Hi, I have the following problem: I write my titles, descriptions and keywords with Bridge. When I upload such a file to SS for example, I see that the file has only the first 64 characters for keywords. If I open the file in another program like Irfanview I see also only first 64 characters. I tried separating kw with comma, semicolon, no change. I guess Bridge is the problem. Any idea? Thank you. In my portfolio are 6000 pics in SS, Fotolia. I plan reduce the size to best earner 1000 pics, others, unsoldable, low earners, delete. Is it good idea?
Not a good idea. Why would you want to do that? I have garbage(in my opinion) in my port from the beginning which still make sales. I have sold the rights for a simple piece of sh*t on CS for 700$ (350$ my cut). Don't delete them!

For me FT is growing month after month. The percentages for income look like this:
SS vs FT
Jan 2014 55 vs 13
Jan 2015 42 vs 29
Jan 2016 44 vs 34 so far.

Hi Mat,
I noticed a difference between AS and FT. On AS you can't search by a certain keyword within a certain author portfolio. Any chance on changing that?

From my experience: if you are in the beginning and didn't find your niche yet, with 400 images you will get around 100 dls (DPI=0.25 aprox) and you will make 0.4-0.6$/dl.

After observing my sales pattern for a few months, I strongly feel there is something really wrong with SS reported sales.
I understand that the number of total photos is increasing and that sales can descrease, but I do not understand how is posssible that in the past two months daily sales are slowing down and stopping when approaching the 20 mark! This happens almost every day. Today, for example, 18 dlds at 2pm and then nothing...
I used to have between 25 and 35 sales in weekdays until last Spring, and then things leveled to the low... Very frustrating...anybody has the same problem?
I emailed Ss and waiting for some feedback...

Same here. In may/june I had 35 dl/day , dropped to 25 in 2 months and never recovered. I upload constantly and until june I was growing constantly. I am still growing on other sites but not on SS.

My problem is not choosing the right kw. I know what to put, I know those "w". I just want to know if less kw will take me up in searches. I guess I'll experiment with this.

Hi, A while ago I saw a little movie with somebody from DT Board suggesting that on DT less keywords is better and that she would recommend maximum 30. Trying to find that movie again(no success) I found this: http://blog.dreamstime.com/2014/03/28/keywording-tips-dt-keymaster_art40307and I quote: "Although many will disagree, defining your image with as few as 10 keywords is a good way to improve sales. It is very important to have the most relevant words in your list. Skip the fluff. When people have 50 keywords and only two match the buyer's search words, they will be further down the page(s) than someone with 10 keywords of which two match. It's a matter of percentage, 2 out of 50 is 4%, 2 out of 10 is 20%. That is one of the algorithm secrets (ssh, don't tell). " So , if an image has 50 keywords will appear in more searches than one with 10 but lower on order. My question is: does anybody know if this thing works the same on other sites? especially SS. I am using this app to know , at a moment, how much money have I made today. I know that agencies have different time zone but at 10 AM my time, I consider the day closed. I have an average of 60+ dl/day and I don't want to know every time a file is downloaded. This will only be useful for a beginner. Remember when you were a beginner and had 1 dl/day? Anyway, like I said, it is ok like that.

Interesting, but there are 7 other agencies in my list. I really love this app , Stock stats. It would be wonderful to set start hour 10 am and end hour 9.58 am (next day) and see the real numbers for a day. If it is not possible...that's ok.

DP is ok for me now.
Can you make possible to start the cycle lets say at 2am and finish at 1am(next day) ? It is not possible now. SS day ends at 10am (my country) and it would be wonderfull to have exact data.

I already got that. 123RF might be wrong because their last payment was not registered yet on the site. That means from 1 till 15 of the month I will nor get the correct amount even if on the site the amount is correct. Maybe you are not extracting the data correctly.
On all other agencies the app shows the correct amount, meaning how much I have on that agency regardless the month. For example FT - just withdraw 120, still have around 49 and the app shows 49. This month I have earned 42 and since i installed the app 1.59.
DP is 0 even though i have money there.

Thank you for your answers. It is true: it depends on what quality I produce, the model, number of pictures, etc. I guess I will try to find a free model and ask her to make-up herself and I will do a test session. I still have to pay to rent a studio which is 50 euros. I will see how it goes. I have some experience with illustrations sales and after a few weeks I will be able to do some estimations and see if it is working for me.

In my country, if you pay for model, make-up, location, it will cost around 200-250$ minimum. I wanted to know if it's worth it.

Hi,
I am in microstock from 2012 producing illustrations 95%, photos 5%. Now I want to develop my photograpy portofolio and i want to work with models. I did the research, prepare every detail, I did tests, etc. I am ready for my first photo shoot(that will produce microstock photos) with a model. Still, I have a few questions that remains unanswered. If you have experience and you are not IS exclusive, please help me:
1. How much do you spend on average on a photo shoot? Model, make-up, etc - total only.
2. How many photos do you produce on average in a photo shoot? I'm interested on how many pictures do you get accepted.
3. How much time passes by until you recover your investment? Days, weeks, months...
I know it depends on how many hours you book the model, but i just want to make an idea and to have some figures to compare with.
More hours, more money spent, more photos, I know. I just want to make some calculations.
