I had exactly 50 accepted and exactly 50 rejected for exactly the same reason with the latest batch
"Other concerns. Composition, styling, and/or lighting do not quite reflect the aesthetic that appeals to Veer customers."
Some of them I can understand...but all of them for exactly the same reason? I find that strange. Any one else have a mass rejection where each of the reason's were exactly the same? The rejects I got before would have the reason explained a little more and the rejects varied...not all the exact same. Many of these are on all the other sites I'm on and sell well. Probably if I contacted them and questioned this I probably wouldn't hear back because of the overload from others because of rejects from them. It just doesn't make sense. Now I'll probably be stuck on there with a few dollars shy of payout and never reach it since I have had absolutely no sales. I wasn't worried before because of the year end payout, I figured I had nothing to worry about, but now since they decided to change the rules after everyone started submitting to the Veer Dash for Cash, I am.

Well spotted! And I surely hope so. But I would think not - rather a lot of the happy snappers are in holidays. They'll be back flooding the approval queue.
Flooding with pictures of beaches, see, palm trees of course. Santorini uber alles: a thousand more white houses and blue domes. Not actually an issue regarding competition. And sand and salt will eventually destroy every happy snapper's lenses - I'd never take my camera to the beach.
LOL....made that mistake. I didn't go there to do microstock photos just family...but it was a costly mistake. Ruined my lens!

[/quoted from the new members agreement :
3. Copyright All Content is the property and copyright of Crestock and/or its licensors. Doesn't that mean they retain copyright??? Unless I'm misunderstanding. You should never give up the copyright to your images. Has anyone here actually read the new member agreement before they agreed to it?
I'm not a lawyer, but I'd read that as including us as the licensors of images to Crestock. It says that all the content belongs either to Crestock or to the individuals who license content to them. It's a reminder that somebody owns what's on the site, and it's not public domain/free for the taking.
That makes more sense. I don't know exactly what it says because I gave up on them a long time ago so I don't have access to the contributor agreement. I was just looking at what Stokfoto had quoted and that just didn't sound right.

if I agree with the terms does that mean they will retain the copyright even if I remove my images from the site. and what if I don't agree with the new TOS would I still be able to get my money which I requested a month ago. (the site won't allow you to sign in without agreeing with the terms) to be honest I don't want to carry on with crestock and I am surprised why would anyone wanted to buy it in the first place. I uploaded there long time ago and stopped shortly after that

I just had some more of my stock pile reviewed....50 approved...50 rejected. On every one of the 50 rejected photos it said exactly the same thing: "Other concerns. Composition, styling, and/or lighting do not quite reflect the aesthetic that appeals to Veer customers."
The previous rejects from the last batch explained why they were rejected. Many of these are on all the other sites and are good sellers. What was strange was several of the accepted one's I figured wouldn't make it because they were taken in the evening and I really thought they would get rejected because of noise. Many of the rejects are isolated images.

Maybe if every one waited they would pay to upload, then everyone who rushed to get their ports back on track will be wishing they had waited. Personally I don't know if I want to go through the trouble of uploading to another dead site. I tried them when they first started and after the ridiculous rejects I left. Maybe if they make their way to be a better more productive site...I might reconsider, but for the time being I'll sit and watch.

Speaking for myself....I lock them as I work on them so I don't end up editing a layer under another layer. I just left them locked when I saved the eps. I figured whoever bought the vector had the ability to unlock them if needed. I'm still a beginner when it comes to vectors and I'm still learning as I go so I can only speak for myself. After the rejects on Veer I'll always make sure they are unlocked.

I don't know what the deal is either but I had some rejected by Veer because the layers were locked. Maybe they have to be unlocked because of the different software types.

oic, i am surprised that happened to me firs time at my first sale in DP.
anyway, i wasn't get paid for uploading during their promotion, i was told by DP that i wasn't selected and so i didn't really upload my portfolio there. Because of the slow view and slow sales, and the $0.30 subs, i can deactivate my files and stop them from selling it immediately?
You should be able to delete your portfolio there and the sales would stop. You might want to double check with customer support just to be sure if it is something you're concerned about.

