123RF / Re: Nobody upset with 123RF lack of transparency?
« on: July 12, 2010, 10:17 »
Hey everyone!

Our new interface is no longer supporting forums. We've moved our forum to Facebook fanpage. You can use the "Discussion tab" on our Facebook to discuss all your issues!

Warm Regards,
Anglee

That's not a good spot after all the discussion on here about the privacy issues with Facebook. As a contributor of 123RF I shouldn't have to open up an account with Facebook just to partake in the Forum.

Veer / Re: Introducing the new Veer
« on: July 12, 2010, 10:13 »
Yay for the new Veer! I had my first sale for $1.75. Keep them coming!

Congrats Cathy...I hope I have the same luck ;)

828
Yep...got logged in.

829
Same here, but I didn't want to start a thread until I check 4 times if it was my error.

I tried logging in over and over...alot more than 4 times.. ;)

830
Glad to hear it wasn't just me.

831
Any one having problems logging in? I was able to check the number of sales from my bookmark, but when I clicked to see what had sold it went to the security log in page. I put the info in and it reroutes it right back to the same page over and over again with a new security word.

PS:  I'm not sure if DT has any rules about posting numbers on here?   ??? ???

If that was the case then we'd all been fired by now.. :D

I was trying to find the website that has all the specs for the different agencies but I can't find it so here is what I know.

BigStock    EPS (they generate the jpg)
Dreamstime  must upload the jpg then after it is approved you upload the EPS
Shutterstock  Eps+small jpg (same file name) and 1 large jpg (different file name)
Deposit photos  Eps+jpg zip file
CanStockPhotos Eps+jpg zip file
Veer Eps+jpg (same file name)

I've never uploaded vectors to iStock or Fotolia so you'll have to look on their website. I do know that you have to save the vector in EPS8 for iStock. Hope this helps with your original question.

I uploaded huge batch of jpgs on Dreamstime few months ago , wanted to wait approval and upload eps files after , but they refused all because they had keyword "vector" attached.

Maybe its good to or remove that keyword from jpgs and put it later , or add eps files  before review , I don't know if that is common practice or I was just "lucky" that day.

They will reject for the word "vector" because the jpg isn't a vector file. Been there done that. You can upload both the .eps and .jpg at the same time, but I wouldn't put the keyword vector in there until they are approved because they are going to be reviewing the .jpg first as to determine rather it is accepted or not.

I've seen a big increase in sub sales. The other sales are usually small or xtra small so they might as well be sub sales too because the pay isn't that much more

This site has been around for years as RM. She must have graduated by now.  ;)

Maybe she was a business major and never passed the final exam and finally gave up... ;)

Never heard of the place, but why would someone pay for the use of their website when they didn't generate any sales to begin with. Sounds like the guy is a college student with a summer job.

That looks about right. For DT, you don't have to wait for approval. You just have upload the jpeg first, then attach the eps as an additional format. For CanStock, you can just submit the eps, but you won't be able to use IPTC. For Shutterstock, you can use the larger jpeg as a preview as well. For FT, it's an eps with a JPEG preview inside a ZIP archive or an SVG file. for IS, a high res jpeg and an eps file.
I usually wait for approval with Dreamstime.  I sometimes come back and upload the raw files for my photos as well. It just saves time I guess. I tried uploading them to Canstock but kept having problems with the site uploader so I gave up Canstock isn't a big enough earner for me to mess with them.

I always save the large jpg at 4000 longest side. The small preview jpg I just leave the dimensions of the eps file.

He was trying to "save" his camera... just in a different way. Holy Water to save its soul and rid it of those artifacting Demons. Canon, Be Healed!

 ;D

Of course that Canon needs to be converted to Nikonism

Where do you find information on the red carpet program? I was searching the forum and didn't see it, either that or I'm blind.

844
It wasn't just one camera...he had two. I'd go into hibernation if I was him.

845
I charge $.25 a read for using my statistics to write articles that make you money.

That's a good idea....lol

846
When they are picky but rejections make sense (i.e. IS), I tend to submit only my best photos, but when there are a lot of serial / random rejections then I tend to submit everything hoping a good % passes thru - no reason to lose my time trying to find a reason which is probably not there

I can't see how this could be any good for them as well

I'm not speaking about veer only, it's a more general issue.

Kinda reminds me of 123RF.

Honestly what would a giant frog sitting on a swing with part of his legs cut off possibly be used for? Bad composition as well as commercial value. Hmmmm...maybe I need to be a reviewer.. ;D

848
It seems like a joke. I made a search in DT and IS and there is no portofolio for SIFD.  Than if it is not a joke why don't you put your link on your ID ? So we could have a look at your pictures.
That's what killed Old Hippie/Macrosaur here ;-)
BTW, where are your port links?  ;D
What do you mean by port links ? Tell me where I can put it as I suppose it is link to my portofolio on IStock or anywhere else..
BTW I was quoting this guy or maybee this girl asking to see her or his portoflio. It seems that some people like joking !
Sorry but English is not my language. I do my best and hope you understand.

You put them in on your profile page

madelaide what do you do the best with on Zazzle? Shirts? Stamps? Cards?  Just wondering. I've been working on mine and am trying to get an idea of what I need to focus on.

The images were on a variety of subjects. All different. I really wish I knew the order I uploaded them to tell rather they just hit reject on the 1st 50 and then accept on the next 50. Being the rejection was the same on them all it almost seems like that is what they did. I think it's getting to the point that they are getting tired of reviewing and just hitting accept or reject. If the rejection reasons were more subjective I would think differently.
