2.1.5 - uploading and processing as expected, no problems
Could everyone testing this add some identical keywords to at least one image - say blue, sky or something so we can see how it looks with a search where everyone comes up, at the moment there are not enough images/keywords to test this? 778
Symbiostock - Development Area / Re: Coming out of Beta. 1+, 2+ Bug Stomping Thread.« on: May 19, 2013, 07:03 »
Leo - I know you said to expect a few emails but when I update (have gone to 2.4 and 2.5 this morning) both generated ten identical emails - I received one to tell me that ajotte had upgraded.
Are all our network members receiving emails to say when we have upgraded and we are receiving CC's of each of those? 779

I have added some of the new widgets to my front page - - must remember to put the "skull" further down my network list as it gives me the shivers every time I see it

Symbiostock - General / Re: Symbiostock Needs its Own Licensing System« on: May 19, 2013, 04:11 »
I would be quite happy to include a hybrid type licence
If a client is willing to pay xxx I will remove it from sale for x weeks/months/years If they want to use it for more than x number of sales they pay extra If they want to use it for z they pay the fee shown I am planning to try and have a lot of my images only selling via my own site which will make this easier than if they are listed everywhere and competing against each other, and ultimately I think it might lead to Symbiostock's success ? 782
Symbiostock - SEO & Marketing / Re: Symbiostock Network Marketing- hints to increase our sales?« on: May 19, 2013, 03:48 »
It is very difficult to get yourself totally removed from facebook - they suspend your account instead of deleting it and if you happen to want to see someone's details, maybe to see if they are using one of your photos without permission you have to find a way of signing in and then, as if by magic, your account rises from the dead!
~~ I have been wondering about sending out a mass email to everyone in my address book and asking them to forward it (using a disposable email address of course) but have been wondering how to word it 783
Symbiostock - Development Area / Re: Coming out of Beta. 1+, 2+ Bug Stomping Thread.« on: May 18, 2013, 15:52 »
Uploads work nicely
Searches work and are much faster than in V1 Sales work ~~ Searches - if I search for animals from tulip.kerioak I can see the logo/avatar for Leo's but no one elses if I search for animals from Leo's site I can all the logo's/avatars when network images come up Symbio cards - how do they update? I changed the picture and number of images on mine and it shows correctly on my site but not on anyone elses In my ladybird Symbiostock Networking page - if I click on the "a"'s I get a page not found - is this correct? ~~ For anyone bug hunting on my tulip.kerioak.com testing site I have made the site as realistic as I can , you just cannot buy images (although if you insist at the prices I have put them at I am always willing to make an exception ![]() I would still like to see time limited downloads A database type page of images licenced (date, image, price/size, email address etc plus if we get extended licences then type of licence as well) Thanks for all your work on this Leo 784
Symbiostock - General / Re: Symbiostock Needs its Own Licensing System« on: May 18, 2013, 14:59 »
This is actually something I was thinking about the other day trying to find a licence that was neither royalty free not rights managed but something in between but even after doing research on the licences could not think of a way of doing it. I came to the conclusion that the images would have to be unique to Symbiostock and not available on royalty free sites

Symbiostock - General / Re: Thinking of joining..where to start?« on: May 18, 2013, 05:28 »
Hi Shawn, a couple of thoughts
- don't forget to keep the Leo and Symbiostock bit in your footer ![]() You might also like to check your Eula unless you want people to credit me with your images ![]() Watermark - I would be inclined to incorporate something that identifies you in it so that if the watermarked pictures get pinched and used they can be readily linked back to you. Links - see the "Network" section of the "Symbiostock" area and select networking, the page will then change to you can add people to your network. If you look at my site under information there is a page with all (or all I know about) of the current symbiostock network members and you can look at their sites and see who you would like to link to. One V2 is fully tested and released there will be more than five slots available 787
Symbiostock - Development Area / Re: Symbiostock Version 2.0 Previews« on: May 18, 2013, 05:13 »
I have added everyone else's test sites to my network.
The searches are sooo much faster and I like the sliding for network members images. It would be nice to have a slower version of that or an option to show more pictures per page for original site (I added mostly dogs with a few other random items) so you can see what I mean My green button is purple ![]() 788

Premium or Business? tq I think anything but personal ~~ Thanks Jaime - I have no idea how it would stand up legally but it gives people a start (the licence/license need to be sorted out as they vary between US and UK ) I "think" I now have it correct on my own site 790

Selling Stock Direct / Re: New Single Site Wordpress Stock Agency« on: May 16, 2013, 10:22 »looked at the demo.. symbiostock is far better in my opinion.. I agree, the way Leo is developing it I feel it could be THE way forward for independent stock artists, we will be working separately but will benefit each other with the networking features which the above one does not seem to mention. Maybe Sean and Andres are big enough not to need the benefit of others but it would be great if they joined us ![]() 792
Symbiostock - Suggestions / Re: Set Priority Levels for Future Development« on: May 16, 2013, 06:38 »
Quite a few of us are using privacy policies (and cookie permission if we are in the EU) - you may remember I sent you a draft privacy policy when I was drafting the Eula some time ago ![]() I like the idea of having to accept the Eula before purchasing, this is quite normal. I also add a link to that, the PP and my FAQ's in the email that will be sent out 793
Symbiostock - General / Re: Thinking of joining..where to start?« on: May 16, 2013, 02:14 »
You could pay someone to set it up but it is probably best if you learn to do it yourself, that way you will know how to tweak things when you want to
Remember the rest of us are only about 6 or seven weeks ahead of you. The Symbiostock.com site has the straightforward useful information - especially this section http://www.symbiostock.com/forums/forum/support/ This includes useful FAQ's that Cascoly has gleaned from the forum and put together I did a getting started tutorial Terry listed the getting started video's that Leo created and they are very useful 794

Symbiostock - General / Re: Thinking of joining..where to start?« on: May 15, 2013, 07:18 »
From a very quick look it seems as if Squarespace are quite restricted and don't allow Wordpress.
Leo (the Symbiostock Wizard) is recommending Bluehost where it works "out of the box" I just needed to do a couple of tweaks to the php.ini to get it working fine on Justhost 796

You mean people are waiting for a big release
![]() ![]() Some great ideas here Leo - I especially like the idea of images appearing that are not directly linked, that will probably be the biggest benefit in getting clients interested and being able to easily display whether we are available for projects is also a great idea. Looking forward to seeing it all in action 798

I have not been around for a few days so am just catching up. 1.3.7 - if you reprocess the images should they show the copyright data if you copy the thumbnails/previews and open them, for instance, in photoshop?
