I will go through all the links on this thread and give some positive comments. Please have a look at mine. Just uploaded a lot of my photos and had 3 sales yesterday. One of them was a $25 el
Got you covered, sharpshot! I REALLY did enjoy your UK landscape shots! They brought back some very fond memories! Congrats on your EL's. Professor, covered you as well. Nice National Park material!! I'll be hitting Rocky Mountian, Yellowstone and a few others May 08. Your shots inspired me! Nice work! -tom

Yep, they are fussy, perfectionists and efficient Tom; but my God they can sell photos........
The reason why? The designers trust them......
I honestly wasn't complaining, I really was impressed! And... I'm happy to say that my first batch is selling already. What's the deal on the 5 camera review thing? What is it, why is it and who does it? -tom

....got one too. They are just soliciting for designers to subscribe. I ripped through the site but couldn't find any entry for submitters (that's Jupiter for you). As I always do, I put in a search for "Maine Coast". One of my 'barometer' keywords. I do so to 'check out' the competition. I have to say, I wasn't all that impressed with a lot of the photos on the site considering it's owned by a major macro. -tom

I just got accepted at IS. Just now ready to do my 2nd upload. I'm limited to 15 a week or something like that. I have to say. They impressed the heck out of me!! I uploaded a pic that I have on 8 other sites, a pic that sells. Not a million dollar pic, but, it sells on just about all of them. It's an autumn shot of Mount Washington in NH with the cog railway train going up the side belching dark smoke. IS rejected it. Reason, photoshop brush marks in the smoke. My immediate reaction... that's baloney, I never worked on the smoke in that shot. I took out a couple of 55 gallon drums in the foreground, but never touched anything else in the shot. It was a great shot!
First thing to impress me... they sent a crop of the area in question that had to be blown up to 200% or more... nobody else does that. Second thing to impress me... sure enough, there was a photoshop brush mark in the smoke!! Must have done it by accident... None the less, I never caught it when I blew up to 100 and none of the other 8 sites caught it either. That impressed me. Am I too easily impressed? They rejected 3 of my first batch, but the one above and one other, they showed me in their cropped attachments what to fix and then said, resubmit for acceptance. I am quite pleased with that. If I can keep up that pace, 1 out of 15, I'd be a happy guy at IS. Of course, that is, if I sell.

There's no rhyme or reason at StockXpert for me when it comes to rejections.

who cares about views. I only care about sales.
Amen to that brother! I only mention it in contrast of views vs. sales. One would think a few more pix would have been sold? Hey it's almost identical to my 'folio on SS, where views are much less and sales lightyears from 13. I just don't understand how that is. Yes, views mean squat. I still have a 'folio on USPS (but not for long). I know I've got well over 20,000, coming up on 30K views there...... and only 5 sales, one of which I purchased just to see if the credit came into my account. Yeah, you can't put views in the bank or pay new camera bills with them. None-the-less, I'll be sticking with LO for a while. I'm still hoping for the best over there. -tom

Replace that Heineken with a Guinness and I'm with you.
That works for me, Professor. T'was my drink of choice when I lived in England! Only problem, it usually wasn't frosty... however that didn't stop me and the gang from closing up for the night with our local pub proprietor. -tom

Over at Lucky O in the future we may be getting stuffed animals for payouts, just like at the carnival.....
Void, dude, .... harsh... but I can dig where you're coming from. With my meager 13 sales (& 12,400 plus views of a 200+ 'folio)... I won't be seeing a payout at this pace for a loooooooooooong time to come. However, I'm not going anywhere yet. I'm not bailing, I'm sticking in there. I still think they've got the right idea and the potential for something different. And different in a positive way. I know first-hand it is a major pain in the butt getting a new business off the ground. You usually lose your shirt... pants and just about everything else before you start racking up profits. It's going to take time. I would like to see a lower payout. I'd feel better about that. I don't mind a $100 point when I'm selling by the dozens like SS. Are there places that ought to be bailed out of? You bet, and I'm in the process with a couple (USPS is first). Just ain't worth the aggravation. But I don't think LO is one of them. On the other hand...I could be wrong... I remember telling my wife, I'm sticking with USPS, I think they'll take off. LOL But I'm not ready to give up on Bryan and the folks at LO. No, I'm not on the payroll... LOL, however, I did ask for a job when he opens the east coast office. peace..... -tomp.s. I would be interested in some of those LO beer coasters! They'd look good sitting under a frosty Heineken. Now, there's a cool item!! Think I'll go get one now.... LOL

Old Fart, well excuse me, baby boomer. Are these selling? Maybe concept or aging, or. . . . . and yes, self portrait, cheapest model I can find.
baby boomer..... MAN... how did I get this old? Wasn't Woodstock just like a couple years ago? -tomp.s. They keep telling me 58 is the new 38..... Yeah, okay.

