I have no doubts that in time sales grow because customers need time to finalize their projects. Many of my series only really start to sell regularly after 18 months, see example below.
But I doubt that the 1300 files I uploaded 11 years ago, followed by a gigantic break, gives me such an extreme advantage.
Especially if I compare my sales with people who have been uploading consistently, now have 20k files, but less sales than me.
They should all be outselling me, but they are not.
However in all the cases I have come across it is ports that are produce centric i.e. the producer is uploading their personal favorite files and not buyer centric, i.e. they have a targeted a buyer group, spend a lot of time on research try to to plug the niches or at lest have a systematic approach in growing their ports.
So...time spent on research beats time in having "anything" online.
And newbies can outsell a 20 year old port if they find the right customer group.
Here is a very simple photo, not ai, that only started to sell regularly now. Uploaded in Sept 22, it only had one sale in all of 23, now it has 18 downloads. Nothing special about it, also not seasonal. It just took time from being collected and lightboxed to being used.
I sincerely hope 2025 is much better than 24, although i doubt i will have over 100% month on month again.

But, do you have to pay in order to upload content to Wirestock? Some time ago i tried to upload some images, however i couldn't becuase i have to upgrade! 
They have a free offer (which I don't use) to upload to the Marketplace, which is their own kind of online agency. Maybe someone will have a sale or income from that? It looks like a dead end. Subscription as far as I can see.

Yes, to upload to the agencies you have to pay for the right. $179 a year, you get AI, 200 uploads, free keywording and contests. There's more, but the point is, Marketplace is free and then the images are sold via subscription. . I find nothing attractive in paying to upload to a distribution site, and I don't need AI, especially a pay version when there are still free sites around.
If anyone has any return or has ever got a cent from Marketplace, I hope they will post something here.

Hands doing something is usually a theme that sells well. If you document daily life processes, cooking cleaning, repairing the bicycle, building furniture, working in the garden, hands of a nurse helping people...it usually sells.
If you want regular sales, you must upload regularly, ideally every week, minimum every month.
If you give us a link we can give more useful suggestions.
There are a lot of people here with experience.
You don't need to do any ai, lots of people making money with no ai in port.
Maybe think of a good video theme to keep working on. There is a lot less content with video, lots of areas wide open.
Recognizable people with a model release still is the best moneymaker.
Have you considered doing editorial video with people? There is a thread on pond5 where people share sales and there is a lot of editorial people in there.
The main issue is: how much time are you ready to invest.
In terms of absolute money you will make money much faster if you do other things.
Stock sales grow very slowly.
So for some people doing it as a hobby and just uploading their hobby images is the best solution.

How long have you been uploading?
Is this a very new port? It takes time for buyers to find your content.
Or did you perhaps not upload for a long time? Not uploading regularly makes your port invisible to customers.
If you would like more detailed suggestions, just give us a link to your port and we can all pitch in.
Also how much do you upload every week, what is your genre etc
Your sales can be improved.
Hello,thanks for your suggestions! I haven't uploaded images since February 2024. I started with Fotolia. I don't have AI content. I only have photos, 3D renders, vectors and 3 videos. I didn't make more images because I watch too much AI content and don't use it. My images do not have recognizable people, only the hands of one of them.

That's pretty bad honestly. Maybe you are creating images you like and not necessarily the images people would want to buy and use. Often the most boring images sell more than the beautiful images because of market saturation and lack of demand.

same here ... i use c4d and octane ... my last videos have been rejected as AI ... you need to make a property release for the project/video you are submitting .... i made as told by the adobe assistant and now my videos have been accepted ... always submit the video with the property release ...
But you are creating a video using C4D, property release it is for properties in the real world i think. I supossed all the models you are using in C4D you are the owner.

I'm not with that scumbag agency any longer so I don't recall exactly the process, but I had to request my payout. I don't recall if you could set it to auto pay when it hit the $50 or if you are forced to ask for the money every payout.

The final cashout process does not trigger an email confirmation, so it's normal to not get one. We won't start sending payments until the site is closed and sales are finished, to ensure everyone gets paid their final account balance - so no worries if a sale comes in after you submitted your payment request.
Also, thanks to everyone for their support over the years. It's been a fun ride for the last ~20 years!

No. I am seriously considering just dropping this stock industry crap and start drawing... I could boost sales of my artwork through my filming knowledge and make better money. Just thinking about making investments FOR making stock footage and then getting rejected makes me sick to my stomach. Meanwhile I had 95% approval rate with all AI generated images and had many sales already. Makes you think twice about what should be the logical course of action. There is a good saying: "The only way of making money in photography is by selling all your gear."
But there are people who photograph weddings and make more money than in stock photography. You could venture into that business, but that requires assistants, specialization and equipment.

Though I did receive my final payment without any problem, I have had trouble getting my earnings from them in the past. You need to keep bugging them about it, I told them I would file a complaint with the BBB and eventually I did get my money
How did you contact CanStock? I would like they paid me some money!
I contacted them through support while they were still up and running. They responded at the beginning then they ignored me but I still kept at it, threatening to file a complaint at the BBB.
Don't stop bugging them until you get your money. I think Duncan has an account here, you can try sending him a pm.
