OK, Alamy is fairly variable, but I generally get a sale or two a week. But now for 4 weeks now NOTHING. Zip. Zilch. Anybody else found this?

Connection error. Network send error. Any idea what this means? I can't log in.....let alone upload...

After Dec being the worst month for YEARS, Jan did surprisingly well. Not great but good.Couple decent SODs on SS rescued the day there and AL showed more life than it has for ages. Other sites barely worth mentioning though....all ever feebler.
I wonder if AL are doing something different - several of us report upswings there...?

I see on their website that my commission model is Alamy Blue. Anybody any idea what this means? Are there different colours/rates etc?

The system is just showing me a couple of OLD batches - no recent ones - and I can't get it to accept a new batch either. I have just checked for updates and it say some update from Dec 10, but still I cannot upload/set up a new batch etc. Any ideas? Am I missing something obvious? Edited to add: OK. Seems there was a button to see 'all active batches' or something....anyway, back in business.

Am I right in understanding you need to sign up with Medium (?) in order to get this to work?

How much tax do they deduct if you don't fill out the forms?

Brilliant! Thanks all! Not perfect but looks like this might just fit the bill! Thanks so much to all.
Much better than the links in the past, where you got some long/strange link, that had to be converted in Tiny URL and often wouldn't work, or would change. Every time I look now, it says I can make a unique link, one time no changes, which I do and then the next time it says the same thing.
Also I once had a search of my files, which I linked from a couple websites. When I went, sometimes it would say, not found or if someone searched it would find no files, when I have thousands. The new one also works better for this as well.
Good Luck = Have Fun.
Ah. Oh well. Here's hoping!!!

Thanks ShadySue. The issue is that I don't have a website - think costs, time, technology to master - but also selling direct from here in Italy would be financially a non-starter due to upfront fees etc... Just that on rare occasions people ask to see my images and it would be nice to point them somewhere...not too microstock!

Am I right in thinking that there is no way to give a link to my portfolio on Alamy to a potential buyer? I can see no way to do this....

OK. 50% or 60% all round would have been great. BUT.... given most of us send mostly the same stuff to all agencies, it is us that have meant that agencies do largely end up selling the same stuff and that they cannot differentiate themselves by exclusive images which can't be found elsewhere. Hence price and commission competition. What did we expect? I hope that Alamy will take the initiative and try to get more exclusive stuff - maybe even get back to 60% for it, and try to gain market share as a result. If all sites continue to sell the same stuff then commodity prices will be paid by customer to the agency - and by the agency to us.
