General Stock Discussion / UK Tax Return Issues
« on: October 13, 2015, 07:17 »
In previous years I have used the online CT600 form to file a corporation tax return and Companies House accounts simulataneously.

However I have just found on the HMRC website that the online filing service cannot now be used to report transactions and income from outside the UK. Presumably most stock sites fall into this category.

What is the most appropriate way of filing tax returns that include stock royalties (while trading as a Ltd co)?

Adobe Stock / Closed Account and No Payout
« on: November 05, 2013, 12:30 »
I recently requested closure of my account with FT after confirming with them they can pay the outstanding balance (but with a $1 fee because its less than $50). I told them to go ahead and do this and I subsequently received an email notification that they had replied to my message and to log into my account to read it. I tried to log in but my account had already been deleted and they have not responded to my email.

Anyone else had a similar experience? Did you manage to get paid?

General Stock Discussion / Science Photo Library
« on: June 28, 2013, 08:09 »
I am looking into producing images for submission to Science Photo Library and was wondering if there are any contributors here who work with this agency.

In particular I am interested in what kind of (annual) RPI is typical and what kind of portfolio size is needed to achieve sizeable returns (i.e. $1,000 per month). I will of course need to upgrade my camera as I believe they require images to be at least 12 megapixels uninterpolated.

I have a background in science so have some idea of the types of images that could be submitted.

I closed my iStockphoto account about 2 months ago and was advised that the balance of my earnings would be paid out after 30 days.

Well two months later my account is deactivated and I'm still waiting for a payment. I have sent two emails to iStock chasing this up however they have not replied.

I am just wondering if anyone else has closed their account with iStock and if so did they pay you what they owe you? If so how long did you have to wait? Or do iStock just have an unofficial policy that they don't need to bother paying quitting contributors and keep the money for their own profits?

If I have to wait much longer I think I may start seriously bad mouthing iStock and Gitty on Twitter and Facebook.