i found the view is low and funny thing i got only 1 subs download $0.30, but it is deducted as returned sales, so back to $0... this is the first time i heard there is a returned sales..
it does has a hold up period for images like? 2 years? does it mean i can't close the account in 2 years based on the date of images i uploaded recently?
i remeber that somebody said it would be locked for 6 months,i dont know... but i try to deactivate a file ,its functioned! returned sales?you mean refunded sales?its first time i heard the sub sales refunded LOL
If you uploaded during the time when they were paying you, they are suppose to be online for 6 months. If you uploaded them before that...there isn't a lock. You can delete whenever you want, you just can't do that with the ones they paid you to upload. That was the terms you agreed to when you uploaded them during the period they were paying you....6 months. As for as them deducting from your account for a bad sale, dreamstime and fotolia both do this also. I don't know rather iStock or Shutterstock do this because I've never had it happen there, but the other two I have, so it is done on other stock sites as well, no just deposit photos.

I agree with everyone else. Those plant..leaf shots...would never make it on microstock even if they were accepted by one of the stock sites. That is already an over saturated subject. The spray paint on the wooden door has no commercial value. What would it be used for? As far as the animal....well it wouldn't sell or more than likey wouldn't even be accepted simply because it looks like a snap shot. The photo doesn't even show it's face. You need to think more as a business would think. Who would use these photos and for what? You gotta keep that in mind.

It might be good that Yuri is there, but the way I look at it, by not letting anyone else in yet so they can get everything started with the "big guns"...we'll already be at the bottom of the pile if it's based on sales as far as placement is concerned. I'm not even playing that game, it would be a waste of time for me and being a new site, I'd probably be buried alive!! If it takes off then maybe I'll consider it, but with their attitude from the git go I don't think that is a good way to be considering it is a new site.

Deal closed now and money on the bank. I took bits and pieces from the contracts I got from friends here and some I found out myself. Tiny easy to read contract. Customer must be pleased to not get a giant contract.
So much for that though...They send ME a two pages contract with amounts of $1000000 here and there. working conditions bla bla. I breathed heavy one time and signed it USA...
Really glad for the sale though:)
Congrats....glad to see you got it done and over with...but what is the $1000000 about??

my total monthly income about $3500 ($1000 from IS), am i doing ok in this game? how do you find my figures?
thanks
What? You question rather you are doing alright??? Your doing better than most so in my opinion you're doing more than alright, you're doing great!! I'd love to make that as many here would.

I had a stop sign with the word WAR spray painted on it rejected because of copyright infringement last year. I re uploaded it last month and it was approved. I guess it depends on the reviewer. It made it on most of the other sites with no problem. I must add that I've never even had one sale on any of the sites.

My money is still there, so far.
Some people reported that they got a stock answer back from support, after reporting the problem, that it had to do with taxes being withheld? Since I'm in the US and no taxes are taken, I am not sure what that is all about. Are you in the US, Donna?
yes I am in the US but I've filled out all the forms and they don't withhold taxes. Even if they did it wouldn't have been $95.00 since that was my balance as of yesterday, then today it shows 1.50. (edit)I've just sent a e-mail to customer support.

Anyone know what's going on with Shutterstock. I checked this morning and the money is missing. It went from 95.00 to 1.50. No record of payment. From reading the Shutterstock forum I'm not the only one. Anyone else checked to see if their balance has been affected? or know whats going on?

My sales have been slow across the board except shutterstock has been my BME. I also bulk uploaded a bunch to them in the middle of the month so I'm sure that had something to do with it.

Yes the contract and invoice would be all in one. Basically the contract is going to state that the usage is "this" for "this" amount and what the restrictin's are and by paying the invoice they agree to these terms, then have them mail you a signed copy or use a digital signature. You'd include the paypal information with the e-mail. If I was where I had access to my invoices I'd send you a copy so you'd have an idea what to put in the contract. Did you get one from CClapper? I'll have access to it later this evening if you need one.

Attach the low res with the invoice for their approval. if they don't like it then they don't have to pay the invoice. You might want to put somekind of watermark on the low res. I assume you have a paypal account. It shouldn't take anymore than 24 hours for it to clear unless there are certain circumstances. Once payment is received by paypal you should get an e-mail from them showing that the money went into your paypal account.