Sales flat at DT. Interestingly, I'm selling some old stuff. Today, sold a pic that I posted July 06 and had never previously sold. One thing I did notice on DT, the ETR, estimated time for review, is going up!! Not down. Got a batch in for review since the 17th. -tom

I everyone this bad or are you all emphasising for dramatic effect?
In all fairness, 123rf is my smallest 'folio. Total sales aren't bothering me so much as the fact that DL's listed on the individual pictures, DL's in the accounts page and DL's in the cummulative page... don't match! -tom

As suggested.... small batches, often, works best for me in sales. Also as some of the folks mentioned, since I've been doing this, my acceptance percetage is now in the 90's. Very good for SS. -tom

Nevertheless, I have no intention of becoming exclusive to IS or any other agency. Regards, Adelaide
I am not entertaining the idea of becoming exclusive anywhere myself. BUT... as time goes by, I am seriously considering pulling out of more than three quarters of the sites I'm currently on and ' exclusively' dealing with just a few that produce reasonable sales. I'm not with IS yet. Still waiting on my app to be reviewed ( one week today). However, I won't be going exclusive with them even IF they do let me in the gang. If it is a real pain in the backside to upload and survive as a newbie, I probably won't stay there either. I'm just testing the waters with them. I'm still only doing photography part-time. My 'comfort zone' in life demands that I do not give up my day job.... yet. Happily, and surprisingly, our little family photography business is picking up much faster than we anticipated. We actually cannot keep up with what is offered to us now. Since they won't be adding any more hours to the day, something has to go and it's going to be those low producing stocks. I will probably always work the micros... I like it. And while I will never go exclusive with any one, I am pretty much decided to cut the pack down to 3 or 4 only.

wow...... I'm looking at my projections.. And I'm pretty sure if I maintain my current sales pace...... I'll be able to hand my first payout over to my 7 month old granddaughter when she enters college. That is, ....if I'm still alive. okay, maybe not that bad. And, I appreciate the lower payout number. However, I'm still a bit concerned about my pix that show downloads, but have yet to appear in my account. -tom

I cruised the site.. and read thru the artist agreement. It is owned evidently as I gather from the terms, by M Koehler Enterprises (which evidently owns other christian sites). This site is in partnership with Crossdaily.com, a christian site. There are some interesting requirements in the Shutterfarm artist agreement. I was going to paste here a point that pertains to what you cannot upload, but..... I don't want to take up the space. It's there for anyone to read. I didn't quite understand the pricing structure. On the few topics I searched (ones I use everywhere to gauge the quality/style/competition), quite a few came up with no images (however, 'nature' produced more flower shots than I've seen anywhere else). If you search thru the site you'll find links to the artist agreement on the bottom of some pages. As for me, I'll be waiting awhile on this one. I learned my lesson the hard way when it comes to rushing out to be a charter member of a new micro site. I'm on too many sites now that promised the moon and have yet to deliver a dollar and won't be sending me any payout for years (maybe decades ) to come. I don't think I'm ready to add an 11th site. But I wish you {shutterfarm} the best in your new venture. -tom

I also think that you have to send all 50.
I stand corrected on this matter. At SS I do believe you do have to keyword the entire batch you uploaded in order to submit for approval. At SS I upload in handfuls, not large batches. I apologize if that confused any, it was misleading as it was written. At BigStock & LO, I DO upload large batches and then keyword/submit in small batches. I don't do FTP, as a consequence at DT, StockXpert and others I can only upload one at a time. However, as long as DT takes, they do approve in some kind of batch system. StockXpert usually has approved the first picture while I'm uploading the fourth. I've uploaded 6-12 pix at StockXpert and gone back in 10 minutes and they were all approved (or rejected). Clarifying my SS comments, yeah, you have to keyword whatever you put up in the batch... I'll go back and remove that statement. sorry -tomedited: I went back and removed the confusing statement from my earlier post. -tom
