So trying to send a semi unified statement, by removing the traffic that we can control is a bad thing ? what if by some miracle enough unhappy contributer makes an effort, and it actually made an impact wouldn't that maybe make the other stock reconsider pulling the same lame greedy decisions?

General Stock Discussion / Ads« on: November 30, 2010, 09:46 »
Hi
First of i really have no idea of the way google adds works, but seeing adds for SS, Dt etc. on some of the "pirate sites" that offer free downloads of stock material seems .... well just plain wrong. http://img5.imageshack.us/i/dreamstimeedited.jpg/ 94
Shutterstock.com / Re: This "Artist" Bragges about how she stole my work from SS« on: November 25, 2010, 15:32 »
There are so many of these sites its sad, even if you get the isp to shut down the hosting of a site they are back on line within a day or two with some other host, but what tickles my balls even more is to see ads from shutter stock and dreamstime etc. on these sites

iStockPhoto.com / Re: So what are we all going to do?« on: September 11, 2010, 19:45 »
Most already have done something similar to what Istock just pulled off at a smaller scale perhaps, but its the future i guess if Istock can get away with it every agency can.

Veer because it's Corbis would really be a slap in the face for Getty

iStockPhoto.com / Re: iStock changing royalty structure« on: September 07, 2010, 18:08 »It's all about the designers, and if you guys really want to make a statement, it's going to have to be with buyers. Frankly, istock probably doesn't care if a few people delete their portfolios or stop uploading. If they are going to feel any impact from this, it'll have to come from buyers. If you're a designer and purchase stock images, look elsewhere from now on. If you know people who buy from istock, let them know what's going on and that they could actually save money AND support artists by taking their business elsewhere. Hope more buyers will read and agree on this, there has got to be a limit to how greedy you can get without consequences. |
