They offer this for $329:
"UNLIMITED DOWNLOADS PhotoSpin is the only subscription on the market that offers a truly unlimited service. You will have access to download as many images as you like during the term of your subscription. No limits."
That is....no comment....
I wonder how much they pay contributors?

Actually they are quite easy to take, you have to be out early morning sunrise, the dew is very thick then and the insects are immoblized by it and the morning chill. You need a good macro lens if you are using a dslr.
Actually you are right! I forgot about the early morning. Sue, don't cry the insects are alive Bes need at least 18 degrees C to take off. Don't know about dragonflies and flies, but it's probably at least 12-15 degrees C.

Well, he couldn't take these images if insects were alive, that's for sure. He probably did freeze them with a spray. Anyway, beautiful images.

Actually, nothing would happen to us if we are drawn into a black hole. Yes, we would evaporate and be annihilated for those who watch the whole process You will be ripped apart mechanically by the tidal forces as you approach the center of gravity. You will not evaporate since black holes are focuses of gravity, not of heat. But as you approach the speed of light, the time around you will extend compared to a relative stationary observer, so it will seem forever. Nobody outside the horizon of the black hole can "watch" the process as light can't escape. You should read more of Asimov.
It's possible to be dead and alive at the same moment....also, the information about you remains untouched. So, even if you disappear into a black hole the information about you remains The information about you is stored in your myriads of synapses and their synaptic strength weights. As your brain gets ripped apart at first by the tidal forces, then concentrated in one point, the information that is "you" will be annihilated. There is still no way to make eggs again from the omelet. Your hard disk has gone through a shredder and that's it.
The only way "you" can be preserved is through a future technological process that can store the morphology of all your synapses (10 billion cells x an average of 1,000 synapses per cell = 10^^13) and their respective weights and cellular properties. "You" can be restored then in a bionic brain with exactly the same morphology of cells and synapses with the reloaded strength weights.
I think you'll need a Mac for that.
Actually, it's much more info than just synapses Also, you disappear for the rest of the world...but for you... hmm.. no one really knows. Some say that's just extremely bended space, and if you are in it, you are bended too. Many of us already are tho

I will just mention Yaymicro again, which payment is automatic. When you click payment button the money is already in your PayPal account. If Yaymicro can do it everyone can. And, I think it's OK to wait 7-10 days, but longer than that... I mean, if they send me money in envelope it would come to me in that period. Maybe it's because I belong to Fotolia.us and they have to send money to Moneybookers which is in Europe.. But again, that is not some excuse.

Actually, nothing would happen to us if we are drawn into a black hole. Yes, we would evaporate and be annihilated for those who watch the whole process, but from our point of view we would be still alive...at least that's what theory says. It's possible to be dead and alive at the same moment....also, the information about you remains untouched. So, even if you disappear into a black hole the information about you remains, and someone powerful enough could recreate you... So, the answer is probably "Your soul will survive"

I agree Adelaide. That's what I thought when I said "manipulation"

Peter, you've always doing good at Fotolia, so it's not strange that you still sell there. But after experiencing Yaymicro's immediate payment after clicking "payment" button I can't believe they just being "slow in payouts". 3-4 weeks is more than just "slow". They are manipulating something, or they have real problems. There is no other excuse for such slow payout. (Third reason could be that they don't give a dam about it because they are in position to do so, which I don't want to believe) Also, I doubt anyone is doing "better than ever" these days in this economy. Anyway, keeping other people money 25 days or more is a little bit out of the line, no matter what is the reason.

Obviously agencies are not so unhappy with money they already earn.

Many of these are probably stolen using trojan viruses and stealing other peoples usernames and password, stealing credit cards information and that sort of things. How many times we heard here about hijacked accounts. But again, they can buy more images on subs websites, of course.

Yes, they keep stealing and uploading new images every day. But this is just one website. Do we agree to search internet every day and report it to rapidshare, megauplaod and others everyday about things like this? We shouldn't stop after shutting down these links today.

Pirates can't really follow that tempo.
the sad thing is how much time and energy these guys are spending in order to save what ? a 0.10$ subscription for lowres RF images ?
Actually, I think stock images are not so important to them. They are sharing everything. By posting popular stuff on their blogs they are earning points for rapidshare and other services. The more people downloaded things they uploaded, the more points they get. The more points they get the more money they get from rapidshare. It's all about money. If they have decent amount of downloaders, they can earn decent money this way, especially if they live in poor parts of the world.

I can see your photos. Here is what I think. First, all images submitted here are the same subject (except one with a flower). The image number 2 has blown-out sky and the part of the building on the right side. Also, this image looks like you applied too much of contrast, and/or sharpening. You should straighten the horizon on the image taken from the top of the tower. The first image looks blurred on the left side...check that out, I'm not completely sure because I can't see it at 100% size. I don't think this flower will pass the application. If you want to take the image of a flower it should be really extraordinary, and not just beautiful. They have tons of flowers. Do you need a property release for any of these buildings? Did you erase every logo? Otherwise, we can't see images at 100%, so we can't judge about noise, artifacts or banding because of overprocessing.
You are not bad at all. These are all small things, but for the application, you have to pay attention on them too.

I agree with both, Lica and Stocastic. Lisa, I think that one person who would be paid to search for these kind of websites would pay off quickly. It seems that agencies don't really care much about it. Probably because they get tens of thousands of new images every week from us. Pirates can't really follow that tempo.

They know about this problem but they probably wont react until someone point at the problematic files. They make a living out of storing uploaded files, so they need as many uploaded files as possible. Also, many files are archived and under password. They can't brake the password and see the content of the archive. But I know that they will remove the file if someone writes them.

One way is to report it to rapidshare, megauplaod, deposit files, file factory and other services where these files are stored. They will delete files, but posters will upload them again, and again. So, I think there should be people who work for stock agencies who will search websites like this and just doing on making reports and ask for deletion. Agencies, and photographers are loosing lots of money because of websites like this.
