I think the rejection reasons go through phases.. focus one month, compo or lighting the next wait 'til IS contributors start going through the same thing...

Hello everyone,
The nature of the bug / issue is that it's not something that affects everyone at all times, which is why one user might report the submission process as fine and another will report seeing problems. The team is actively working on a fix right now; we'll update when that's in place.
Best,
Scott
Thanks Scott for keeping us updated. I think most of us here love SS Oh, one more thing while your fixing that bug - can you get rid of Attila while your cleaning house?

To be honest I think this discussion is over. There have been National Geographic photos traced. That is a massive legal minefield for SS.
By your own admission you cannot regulate your workers, you cannot legitimately tick the box saying you certify the work is your own, so you can't indemnify the stock agency.
No legit stock site will touch you now I am afraid, any site that reads this thread is in the position that if they accept your work they do so knowing that you can't say whether it is stolen or not. I guess they need to rethink taking work from big studios in general.
They need to cover their a** now, sorry if you legitimately didn't know what was going on, but you should of, fin.
wow this is just pathetic - repeat offender, and as was pointed out someone who is clearly NOT in control of their business or chooses Not to be in control sorry, there has to be a line drawn somewhere by th ms sites, and if you have a PATTERN or PRACTICE of crossing that line - even unwittingly - it is the consequence you have to face We all sign up under the same terms, and it is up to us to live up to our end of the business agreement, end of story I do not pity repeat offenders, I pity the original artists that got hosed out of what should belong to them for their works

If the theif has made hundreds of thousands of $ - well then so has the ms site. That is a LOT of revenue, and you wonder how much harder it is to be motivated for them to shut down someone like this, when your own pockets are getting stuffed with money?
I truly feel sorry for the original artists like yourself that have invested time and creativity to producing vectors, only to have a scumbags come steal them and rip you off. I hope they get shut down pronto. And its kudos to you and others that find such violators and post them on these forums, so that ALL artists are aware of whats going on, and together to try to do something about it!

That really stinks... I think I would cry too if that happenned to me on an exotic/once in a lifetime type trip. Like others have said, its always good to get in the habit of transferring your files onto a usb stick and/or using services such as Dropbox - no need to worry even if your laptop or computer goes down your files are secure. Heres a shameless plug and a link to Dropbox : http://db.tt/Pr9FPZk1Really hoping you can recover most of your friends images, so that all is not lost...

be prepared to be put through the griller at those critique forums, the standards are very, very high at those sites, but if you got the gumption to learn, you will be a better photographer for it.

they are painfully slow sales for me - few and far between

i was stuck around $45 for a bit - and blamo! had a over $25 sale - so you never know when youll get a nice one.
For what its worth cs is a small site - slower sales , but when I get a nice $10- 25 sale I have to say I'm glad that a smaller site can still be offering some nice sales, even though it may only be once in a while...

I was wondering how long it took you to get on Shutterstock. Last three times I have been unsuccessful.
1. 5 Accepted. 2. 4 Accepted, resubmitted original 5 accepted plus 5 new. Only 3 of 5 originals accepted plus 1 new. 3. 3 Accepted, resubmitted 4 that passed last time plus 6 new. only 1 from last time accepted plus 2 new.
Overall have had 9 files approved but never at the same time. 1 file passed all 3 submissions. Seem to fail for composition. The approval seems very subjective. Hope to have more luck next time.
First off - don't get discouraged Secondly, post your pics here or on SS forum for critique, and try to learn from the feedback you get SS is not easy breezy to get accepted - and even when you get in you have to still get used to rejections - sometimes for reasons that seem arbitrary, even the best contributors have to put up with that

Maybe something has changed?
I think it's a couple of rogue reviewers. Either that or they have dramatically tightened down on acceptance rates. I've been averaging 80-100% acceptance on most batches there for the past several months, then for the last two batches, 17/20 rejected, most for focus. The same images were accepted 80-100% on all other agencies and are similar in quality to those that received high acceptance previously. Will downsize and resubmit most of them to see what happens - in the past that has worked fine but not so confident now.
+!10 There is no rhyme nor reason to many rejections I can handle a certain amount not passing scrutiny, but I have been rejected for nosie -when there was none - even at 200% so, yes reviewers dont always get it right - frankly I think if they find a couple with nosie or oof then they will nail almost the entire batch SS please teach your reviewers properly, and not to have a 'god' complex
