Yes I know. I hope its not a fluke! I've been busy shooting weddings and havent uploaded a lot of stock photos either. But now its the off season and I'll have more time for stock. Looking forward to 2013!

I had the same problem with a wedding photographer. He downloaded one of my wedding photos and put it on his website in his portfolio section. I emailed him several times and he eventually removed it. Crazy people!

My buyout request was for a flower image as well. No response after 2 days though

I just received my first "buyout" request for an image at 123rf. I guess that just means that I am releasing all the rights to that image, and that I can no longer sell that image on 123rf or any other site. I have never sold an image in that way, so I am not really sure what kind of price to offer.
Anyone else have any thoughts about buyouts? Good idea? Bad idea?

I do a fair amount of stock photography, but I am primarily a wedding photographer. I found one of my wedding stock photos on a wedding photographer's website in England. The photo was used in their portfolio section, and their logo was placed on the bottom right side of the image. I emailed the photographer, and he stood his ground. He explained that he found it on the internet and therefore it now belonged to him. After several emails (rated PG-13) he eventually removed the photo.
I know that many businesses will use stock photos on their site to promote their services, but I definitely have a problem with a wedding photographer using someone else's photos to promote their skills.
Has anyone else noticed anything similar to this?

I would gladly take $1 per download. I had 6 ELs in March (never had more than two in a month before), and still only got about $0.72 per download.

I had a few sales the first 3-4 days of uploading (back in November 2011), and nothing since. I am definitely of the opinion that the owner is buying images from new contributors in the hopes of getting them excited and dumping their entire portfolio on the site. Its an interesting strategy, but so far I don't think its working. There are over 100k images on the site, and only 4 images have two downloads.
I still upload periodically in the hopes that one day this site will get some better traffic, but I only upload the images that other stock sites didn't want. I have never had a rejection at AYCS.

Congrats! That's always exciting to see people buying your images directly from your site. I started selling my images directly from my site about 6 months ago, and I've had pretty good luck (about 10-15 images per month, with most of them being religious images). I'd say Google Image search gets about 95% of my traffic.
Congrats again! Hope you have many more buyers in the future!
