General Stock Discussion / Re: Trumps New Tariffs Just Made Your Camera Gear Way More Expensive« on: April 04, 2025, 23:40 »For those of you in countries other than the USA, how many Chevys, Cadillacs, or Ford vehicles do you see on a daily basis? Know why you don't see as many as Toyotas or BMWs? Because your county has had outrageous tariffs and/or crippling regulations on the USA for years, causing American-made vehicles, as an example, to be outrageously expensive compared to the Volkswagens, Hondas, or Audis. OK, quick check, "top selling US cars in USA?" You get Chevrolet Silverado at the very top of the list. Lets pick a cheapest 2025 model...Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD 2025 Cheapest price in US ? 45.300 USD https://www.chevrolet.com/trucks/silverado/2500hd-3500hd Cheapest price in EU ? 41,952 EU or 45.600 USD https://www.ccarprice.com/eu/chevrolet-silverado-3500hd-2025-price-in-europe-24088 You might rarely see Silverado in EU for various reasons but outrageous tariffs and outrageously expensive are not one of them. On the other hand, EU best selling car is Dacia Sandero, which is pretty much the cheapest car in the class and its not even available in US because the market demand is completely different. On best selling 15 cars list in EU there are 10 extremely small cars that US production doesn't even focus on, EU has old cities with narrow roads and extremely small parking spaces that are mostly impossible to find, people focus on low-consuming cars cause 1L in EU is like 2$ per liter while its 0.82 per liter in US. Simply, just looking at best selling cars, EU has products for US market while US doesn't focus on what Europeans buy at most . ![]() 4
Off Topic / Re: Still funny? Not anymore?« on: April 04, 2025, 09:22 »From what I read, you're a real fascist, stoker2014.I think that parasites need to read the definition of fascism first. Trump is engaged in protectionism and the fight against world evil. Let's start with the definition: Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy. Opposed to Marxism, democracy, anarchism, pluralism, free markets, egalitarianism, communism, liberalism, and socialism,[ fascism is at the far right of the traditional leftright spectrum. And continue with Umberto Eco who, most agree, wrote the most accurate list of the common features of Fascism: The cult of tradition. One has only to look at the syllabus of every fascist movement to find the major traditionalist thinkers. The Nazi gnosis was nourished by traditionalist, syncretistic, occult elements. The rejection of modernism. The Enlightenment, the Age of Reason, is seen as the beginning of modern depravity. In this sense, Ur-Fascism can be defined as irrationalism. The cult of action for actions sake. Action being beautiful in itself, it must be taken before, or without, any previous reflection. Thinking is a form of emasculation. Disagreement is treason. The critical spirit makes distinctions, and to distinguish is a sign of modernism. In modern culture, the scientific community praises disagreement as a way to improve knowledge. Fear of difference. The first appeal of a fascist or prematurely fascist movement is an appeal against the intruders. Thus Ur-Fascism is racist by definition. Appeal to social frustration. One of the most typical features of the historical fascism was the appeal to a frustrated middle class, a class suffering from an economic crisis or feelings of political humiliation, and frightened by the pressure of lower social groups. The obsession with a plot. Thus at the root of the Ur-Fascist psychology, there is the obsession with a plot, possibly an international one. The followers must feel besieged. The enemy is both strong and weak. By a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak. Pacifism is trafficking with the enemy. For Ur-Fascism there is no struggle for life but, rather, life is lived for struggle. Contempt for the weak. Elitism is a typical aspect of any reactionary ideology. Everybody is educated to become a hero. In Ur-Fascist ideology, heroism is the norm. This cult of heroism is strictly linked with the cult of death. Machismo and weaponry. Machismo implies both disdain for women and intolerance and condemnation of nonstandard sexual habits, from chastity to homosexuality. Selective populism. There is in our future a TV or Internet populism, in which the emotional response of a selected group of citizens can be presented and accepted as the Voice of the People. Ur-Fascism speaks Newspeak. All the Nazi or Fascist schoolbooks made use of an impoverished vocabulary, and an elementary syntax, in order to limit the instruments for complex and critical reasoning. The fact is that because of Ukraine's horribly stupid recent history moves that were pulled by completely neglecting their geo-strategic position, they faced something they are unable to pull themselves alone.
