In this case it was an L standard. And I havent seen it as a free Dl yet. Its kind of scary with ELs. Imagine having a bestseller all of a sudden available as free download on some site...

Ok. So it is in the licence terms. That good. I guess I still need to check on that website once in a while though.
Some people belive a picture is a picture, and can be upzized no matter of resolution or size. It actually happens quite often in magazines, that ads are in 72dpi:)

I have a question? Is it allowed to buy a Rf image and put it on a website as free download? I checked out a company that bought one of my images at FT, and they offer free wallpapers. Have not seen mine there yet though It cant be ok can it?

Aha!
Now were talking...
This can be huge! What about a closeup shot of grass with blue sky in the background?

I think its sad we let the big companies control us. Its the same with everything nowadays....
I do as everyone else "wait and see". Let the loosers dig for gold, so we can step in and take it, when found.
Sad, lazy and true...

I was gonna shoot this myself, but I'll share them with you...only if everyone promise not to steal my ideas.
A group of teenagers greeting an arriving fire truck to a house fire, and handing out marshmallows and sticks.
Thats awesome Miz, But skip the part where people jump out the windows...

It must be the more good commercial images you have in your portfolio, the less you notice the ups and downs. If you have mostly nature and architecture they get berried among 4 milions, so that you need to continue uploading every week to maintain steady sales. Right?

Congrats:)
May I ask how many of those Dls you got in 2008?
Ive got the feeling the golden years ended just when I started with this...
Well, yes and no. My # of downloads at istock has declined somewhat over the past couple of years despite diligent uploading, but the prices have been rising quite a bit, so the money is staying about even with last year.
Bear in mind when I started there the royalties for sm, medium, & large were .10, .20, and .30. It took a LOT longer to reach payouts.
Great to hear! Its nice to see you great portfolio of ordinary "real" people. It gives me hope:)

If you have 3-4000 images and take away all the ones you have with the big 6. How many is left? Im kinda new with this. but why would anyone pay more at Yay than SS. We gotta be more exclusive if we wanna sell at midstock sites. Am I wrong?
Maybe some of belives that there still is buyers that dont want cheap crap:)

What's hit me first it's the specs looks more like the D200 than the D300, whit this 95% coverage and it's 5fps, one less than the D300 at 6fps.
"Only" 5 frames per seconds. 5 frames FX is quite a lot compared to 6 frames dx. Anyway, You better tell those tomatoes and limes to stand still on the white then:)

They have all the options for editorial/Rf etc, and the upload process is much more controlled since the last months. Im not sure if that protects them in case of lawsuit. And getting sued in Sweden doesnt mean 100 Milion$. Its more like 2000$. But how it works if they get sued by an American company Im not sure of ? Anyway, I agree with that needs to be taking care of!

I'm sorry but Magnum's post smacks of jealousy. Calling out somebody else's work is low and very unprofessional. Truth is, it's a great shot and if you spend time looking at the rest of her portfolio, her work is solid across the board. If I were a buyer, I'd grab her stuff like a kid grabs candy.
Sure, there are times when I wonder why an image is so popular but, as stated, the customer is always right. There are times I think that the image is badly done or could use improvement. But I would never, ever say anything (unless I'm their teacher). This type of behavior reminds me of how teenage girls are in high school. When they see a pretty girl, they start talking trash about her behind her back. They end up looking like idiots for doing so.
Sorry Magnum but I think you crossed the line. You need to focus on your own work and stop calling other people out on what's "wrong" with their work. If the creator of that image showed up here, I'm sure she would be hurt that you essentially trashed an image she may be incredibly proud of (and should be!).
Marj out!
My intention was not to cross the line here, but I guess I did in your point of view. Its hard to get the right feeling to Text. Ive been a snowboarder for a big part of my life, and that do a little to it, I think. Shooting snowboarders, and living with snowboarders, watching movies of snowboarders. Ill have to say again, that Id have thrown that in the garbage if I didnt know about stock buyers. And as I said before. No offense to the Photographer! /M
