@domencolja : thanx, I totally agree with all that you've said.
The question is : Is this really an issue ?

domencolja, you should post this on the SS forum  ;)

752
Thank you for your answer !
but it is in fact the thread I was referring to.
Just hoped there was hope outside SS !   :D

In fact, I'm not sure the video solves the problem, as said on SS forum. I'm watching it now. (and hope to understand all that is said, because i'm not so much at ease with spoken english).

Hi all.
These frustrating rejections happen there : "Color Profiles--Your image contains both RGB and CMYK color profiles. Please resubmit your vector with only 1 color profile". The problem seems to be complex as seen on SS forum, and depends on software version used to convert into eps, and to read eps.
Is there anybody who knows how to get rid off that ?
I am still searching...
(and waiting a raise for illustrations there too  :-\ ).

Hello,
I informed them of this site, and they told me that a standard licence may have been bought by them. They did not even bought a standard licence, and I must say that the sites from where these pictures are taken should consider this and do something to stop such use of their (our...) contents.

New Sites - General / Re: Pixburger, new in europe
« on: April 07, 2008, 15:11 »
Yes Sybille, yaymicro is really the opposite in terms of speed of indexation.
The problems you have on pixburger are strange, or maybe they are working at this moment on this side, I don't konw, but this was not reported by actual users, for what I know. But well, this aspect will be less important if the place becomes a good selling one in the future. Concerning these sites, I consider them just as investment for future, because things are changing and have to ;)

Hello Patrick,
I guess you are in a need of friends here.
Thank you for having supposed I was naive, two times. It sometimes sounds like a quality from my point of view. For sure, yours may be quite different.
With such a position, you should be at this time someone exclusive at Istock.

You can stop your illusion regarding the referal thing, I earned about 35 euros in one year from my referals, wooooow! I'm rich !  ;)
Well, i saw we have the same number of referred members at dreamstime, how much did you get yourself ?
Is the refferal thing something we have to be ashamed (or jealous) ?

I thought that the information concerning that new incomer could be interesting for some people.
By the way, we all can have our opinion about stock, but please don't think someone is naive when he thinks different.

760
Hey Vonkara, seems to be your equation is not so successful..
your "downloads per image"  is 0.55 on DT  :D
(yep, you joined recently, just kidding you ;) )
And for Istock, just because encyclopedia books are heavy !

Dino, "in french for now" because it's in beta. Fotolia started the same way ;)
Well, it is just the very early phase.

FlemishDreams : "girl", "girls", "fille" and "filles" return the pictures, you can try it !  ???
and you can see that typical stock stuff is something they mostly have.

New Sites - General / Pixburger, new in europe
« on: March 22, 2008, 06:35 »
Hello,
for the people who can understand some French, a new microstock agency has just opened. We heard about it for months in France, and finally opened.
It's in beta, and only readable in french for now, but you can already do the indexation in English and send files by FTP, the system works with iptc/xmp data, and translation is done by the search engine.
The currency is euro :)

Pixburger belongs an european group: Fotovista (Pixmania, Foci..., 1200 employees, 6 million customers...) and  I am sure they will do it well. Both stock and editorial can be sold.
The website really gives a professionnal feeling and has very interesting features.
Photographer Royalties are 40%. Prices are 1 credit for lowres, 5 for highres, 49 for extended and 99 for one year exclusivity and editorial. This sounds interesting to me.

Erf, That is a suggestion I made in the LuckyOliver's Odditorium, 5 months ago.
Look at here : http://www.luckyoliver.com/odditorium/post/568/sale_information...
I believed that LO was the place for innovation but...

I am really happy that it is at last done by one site. Well played Dreamstime !
I think that in the past times, microstock websites had to have big pockets. In the future, they have to prove they have got a heart (and ears...)  ;)

Microstock News / Re: Keyword research and science.
« on: January 09, 2008, 05:25 »
Keywords longer then 8 characters account for less then 10% of the total search rank from all keywords.
Yuri, your first post contents only 8.8 % of words longer than 8 characters. This kind of information just means... nothing. Maybe words longer than 8 characters simply count for less than 10% of all english/american words... ?
The keywords: splat, splatter, award, happy hour are highly searched for but no one uses them.
Here we are, and I really hope that this kind of information would be shared in public by this unnamed site, for the good of both contributorS and agency, and will not be kept as a secret of gods ;)

Btw, this is a very cool idea, and I'm also ready if you need some more beta testers ! :)

Bigstock.com / Re: Big vs 123RF
« on: August 07, 2007, 18:34 »
At BigStock, I did 45 times less last month than in April, where I had no special license sale. Why ? I have no explanation... For me, the site is just dead now, whereas I upload regularly. Their upload process is too boring. I think I will give up.
At 123rf, sales are regular for me and are growing, upload process is pleasant.
