I swear she had one just like that, but the silhouettes I remember there aren't there now.  Sorry.

It does look a lot like generic's though.

re: 3 wise men

That looks exactly like kim58(?)'s work.  I feel no pity.  Sorry.

That's not so important, what is important ...

Man, that question was deflected so quickly I almost couldn't get out of the way.

I bought a spooky broom at a craft festival yesterday, for Halloween pictures.

There's a lot of smiling business people out there.

Yes, but I didn't start by saying "I need to get 200 files up this week" as the first thing I set out to do.

No, the numbers really aren't everything.

Why don't you set your goal for getting some good quality, concept images accepted, and don't worry about the numbers?

7685
Environmental portraiture sells much better than in-studio work. It's also easier and more interesting to do. Take a cue from Yuri, who says that that finding a good location is a top priority - so much so that he even outsources the job!

If you look closely at his business shots, most of them look like they are done at a table in a cafeteria, which shows what you can get away with, with composition.

7686
Looks good at the end, but 3:35 is a long time to say "Make a black gradient over the sky and switch it to overlay"...

Cameras / Lenses / Re: Buying your very first DSLR?

Silly advice.  You don't know if you are "serious" about photography until you start with an SLR.

7688
Tell him to suck it up and pay what the cost of what he wants.

7689
Well, the IS referral is only for buyers...

I'd come up with the Million Dollar Hompage.

It has sold all right :)

Yours is better composed, has better color, and a better expression.  The top one is sort of dull, on an old wood table, and the expression is just kind of squinched up.  JMO...

General Stock Discussion / Re: Getty's new guidelines

From a mail back on feb 1st, I assume sent to everyone:
From 1st February 2008, it is no longer a Submission Requirement to use any version of the Getty Images Preflight tool to verify and convert your images prior to submission.

Actually, they got rid of Preflight a month or two ago.

Create a UBB link, like any other forum link, to your lightbox or search.  Create an image, put it on the web somewere.  Stick a UBB tag to the image inside the UBB link above.

IS paid out $21,000,000
Yuri makes (I think) $100,000 a month from IS

Thats more like 6%

He does not hardly make $100000 a month on IS.

Guess what, too.  There's a market out there for something besides the same 5 people sitting around a table in a building lobby with computers :)

7695
He also told me that the key is to join every new site you find and that biggest photographers are on 13-15 microstock sites...

What a waste of time!  I can't believe that is good advice.

7696
You're assuming a buyer will buy the first image they see instead of the one they want.

Microstock News / Re: 2008 Orphan Works Bill Introduced
« on: April 28, 2008, 07:55 »
If you use Photoshop; in the File Info under origin add your name to credit and under source add your website to each and every image. This will provide name and contact and it is defense against the Orphan Bill.

Because you can't just copy the image into a new document, or erase the info?  This is no protection at all.
