Illustration - General / Re: regarding older Adobe software.
« on: August 31, 2021, 08:51 »
I could not do without creative suite (PS and LR), for the updates and useful features that improve my workflow. But, I use Illustrator cs2 for vectors for many years (issued 16 years ago), and this one still works perfectly on windows10.

And if they put the effort into direct sales that they did into helping get my work in front of buyers within agencies, then good.

Yes, and they did it for everyone! thousands people has his work in front!... BIG front!!!  ::)  ;)

But if we imagine that this "agency" closes in the future. What would happen with images?

Photo Critique / Re: What to do with these photos?
« on: August 02, 2021, 11:43 »
Wow. Hem. I've got an idea about what I would do with them but... I prefer keep it for myself ;) no... seriously...  :-\

9
no kidding about images selling for .02  :-[

Good price for snapshots btw, and there are many in the collections...

10
I don't hurt myself anymore and don't want to be informed about all the abuses concerning my images anymore. I saw enough during years and there is whatever nothing to do, except loosing time, energy and confidence in human being. I prefer be ignorant, it's better for producing more images that will be stolen and sold for pennies penny (-> our future  ;D).

« on: June 17, 2021, 03:39 »
Congrats whosvegas!

I write my own ssh scripts for many years for uploading.
But, I have got an issue with ftps and Shutterstock, seems to be ssl is not permitted in ssh (why do they not use sftp???).

If someone has got a solution?
Thank you

I found violation of my work here.
I reported, and they acted deleting the files but...

The sellers are allowed to continue without any issues... only files reported are deleted.

Selling Stock Direct / Re: Selling at Own Website
« on: May 17, 2021, 04:34 »
Last time I did googleads (I think about 6-7 years ago), it was very expensive and ineffective. A lot of (larger) companies use very sophisticated software that literally bids on 10's of thousands of keyword variations of ads, steals/monitors "success" of competitors, and adapts their ads to yours to try and steal your customers.

If you are a single person trying google ads and have no experience with backend sales/marketing, you'd have a better chance at winning $10,000 at the slot machines, than you would be profitable via google ads.
You are so true! Google just promises you visitors, not sales. And you can get ton of visitors who are not buyers but clickers. Google takes the money for non valuable visits. I will never experiment this again.

To the op :
Your statement: "capturing and submitting editorial photos in a legal mess, but as the risk is very small its not something I would worry about"
Maybe you should have more respect for people in public places (I remember picture of homeless people that you sell without their consent).
Spannish "Aggressive Shepherd-Painter" is agressive but... maybe we can understand his reaction.

Be sure not use "please" in a message asking...
Who are you since you are a newcomer?

General Stock Discussion / Re: FEATUREPICS IS CLOSING.
« on: January 31, 2021, 13:57 »
If you go on "Your Portfolio", you can read :

FeaturePics Management thanks you for your support over the past several years. We have invested a lot of time over the years without significant money returns. We have decided to wind down FeaturePics to pursue other opportunities.

We understand that some of you have earned royalties in your FeaturePics account, and we intend to pay these. To make this possible we plan to continue to operate FeaturePics for the next four to six months on a limited basis so everybody has time to post payment requests.

We are not planning to accept new images during this time. When we close FeaturePics, the images and our multiple sets of backups that you have uploaded will be deleted as the final step.

Does that mean that files will keep be on sale during the 4, 6 months, and after the payment request?...  :-\

They don't care Whoever owns the copyright, they don't care since they make the same money. They probably won't take any action, I have contacted them in the past for a thief reselling my work, they didn't took any action.
So it is these days.

Does it happen to you too?
I changed my link in my SS profile and I discovered that SS is tampering with it, redirecting the URL at a dull website of home improvement.
Have a look at my ss profile https://www.shutterstock.com/g/gameover/about
Maybe it is just me, but... childish, uh?
Shutterstock new policy is humiliating its contributors paying peanuts for their creative work. To find me please follow the link below.

Interesting, since I clicked the first link and lots of what you consider "creative work" consists in selling scans of illustrations from old books, illustrations (even paintings) you did not create of course (childish, uh?). Is "creative" the way you push the button on the scan? And you claim to earn more than pennies from this? By honesty, you simply should NOT. You are not well placed to speak for genuine creative artist investing lots of time and efforts to produce quality and original work. Thes ones have the right to complain.

Of course I am, that's why I didn't visit your link.

Yaymicro / Re: Yay reopening??
« on: April 24, 2020, 13:21 »
First of all for some reason they are trying to spin that they are newly formed. Yayimages is not newly formed, they have been around at least 4 years if not longer. 4 years is by no stretch of the imagination newly formed.

I registered 2008/03/20...   so, more than 12 years ago... you don't know anything about them and should keep your statements for yourself.
