Update:

Adobe portfolio is taken down. I am still waiting response from iStock and Shutterstock.

2
I am iStock exclusive, so I assume from there. How? I don't know. I don't believe they paid for my files.

Thank you for your response.

A member mentioned a way to download iStock footage via Canva. If you search the forum, you may find that thread.

Im not sure if that works with animations, but for footage, I take a screenshot of each clip and upload them once to pixsy.com.

You would then receive an email alert when one of your clips is uploaded to an agency for sale. Then, you could contact the relevant agency to take down your clips and close down the account.

I hope this information is helpful.

Best of luck on your journey.

Thanks for this tip. Best of luck to you too.

From which agency do you suspect the person stole your content?

We should all keep an eye out for fraudulent accounts. Last month, I had Shutterstock close an account with more than 5,000 stolen videos.

Im always on the lookout for more fraudulent accounts with stolen content.

Having their accounts closed is satisfying.

I am iStock exclusive, so I assume from there. How? I don't know. I don't believe they paid for my files.

Another thief:

I found one of my video, and plenty illustrations of other iStock and Shutterstock contibutors. He clearly use our elements to make his own illustration.

One example:

original: https://www.istockphoto.com/vector/sticker-of-a-cartoon-toothbrush-gm1456226519-491325841
his:        https://www.shutterstock.com/image-vector/national-brush-day-illustration-november-1-2382725819

5
His videos are of very low quality. Thus, I assume most of them are his own.

Yes, they are very low quality, but the videos are not his own for sure. He made some minor tweaks or used my vectors to recreate the same video.

Just look at this example of other contributor.

original: https://www.istockphoto.com/video/juneteenth-freedom-day-background-4k-animation-with-colorful-shapes-and-typography-gm1492424625-516428766
his: https://www.istockphoto.com/video/juneteenth-freedom-day-background-4k-animation-with-colorful-shapes-and-typography-gm2155266748-576091261

He replicates over 30 of my videos, using my vector elements.

This isn't the first time this has happened. Few months ago, I reported a Shutterstock contributor for stealing half of my video portfolio.

6
This contributor stole plenty of my animations. I recognized many popular animations of other contributors too. Animations are almost the same, with some minor tweaks.

His portfolio:

https://www.istockphoto.com/portfolio/RaufKhan?assettype=film
https://stock.adobe.com/au/contributor/208381006/abdul?load_type=author&prev_url=detail

I already reported him on iStock. Now I'm filling DMCA for Shutterstock.

Check his portfolio, because I assume he stole photos and illustrations too.

Do you sell on one of those unlimited download subscription site?

I am iStock exclusive.
Partner Site? Or has someone found a way to steal from iStock directly, without paying anything. It wouldn't make sense to pay for all of these.

I already answered above: Someone posted link on iStock forum to a online tool where you can download iStock and Shutterstock videos for free in HD resolution, which is very disturbing. That online tool remove watermark and create new file, which you can download and use. I assume thief use same technique.

What is the name of that tool?

Can't remember, but there are plenty of videos on Youtube how to download hd clips from iStock and Shutterstock using that technique. We report that videos regularly.

So the thief downloaded your videos on iStock paying $5-10 per clip on their subscription plan?  Wow.  It's not safe to sell videos on any subscription plan now.  Only Pond5 clip by clip purchase system is safe.  Thieves won't pay $50/clip to upload them on their own.

I don't know. But someone posted link on iStock forum to a online tool where you can download iStock and Shutterstock videos for free in HD resolution, which is very disturbing. I am iStock exclusive for illustration too. Many of my files, and other iStock exclusive contributors files are on Shutterstock. It is time consuming to catch all thiefs.

Check your files too.

Did the theft happen on Artlist or Storyblocks?

iStock.

I found few of my vector reselling as .svg and .eps files in this Etsy shop:

https://www.etsy.com/shop/worldofdesigns1?ref=l2-about-shopname

I submitted DMCA claim to Etsy.

I recognized other contributors popular illustrations too. Check this shop for your illustrations.

His portfolio is still online and still uploading. But it appears that  few files has been deleted.

The third one (the original artist) replied me, and he reported it. Hopefully it won't take long. I am curios if they just delete one image or the whole port.

Great, thanks for your effort. Well, the entire portfolio is consists of stolen files, with multiple files from a single user. So, it will be ridiculous just to remove one or a few files.

I accidentally discovered a thief. I recognized some of popular vectors in his portfolio. I read somewhere on the forum that you must be the copyright owner if you want to make complain (maybe I'm wrong). Anyway, I will post links here, I hope that copyright owners will see this.

Anyone actually receive the payment yet?

No payment here either. It should be today or tomorrow...

I found some of my vectors on this site (teepublic.com) for sale. They are on shirts, mugs, bags, phone cases... In description is my name as designer and this: "Shutterstock Artist Partner".

I cannot find anything on SS about this site.

Do you know anything about this? Is it legit?

Btw, vectors are distorted, blends and shadow are blended in one. It looks very ugly.

23
I wonder if I should delete my Bigstock as well, since Shutterstock owns it?

I deleted my Bigstock account sending them an e-mail. They deleted my account in day, or two.

On SS you can just opt out from all sales in account settings. I did it that way.

24
Offtopic question, but it has connection with SS, and it's caused by "exciting" news.

If I opt out from Image sales, Footage sales, Sensitive use and Enhanced license (in SS account settings) will all my files be removed from all SS searches, including partners sites?

Thanks!

Yes, if you look at your dashboard where it says Image portfolio it will have 0 next to it. Click on it and it will say "This contributor has no active images in their portfolio."
Partner sites, who knows?  Give me a partner sight and I will have a look.

Thanks for reply! Actually, SS has easiest way to remove all files. Something good from them...
