anyone joined the contest?
actually it comes to my mind how fair the contest can be.. the good thing is contributors still owned the right of images. Many contest will have taken the rights of images.

StockXpert is stockxpert? i thought we can only see the downloads end of the month..downloads are from thinkstock? am i right? I haven't any sale on every agencies except SS, for a last 24h...
Something happening!
It's all right, it's just you . I've had sales on every one of the "top six" today, even poor old StockXpert.
Something is happening, and it's something good! I'm on my way to a BDE... even StockXpert is doing outstanding today... will likely be my best StockXpert day in many months, possibly ever.

oic..thanks for the tip. oic, so if i want to shoot as what i did with film, i should choose a daylight WB. Thanks!
I didn't find AWB helpful at all, i took a series of photos in a trip, and because the weather is changing that day..so the wb is different. i can adjust it in raw format but i would prefer to get consistent results and easy to adjust for consistency.
I think most film was daylight balanced so there should be a setting to keep your white balance at 5500K, the temperature of daylight. On Canon cameras it is marked as a little sunshine in the white balance settings.
What might be easier to get the same white Balance for a group of photos is to load all RAW images at once into Camera Raw. Top Left select "Select All" and set the White Balance. Now the WB is set for all of those images. Now you can individually select one image and continue to correct that Raw image. The WB will already be set.
mtkang, you said: "i don't want a series of photos that i had same day and come out with different color tone" . . . . . so that is how I would do it.

i am using a pentax KX...
is there a way to make the DSLR just take the WB as it like film SLR? I didn't really have problem with film photography before for outdoors, even it becomes cloudy, the atmosphere is still captured without funny color.
I am not sure what is missing here..or the lab had adjust for my film output? will film photography WB switch as inconsistency in DSLR?

Hi all,
I got a question about AWB auto white balance in digital camera, basically it is a change of color tones to make the white is white, so the camera will use its intelligence to auto adjust for us if we set as AWB. am i right? correct me if i am wrong.
how about in film photography? there is nothing to change unless u add a color filter for white balance.
so my question is ... if i want to take the Digital photography like what i did with film photography, what setting i should do? i found out that the AWB mess up a series of photos when weather changes like sunny and cloudy. Is there a way to disable AWB? my camera only has a option like manual WB.
since i take in raw files i think WB is easy to adjust, but i don't want a series of photos that i had same day and come out with different color tone that make it extra job.
thanks.

anyone had more experience about flickr collection in getty?
getty choose form the photos you submitted to their 'group'? and if you are interested to license more, you have to submit to the flickr group again? or you have a channel to submit directly to getty?

hi elvinstar, is that a way to find the site's host with all available contact information? i am able to find out this DAI IP CHO HOSTING GAME, but it links to another website that i am not sure where to get contact information. is that a easy way to find out what is the site's host information? i wonder are every site's host is a legal company that will do anything to prevent stealing? after a search in internet, i realise stolen contents even like blog contents are common to be republished without permission.. and there are website that let people download free vector from microstock, photos. There is nothing one can do to those website? I guess most people are clueless of what to do..and many of it just got it away. That is a crappy situation! This is what I found by googling the DNS:

Hope it helps!

the website was partially down for quite some time..my files are failed to move to published..and now it seems okay. it supports IPTC ..but not for eps vector.. and it seems to charge eps vector cheaper than certain jpg size.. the site is okay i got a single sale 0.5 euro.. haven't been uploaded lots of images.. but i think the subs will go as low as 0.20 euro that's mean you get paid 0.10 euro? here is my referral link.. <a href=" http://www.photaki.com/src_mtkang" title="Image Bank">Image Bank[/url]

thanks for the link! so is most people will get the photographer's choice offer if applying through getty website? how about flickr collection? do we have to submit through flickr everytime? after approval.. Elenathewise is one of the top 30 or so microstockers in the business. Here's her account of submitting to Getty.

oic..you are right! i read again ftp instruction in dreamstime... so i guess the last batch eps i ftp is going no where. Unless they have changed it, you needed to change the eps name to the file number of the jpeg to get them to link up from FTP. It made the whole process fairly useless. It would be great if they changed it to match the file name though.

Hi any getty contributors?
I would like to try submitting to getty, after reading through internet, it seems one can apply through their website, but it seems getty will decide what collection you will submit. According to what on their website, the Photographer's choice is most likely collection. This is the collection one need to pay us50 per file to upload?
from the website: There are also our Photographer's Choice Placement Fee Collections to which many of our photographers currently submit and are the most likely place well invite new contributors to license their images once they meet our basic technical and aesthetic requirements.
the other way is through the flickr collection. But if accepted through flickr collection, does it mean we can upload directly to getty? or we still have to go through flickr?
anyone can share their experience for this 2 ways? or there are other ways?
thanks!

i think you need to ftp the eps to another folder named 'additonal format'... at least you can do everything in one click. if you are using ftp i think you can upload eps vector to a 'additional folder' with matching jpg.
one thing is the file will be rejected if keyword 'vector' is there, 'vector' keyword should be put after approval of additional format. I am not sure has it changed.
Will this automatically link the files together, or will I still need to go in and manually do that?

I am quite surprise it is from a mouth of CEO.

what i am saying sometimes the managements should stay out of complains if they dont have a solution at this moment. you don't see istock management come here to explain their changes, telling you shutterstock is paying $0.25.
it is good if some staff come here to assist us, but if there is no good explanation, please direct them to customer service.

joining 2 months at GL, i had made 4 sales, stockfresh is still pending of my application. i find it quite unprofessional to name your competitor this way. I am really surprised attitude like that can manage a successful company. I guess time is changing, old way of doing business is out-dated..

Hi all, did you join the dreamstime assignment contest? now is opened for voting.. here is mine, http://www.dreamstime.com/-shangri-la-villages-image16234850I tried assignment contest 2nd time.. the image had to be inclusive with dreamstime for 1 year, it will be escalated for level 5. Basically it is not a very good deal if you are not exclusive contributors to dreamstime, anyway, i just join for fun to see how my images will appear in the contest!
