Just a side note:
Sold photo on 3/23/17 for $4.18 that I had uploaded on 9/10/09 at DT. It was the first time it had been sold. Maybe "oldies can be goodies"

Since all of my photo are aerials. I look for shots from the air that give a fresh view of marketable subjects.

You hit the nail on head. As a veteran of life at 89yrs,I have this to say: "Things is a changing" and they always will. As pilot and aerial photographer doing aerial mapping I do it all on my home computer with a small digital camera. Before it took a room full of machines and operators and a huge camera. I haven't embraced every new "app", but just enough to say I am"cool"

The words- "Marketing -Marketing"-Marketing" covers it all. That covers what photos you take. What agency you send them to, and what subjects you specialize in.

Thanks Amos Struck:
All I do is aerial photos and aerial mapping ( vertical photos) with a few in microstock . But your examples in those type of photos gave me all kinds of ideas of what to take that would sell in stock. I guess you can teach a old dog new tricks.

I think Jo Ann Sn over has hit on the perfect strategy. If the agency would work at increasing the high value sales to a higher percent of the total sales, everybody,  would win.

Hi- That guy does know how to, crop, "photoshop"  and pick subject when viewed from the air seem to pop. I see I still have a lot to learn about aerial photos that would have commercial value or appeal.

hi
Sorry to sound so dumb, but what does FAA and POD stand for? Since my aerials photos don't have people in them, I am always looking for new outlets.

Now I know what I have to do. Take more good photos. The only thing I have to learn is what is a good photo. But all kidding aside - that is the best straight forward advice I have heard. The two key words-MORE and GOOD. Thanks Steve.

P.S. You might HARD WORK

Hi Warren. Never got to Key West, but always wanted to. Jimmy Buffett was always one of my heroes- being a renegade pilot like me. Of course i liked his songs too.

Hi Rubyroo
thanks for the link.Outstanding photos. They are right Africa is hard to describe. Its wild, beautiful, dangerous, intriguing, vast and overwhelming. Where airplanes and camel meet. I flew over a lot of Eastern Africa between 1975 and 1986. I sure wish I had a better camera than I did. Its hard to get great photos with a point and shoot 35MM.