I'm certainly not a Trump fan by any means, but one thing he told Zelenskyy is absolutely right:" You are gambling with WWIII". Zelenskyy is constantly repeating that Ukraine is defending the Europe, the world itself, and he is trying to pull everyone down while he is drowning. When he was pulling his moves before the war, he thought his back was a bit stronger than it really is. The story ends with Ukraine having to agree on certain territory losses, they will certainly not be allowed to join NATO and in best case scenario he will get some peace forces there that are more formal than operative. USA will get their minerals at a pretty good price , and the people that are still in Ukraine will live poorly because every post-war era is flooded with corruption, criminal... Pre war "bus drivers" and similar intellectual cream of the nation will be awarded for their war duties with political chairs leading the country into even more poverty assuring the cousins and relatives private own new formed companies are signing good deals with the government pulling the money from the country's low budget into private pockets of the chosen. Building companies that will work on reparations are gonna pull the largest piece of that cake, and by "underground" power, they will assure the prices are high and competition is low. For someone who is just starting it is going to be near impossible to reach decent spots in the search engine on any term that is likely to get sales. Shooting at low competition keywords might be the way but prints don't sell as nearly as stock photos so you might to wait for years for a sale even with larger portfolios. If you take a look at recent sales you might get the idea what sells there...florals, famous portraits, movie posters and a lot of thing from the...lets call it the gray space concerning trademarks.
It literally for people with huge portfolios shooting in the dark or people that build themself as a brand and bring their own traffic and than sales push those artworks higher in the search engine, which btw rarely changes and highly favorites images by SALES. No fresh stuff, no chance for new stuff etc. Free tip...first 10 keywords carry way more weight but its literally build with stuff that sold more so if you want to push out the current images you must beat their sales...and good luck with that. 14

Also, forgot to mention that I personally got signatures in the bottom corners. I really wonder if they are real, and if they are, it pulls a lot of questions.
First one is , is the technology really just using training to create something new or its directly scrapping parts of existing artwork, because how to justify signatures if they turn out to be real. ( Which I can not claim now, but personally I think its a matter of time someone will start creating art based on his name a get a signature if that's the case) 16
General Stock Discussion / Re: Artificial Intelligence killing the whole industry« on: January 23, 2023, 14:42 »
Generally I don't mind the existence nor using this technology myself but this is going too far. Every second prompt is using terms like "in style of ARTIST NAME" and as it if that wasn't enough now they started to create models based specifically on artist style to get even closer, and again...as that is not enough you can upload a reference image scraped from the internet and decide how close the generated image will look to the original and balance the prompt and reference photo.
So artist that don't want to be included have absolutely no choice, not even formally. I have no doubt this will be stopped sooner or later and someone will get compensated big time at the end. 17
General Stock Discussion / Re: Artificial Intelligence killing the whole industry« on: December 28, 2022, 19:40 »I am really curious to have the same conversation with all of you in a couple of years. I don't agree, even until now customers were free to invest in their own tools (lets say cameras, or paint and brushes ) , invest even more time and learn how to use them and create professional level images. Is it really as simple as that ? Even with AI, someone will not just be able to buy some credits and create something they need at the level of someone else who invested enormous time into that. Sure, serious hobbyist will be able to go really high in the quality of their work but they were able to do so in photography also. The biggest problem that I see is in the actual amount of work someone is going to be able to produce in small amount of time when he finds his style which will have to be tricky to reproduce if that someone wants to stay recognizable. We are talking about the ability to create a full portfolio in couple of sleepless nights which until now it would takes years to create. I'm sure there will be superstar AI artists with unique styles which will brand their work under their their name, earn based on social presence, more or less like in any form or art in the history. Also I'm really against stuff that started to happen when people use at the end of their prompts "in style of artist name". In my opinion that's not only stealing the style, that's stealing the whole identity and brand that someone worked his butt for. In case of machine learning I'm really not against that that much because there is not an artist in the history of the world that has not stolen part of his style or work from someone else. But when you mention that name to get more attention, or to build your style...that's a problem. 18
General Stock Discussion / Re: PayPal will Take $2500 for Misinformation« on: October 10, 2022, 14:21 »... Assuming that you are only taking USA in consideration. Parts of Europe abolished slavery 400+ years before that and some way more, for example in 1430 in the Republic of Ragusa slave trade became a death offense and the trials and penalties were later under direct jurisdiction of Catholic church. Also their polymath Ivan Stojković, better known as John of Ragusa in 1420 became the advisor of Martin V, the pope who first started promulgating certain bans on slave trade worldwide. Later Renaissance popes would follow in his footsteps, and enforce stricter and stricter limitations on practices of slavery. As a sort of atheist I have no reason to speak in favor of the church but the facts are the facts and there is no doubt religion played a significant role in the early abolition. Also... Iceland abolished slavery in 1117. Norway abolished slavery in 1274. Sweden abolished slavery in 1335. Poland abolished slavery in 1347. Beside that, Pope Paul III outlawed the enslavement of indigenous peoples in the New World, and established basic freedom and property rights for them in 1537. 19

Taking a whole verse of lyrics from someone else's song and than removing it completely after a lawsuit threat is not and can not be a cover. If you can not get a result from something you just started with , you might want to consider that you don't know how to use the thing and that this is the main part of your problem. ![]() |
