As I said.... small daily fluctuations most likely exchange rate related.

I'd imagine prices will also fluctuate based on exchange rates clients/customers are paying. When I see a shift in those exchanges rates the $ I receive also changes. I don't think the changes are always discounts, although that does happen as well. The customers sub is set once a year @ what ever $ or whatever currency they pay in so as the exchange rate changes, it may mean the $ per image also shifts as the strength of the $ also shifts. Also, it could be to do with the volume. If a client doesn't make use of their full allocation 400 images instead of 500 then the split may vary. It's probably quite a complex but has a base to stop it dropping below minimum payment.
I only occasionally see one drop below $0.38 and see a lot of $1.03. Sometimes they drop to $0.99... ebb and flow, they change like the (economic) tide! 3

Very true. I do the same now. For me, retiring wouldnt be a complete stop, just focus on areas I enjoy the most when I have time. Another 10years of gradual wind down! 4

I learned early on that if anyone is serious about making a career from this business, they should follow one simple rule. Do not divulge or give away details of what works for you including images that sell well. You have to treat it as a business and businesses do not provide, "Secrets of their success" to help their competitors take money from them. It sounds harsh but ultimately it will serve you well. Sorry if this sounds nasty but it's hard enough in this line of work without shooting yourself in the foot. That said, I do enjoy teaching so when I retire, I would like to teach one or two people about how I did things. Not so much for money etc, just because I like the idea of passing something on. Broke top 500 lifetime rank 491 and holding steady around 200 weekly (189 at the moment).

After copycats, I started to delude my portfolio. Not really, although I prefer to sail under the radar and never share or preview anything I do. I try to stay dark. @halffull - at a rank of 79 (or even hovering around 100), what approximate # of downloads is that per week? Just taken a look at that time. Daily figures then ranged between 220 - 320 a day... about 1700 for that week. If I achieve that again I'd be very happy. I'm a realist though, 100's is a good high! 9

I just checked my ranking spread sheet and it was actually 79 not 97 as my best performing week. Right numbers just wrong order. If I remember correctly I started with Fotolia/Adobe sometime around 2013/14. I used to upload a lot to begin with but I've learned volume isn't necessarily king. Quality, quality, quality is my mantra now so I try to avoid volume for the sake of it. I'd rather submit 10 good images a month than 100 average. I love what I do so I feel very lucky in that sense! No AI. For the work I do I just see too many mistakes that I'd have to correct. Not as much control/precision. By the time I've found the right AI image and corrected it, I could have taken / drawn it myself 😂. But, each to their own. It's what works for you that counts. 10

Just coming back with the response from DP when I asked what had changed. See below, just XXX out the real names. It seems the only change is the payout!
"HI xxxxxxx, The change is that from now the minimum payout is $25 and not $50, other terms did not change. Feel free to contact us 24/7 if you have any further questions or require any assistance. Kind regards, xxxxxxxxx" 14

I've emailed to ask for a summary detailing the changes as even with the old document it would be very easy to miss any changes made. I'm not entirely sure how legal those changes would be... certainly setup in such a way as to bury them and make it hard for the user to see what they're up to. Not very transparent. 16

Adobe Stock / Re: I think AI generated photo sales will tank eventually« on: September 27, 2023, 03:12 »I wouldn't say completely anecdotal as the company I work for, a $3B company, uses AI almost exclusively....and it's a huge marketing driven company. I was able to pluck the robin image she did for me. It looks pretty good. Here is the link to the full Rez image she built. I mean honestly, nobody can predict what pivots AI will take, but since I'm seeing current state with a pretty big graphically driven company, it's at least an indicator of what's happening, or beginning to happen. I do think much of your post has merit. I'm just seeing someone who is very good with keywords and A.I. create many incredible interior designs, exterior home scapes , etc. I can't believe she'd be the only one doing this as a means to support an annual marketing budget of $20 million. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/zylpx3ikxdh3gonmb2p14/MicrosoftTeams-image.png?rlkey=l4mrpfv626ewwsy5sg4t6a1br&dl=0 I could be wrong but the wing of that AI Robin is closer to that of a female Chaffinch. It certainly doesn't look like an any robin I've seen in the garden. The feathers below the red breast are also too white. 18
Adobe Stock / Re: review times??« on: September 21, 2023, 12:00 »
The latest non AI png files I had approved had been waiting about a month and a half. For a company the size of Adobe, it's a little embarrassing that they can't manage this. They have the money and resources to correct it.
It must be getting to the point when they realise the only way to resolve it is to pause the intake of AI content until they can bring in new staff to get the numbers back down to a sensible level. 19

Adobe Stock / Re: Account blocked - I need help please« on: September 14, 2023, 03:28 »3 week block could be several thousand dollars. But in any case it is nearly one month income missing. Well said and a really good idea. It deserves a thread of its own to be honest with maybe input from Mat. As he's the face of contributor support and has always been really helpful with problems in the past, it maybe something he can feedback on. At the same time, while the system needs to protect contributors from errors etc, it does need to punish serial offenders so I understand and appreciate Adobes efforts, it just feels like it is a little out of balance at the moment but with a few tweaks it may offer the right balance of protection for both the agency and contributor while not providing a free ticket to deliberate rule breakers. 22
Software - General / Re: Adobe Storage Plan« on: September 14, 2023, 02:23 »
Mat maybe able to cast further light on this but, just to say that I'm actually paying for the extra storage (1tb) for use with Lightroom (mobile version). I received the full package which includes 100gb I believe. I was able to pay for it via the Adobe Account page that details apps available etc.

Adobe Stock / Re: Account blocked - another story« on: September 14, 2023, 02:11 »
I have to admit, it's stories like this that stop me from submitting any AI imagery. Especially when it's an act first ask questions later approach. I do feel they should reach out first giving the contributor X number of days to respond. It could be something that is resolved very quickly and prevent someone's income being taken away which maybe relied on for paying for food and bills etc. This is my only income so the thought of it being cut off for any period of time is worrying to say the least.
I hope it's sorted out very quickly!!! 24
Adobe Stock / Re: Big credit but no sale. Has this happened to anyone else?« on: September 13, 2023, 08:25 »Mat, if you see this... first off I'd just like to say thanks, much appreciated. Thanks for the response Mat. I guess you'll have seen quite a few pages of the AI errors that have been accepted. Is it the intention of Adobe to really ramp up the reviewing process. It seems that the reviewers are probably under a lot of pressure at the moment (given the long delays for image approvals) which may result in rushed decisions. 25

Mat, if you see this... first off I'd just like to say thanks, much appreciated.
Couple of questions though, Secondly, will AI generated images be included or excluded from the AI bonus. I guess if they're included in Firefly learning there maybe a risk that AI is trying to learn from itself including the mistakes... that could lead to poor results in the long run. I guess there will also be a risk it would accelerate the numbers of AI images being submitted... we already have over a month wait for images to be approved so there is potential for this to deteriorate further.
