It would depend to me on how much walking each day.
If its a couple of hours then set up camp and look around, then I take 24-105L IS and 100-400L IS
If it is 8 hours of walking each day then I'd ditch the 100-400L IS and take 16mm or something extra wide.
It would also depend if on how much wildlife there was to shoot.

one sale for $1.75 from about 140 online,
acceptances are annoying, very hit and miss, batch accepted then a batch rejected.

i know somebody who installed a power point to hide a hole in the wall they made by accident. The power point wasn't attached to any wires, got his bond back when he moved out. I can only assume the next tennants tried to use it and would have called the real estate to send an electrician to repair it. I can imagine the confused looks when the electrician would have taken the power point off the wall to see what the problem was.

I agree it seems to be too variable, one batch almost all accepted then a whole batch rejected for not suitable for stock. Seems a bit like a lucky dip to me.
Better than rejecting everything I suppose.

So I don't need lights, speedlites or backgrounds, ahhhh I need skateboards, boxes and fans that's where I've been going wrong.
Compared to other video's I'd seen from Yuri this was the least helpful

This is a snapshot (Image Deleted). "Erupting volcanoes are a very well covered subject in our data base or the subject of your image is too specific. We are looking for images that exceed the technical quality and creativity of the images already online. Please take a few minutes to browse through the best selling images online (on this subject) and go deeper, play, have a more creative, more personal approach to it, like extinguishing the volcano, girls with headset playing on top in the lava, the volcano top covered with a hardhat or handholding businessmen dancing around the base cheering and waving fire extinguishers."
Don't forget the goldfish jumping into and out of the lava.

I think this is quite common,a lot of professional photographers and video people would be covering the event through official "press pass" channels and they don't want 50,000 "competitors" blazing away. Some events will release video etc of the concert etc.
Australian open tennis they won't let you take in any lens greater than 200mm.
The more famous people or event is there are the more restrictions.
Not that I agree with the prices in general on a relative price comparision between other shows Paul is one show I would pay the money for, some of the prices for 1 hit wonders are just a rip offs.

I don't have any transferred from SV (they rejected me only to accept me first go when they actually looked at my photos and not the sales figures. erghhh ! Sorry can't help but rant) so can't answer your question regarding transferred files though I have a number of new uploads that show broken images. So I think the problem is not exclusively to do with ported images from SV I'm still seeing all my SV vector images that were ported over to Veer showing as broken images in my dashboard. Anyone else? Only new uploads actually show up properly.

I had one deactivated which was a yellow and red surf life saving flag. Aparently it is breach of copywrite.
Obvious there is a market for this stuff under editorial, I wish that more agencies offered editorial submissions.

I would have thought that subscriptions were from the date you bought them not the calendar month.
Also aren't the downloads limits per day not per month ??

You can probably take snapvillage off your list I submit to IS,DT,SS,FT,StockXpert,123,BigStock and Veer in that order. I concentrate on the first 4 then just fill in the gaps when I've got some spare time when I don't want to think too much. i.e submit a couple of photos instead of browsing the net or something. hello.
i have been thinking about cutting down on the sites i contribute to.
I'm just tired of the uploading!
I submit to~SS, DT, FT, StockXpert, CanStockPhoto, 123, BigStock, SNAPVILLAGE, FP, VEER.
That's 10 freeken sites.
I just recently got accepted to ss.
IS keeps rejecting me.
anyone else been in this boat & what did you do.
I'm thinking of just keeping, SS,DT,FT,VEER,BigStock....AHHHH, i don't know.
and i still want to get into istock.
Any sugestions?
Thanks, Nick

I said no categories because I (and others) hate filling them out and slows down the upload process. In order to attract contributors to a new site everything needs to be as easy as possible. Istock's categories is a pain in the $$#@ but they have a solid track record of sales. Most people also believe that customers very rarely search by category (wether this is true or not I don't know) Plan for attracting customers, preferably new customers not another dilution of the existing pool. No categories
There is a massive potential New Customer base are out there, but the existing model will not attract them the images need to go to the Customers not the Customers to the images, and they need to purchase instantly via a browser plug-in, only what they need at the time, no registration, no credits and no subscriptions.
Why do you say no categories, the way forward is standardization this means categories and controlled vocabulary tools.

Hope your venture goes well, however looking at the list on the right there are already a lot of new sites/low earners. Most of which I think most people don't bother with due to low return for time spent.
some ideas that might help
No categories No categories Easy upload essential (FTP) No long lock in time for submissions Submission allowance a combination of number of photos online and % acceptance rate. eg someone with 75% acceptance with 2000 photos online gets a higher allocation than 75% with 30 online. No categories If subscription based site limited size of download or variable commission dependent on the size downloaded. eg customers can DL 10 small per day, or 3XXL or some combination. (artist get commission based on size) Plan for attracting customers, preferably new customers not another dilution of the existing pool. Extended licences are one area contributors are picky about - These should not be too cheap. No categories Set reasonable quality levels for acceptance inline with sales and database size. You can't expect to only accept the best with no sales because the best won't submit without some chance of return. No categories "best match search" takes no input from reviews from other contributors

They could have just made it a "competition" and gave away a couple of drawing tablets and they would have been swamped with submissions.
Ringing people up to give their work away for free is abit over the top for me.

All time 93%/7%/0%
this month 80%/20%/0%
never got an extend licence at SS, had them elsewhere but not at SS
