I've no objection to selling 'low res' videos. After all, that's all a HD resolution is when you upload a 4K.
What I object to is the price.
We need an 'opt out'.
Exactly. Finding out they had sold a 'low res' version of one of my best selling videos (which is normally priced at $65 for HD resolution) for $15 is unacceptable. Either an opt out or let us set the price or minimum price of these low res options.

Hello everybody!
I was just fiddling around the other day on P5 with their search engine and while doing that I've encountered one small problem (at least for me).
It shouldn't be a surprise that peeps try to get the best value for their money. When thay have to choose between for example 1080P clip priced at 30$ and a very simillar 4K clip at 55$ for 4K and 27$ for 1080P they would probably take the downscaled 4K version. But that's difficult...
I just wanted to say that if someone sets a price limit on P5 for example for 49$ he/she will only get results that are native 1080P or smaller. The search engine won't show downscaled 4K clips available in that price range.
What do you think about all of this? Personally it drives me crazy 
I reported it as a bug more than 3 years ago. Have followed up a few times since. Still hasn't been fixed, so I gave up any hope of it being fixed a long time ago. Along with a couple of other bugs that have been more than 3 years without a fix.

I'm looking for suggestions about the best site to sell high quality videos. I'm currently filming with a Panasonic GH4 and a Phantom 3 Professional, which are great tools for microstock, but I'll soon be upgrading to much higher quality equipment and I just can't see myself throwing those clips in with the rest of my microstock portfolio. My plan is to get a R3D Raven with a Movi and an Inspire 1 Raw. I would prefer to go exclusive with those clips and sell them at a higher price point than my other clips. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience in this area? Maybe sell them for around $400 each on Pond5?
I'm not sure how hard it is to get in, but Film Supply ( https://www.filmsupply.com) is well worth a look at.

I just received a final notice from Pond5, asking me to verify my identity, but the 'Verify Now' button in the email is not working for me. Also, I've already received a similar email two months ago and completed the online form already. Really not sure if this one is a spam or not. I've contact the support but no reply yet.

I price most at Tier 2, except for generic, simple clips that are one of thousands, which I price Tier 1.

Are there any chances of selling clips uploaded more than 4-5 years ago?
I still do regularly. New clips definitely do much better, but those old ones still have some life in them.

If they offer a normal contract, a normal delete button on every file and a minimum of 30% for indie and more for exclusive content, I am sure more people would be ready to try dissolve.
And stop screwing around with their pricing model. Have some confidence in the product they are selling and show that confidence to buyers and contributors.

What do you gain by deleting them? Why not save the effort and leave your clips up there for perhaps the occasional sale?

The 5 year commitment is the reason I haven't looked at them. 5 years is total lifetime on the internet.
Can someone help me understand this 5 year commitment thing? I hear people say it a lot about their contract, but when I read the contract it says the contract is valid for 5 years (with year on year extension after that) but can be terminated at any time that the contributor wishes to, and you can remove your clips at any time that you wish to by notifying them. Which to my understanding isn't locking you in for 5 years.

I'm not sure what you mean by a 5 year hook. The contributors agreement is for 5 years (and then on a yearly basis after that), but doesn't stipulate that you are tied in for all that time. It says that you can terminate the agreement at any time with 120 days written notice.
As for deleting or deactivating files, they currently don't have an interface to do that yourself, but you can contact support and they will delete files at your request.

Are there many buyers wanting lower resolutions? It is very rare that I get sales of clips at lower resolutions on sites that offer them. The vast majority of sales are always at 1080p. So for me, I would say that it isn't worth creating your own downsized clips.

That article is from 2013. Dissolve very quickly realised that the $5 mark was not going to work and made the cheapest level $50. All my HD clips there are $80 and 4k clips are $300 (their pricing). So HD clips are basically the same price and royalty as SS.

I've had sales the last 6 months (basically since the month after I started uploading there). No report yet this month. But two times this year the sales report hasn't come until the 20th/21st, so I wouldn't worry yet.

Don't mean to be rude or dismissive, but - based on what I know - this can't possibly work. The current state of AI is nowhere near the point of being able to usefully keyword images by recognizing a wide variety of objects in various orientations, picking out faces and facial expressions, and inferring a meaningful context, with an acceptable error rate. And even if it were, Pond5 couldn't afford the processing power.
It's not always accurate... but sometimes it is very surprising. I have had some videos where it correctly picked the species of bird in the video.

I think it would be great as suggested keywords to be able to quickly add some of the keywords in that you didn't think of. Automatically putting them in can be annoying when you have to delete a bunch. I have found it very accurate when there is a clear subject matter, and has helped flesh out more relevant keywords for me that hadn't thought of.

Im actually a bit bummed about ME.
Was really hoping it would worth the effort and time i spent there uploading most of my port,but in my case that didnt work.
Same here. It looked very promising, with friendly and helpful support, but never paid off.

I have my videos up for a while now, I dont know how long, I cant really find the exact date, but I guess its been 3 weeks to a month. How long does it normally take for videos?
I just had a batch approved today. Oldest clip was from 3 weeks ago.

One thing I really wouldn't like as a buyer -- no mouseover clips. AFAIK (I could be wrong) every video site I contribute to has mouseover clips. This one shows a static thumbnail. Maybe real buyers don't care?
They have mouseover clips. It shows the thumbnail while it is loading the clip and then it plays a preview clip. I have postponed uploading at dissolve although it seems promising,simply because i need a dashboard to upload and tag my footage.
Even with the most recent updates i simply refuse to create csv files and upload them together.
I find it really easy and quicker to create a csv. I do my clips on Pond5 first, and then from there you can download a CSV of all your clips data, and then I just copy and paste the relevant columns into new CSVs for uploading to both Dissolve and Revostock. Much quicker than inputting the info into individual files one by one.
