Its super odd how the connect to your shared folders on ONedrivbe and Google etc. You dont seem to actually upload to them. They just access your Onedrive and list the keywords

Thanks so much for your time to add this. I did search in the forums here and found nothing. Im with 12 agencies so have no issues just adding one more. Im always scared that an agency will somehow rip your images and never see them again

Thanks. The offer seemed to good to be true. $500 payout is rediculous also. Worth asking on here I thought

General Stock Discussion / Anyone on stockphoto.com??
« on: July 23, 2021, 01:44 »
Hi,

I got a message thru Instagram seeing if I wanted to join stockphoto.com with a free monetary bonus on signing up. Has scam written all over it.

But going to the site and not clicking link seems to show its legit. Anyone have experience of this?

Just wondering if anyone has come across this site before?

https://www.barewalls.com/prints-artist/filedimage_3.html

Just found nearly 2000 of my images on there. Presume they are connected to a stock agency and one would get paid if they sold a large print?

General Photography Discussion / Thoughts on our new website
« on: October 11, 2017, 00:50 »
Hi,

We are in the process of launching our new website we have been working on for about 6 months. Its a collaboration between an old friend of mine and myself, based around travel photography advice. Really aimed at helping people to maximize their time at a location for getting great photos. Lots of locations, advice, travel info etc. Places to eat we liked etc etc. I will feature articles about microstock too and my findings pros/cons etc after 4 years of doing stock.

Its a 50/50 mix of paid and free so plenty for people to see easily.

https://photobasecamp.com/

Would love some feedback on what people think of the idea.

Enjoy!

Chris

General Stock Discussion / Re: Black and white Images

General Stock Discussion / Black and white Images
« on: August 08, 2017, 13:13 »
Out of interest do people upload black and white images to stock sites? I presume its not done. I often do black and white for portarits as attached. I guess one could always upload two copies.

My default would be 'CHILTERN, AUSTRALIA- April 3: The quaint gold mining town of Chiltern in the Victorian High Country in Australia on April 3rd 2017'. Never ahd issues. The shutterbuzz editorial example is this.

CITY, STATE/COUNTRY MONTH DAY: Factual description of the image content

on [date] in [location]. Qualifying newsworthy second sentence (if necessary).

I guess i can slightly rewrite again. Just never had issues previous and hence my original question

Yeah ive taken a nother look away from what ive always done and have it like this 'CHILTERN - April 3: The quaint gold mining town of Chiltern in the Victorian High Country in Australia' . Completely rejected. Abouty 30 images of differing subjects. Its like I have a massive black mark against me all of a sudden.

Ah interesting. I have contacted them about representing at events without much luck. I actually shoot for Getty Images at many events but Shutterstock could be a good option.

Images I am trying to get approved are nearly all cityscape/tracel imagery with perhaps a  umber plate or name on a boat etc. Im fairly lazy at removing all logos etc. In the past I have just submitted as editorial. But now no luck

For a couple of months I literally have not had one editorial image approved due to wrong caption and facts etc. Ive been uploading for 4 years so I know how to do this and what type of image can be accepted. Or maybe I dont now haha. Anyone else having lots of issues getting editorial content approved?

I have a similar issue with property rights with Shutterstock for Uluru in Australia. I have full paid property release and suddenly get an email saying they are not selling these images anymore. Same thing happened last year and parks management backed me up and got them reinstated. Exactly same thing again a year later

I feel that Shutterstock pay no attention to releases. Big issues for places charging money for them as they are worthless. Then people will do whatever they want and not bother with releases. Luckily Uluru management see this and support me 100% and I am very impressed. Shame about Shutterstock though...

I read the bit about online not books.

Printed in physical form as part of product packaging and labeling, letterhead and business cards, point of sale advertising, billboards, CD and DVD cover art, or in the advertising and copy of tangible media, including magazines, newspapers, and books provided no Image is reproduced more than 500,000 times in the aggregate;

So yeah books can be published and they could pay 38 cents for an image unless its a MASSIVE seller. A lightbulb moment might have clicked as to now why people say microstock is killing the industry. I look at total earnings an image, and have never delved into individual sales. It just so happens that the image on the hotel site has never sold well and yet you see it being used here, hence my question thats all.

22
I klnow about image rights for macro stock and a simple blog article which id expect $0.38 for is slightly different for advertising usage for a large global corporation for what is looking like being used over 6 months now. I guess this is difference between book printing and web usage. Book printing pays way better, yet ironically most people would use online

General Stock Discussion / Possible Infringement- What To Do?
« on: March 05, 2017, 02:00 »
Hi,

Im not sure exactly what you get when purchasing an image form a microstock agency and usage terms. I found 2 of my images, the first one in particular are mine. Ive never sold for more than $2.85 from SS which doesnt seem like much money for an image being used like this. Especially for a major hotel brand.

http://www.lakecrackenback.com.au/

I have submitted a possible infringement with SS but like I say perhaps they are allowed as file size would be quite small.

Thoughts?

General Stock Discussion / ImageBrief Payments
« on: December 02, 2016, 18:25 »
Hi

Anyone having issues getting payments from ImageBrief. I signed up to Premium, got a sale about 4 months ago. Heard nothing except for receipts of my monthly payments I make. I've emailed twice and get no reply. Very concerning
