills vs. 3000 quality clips, how would the income streams compare?
I understand it is hard to compare "quality", but let's say you had some scenarios, whether it be people in the workplace, or people in a restaurant and
you created a series of stills vs. a series of clips, how would the sales compare, taking into account, that it is much easier to create more stills than clips
for a given scenario (implying that you would generate more stills that clips from a given scenario). If you do both clips and stills for a given scenario,
the question still remains as you have limited time and resources in a shoot and that will limit your "output".

I've shot a 5D III for several years now. I've been saving up for the 5DS R because I want the high resolution for my landscapes and studio work. I expect to use the 5D III for my carry-around camera and for what little event, concert and sports type of work I do.
When I decide to replace the 5D III I'll probably go mirror-less since that'll make more sense in a walk-around camera. I expect to keep shooting the 5DS R in the studio and for landscapes for several years.
So, no real interest in the 5D IV for me.
Don't overlook the importance of the reduced shadow noise/increased dynamic range of the 5d4 vs. 5dsr

Part of the problem there is the massive rejections. They are picking and choosing pictures based on their perceived need, and since they do not have a means to house a very large collection, they try to avoid having too many pictures on the same theme.
I wrote to them a while back asking why so many rejections and that's what they told me anyway, not with the same words, but basically that. And that they were thinking about creating an artist hub where they would communicate to us their needs.
I haven't uploaded there in a long time. IT is a waste of my precious time.
Doesn't sound very encouraging. Regarding not having the means to store a large collection...don't quite get that, it's not as if they are putting video tapes in cardboard boxes.

Well, if you're a stills only guy shooting Canon, why not 5DS R?

Was told by Canon there is much more noise in the 5DS R then the 5d1V
That may be true, but the 5dsr is 50mp with no filter over the sensor, so I'm guessing better detail? You would have to selectively control noise manually if it is an issue. It's a tradeoff. If I was shooting landscapes for print I would take this camera over the new one.
I think we should wait and see what testing reveals. The general consensus is that the 5d4 has the latest sensor tech (specifically on-chip A/D's) which should yield lower shadow noise and therefore better shadow detail. You combine that with the fact that going from 30 to 50 MP isn't really that big a leap from a linear resolution perspective...it may turn out that you may get a better overall result with the 5D4....we will see! It is interesting though that there has been no discussion regarding the anti-alias filter.

Let's also not forget that I believe the RC system is due a major revamp or replacement before the year is out. This could could have major impact one way or the other.
