Keywords seems to have become a necessary evil, with most submitters putting in all 50 keywords just to maximise chances of a view.

This is clear in the kind if results stock sites show up even for very specific queries. So it'll be interesting to kmow how buyers are actually searching for stuff. Is it a word, aeries of words, an actual sentence etc

Maybe not as bad as the others, but seems like they are trying to lure people back. Would you restart post this

As a photographer, you deserve a place to share your photos, connect with a global community and make money doing what you love! Have a hard time picking which photos to share? We've got you. Starting September 1 were not just doubling but TRIPLING your upload limit from 7 to 21 images per week.

With triple the uploads, youll be able to get even more feedback and engagement on your photos, participate in more community activities like Quests and have more chances to have your work featured in the exclusive Editors Choice. And if that's still not enough, you can always upgrade to an Awesome or Pro membership for unlimited uploads!

Plus, were making a few exciting changes to our Licensing payout structure starting September 1:

If you submit exclusive content (youre not submitting it to other stock websites) you will receive a royalty of 60%.

If you submit non-exclusive content you will receive a royalty of 25%.

If you upgrade to a Pro or Awesome membership, you will receive a royalty of 100% on all exclusive content. ( thats unheard of in the stock photography business

Thanks everyone, figured out the opt out. Also removed plus from account settings and preferences for good measure.

How long till they charge us to sell pics,

Gave it a shot today, it seems to be unforgiving with my HP laptop with integrated intel XE graphics. It almost melted.

But its pretty fun to use vs Adobe that seems to throw up strange problems at times

31
I'm trying to see some tutorials and I guess creating multiple timelines and then queuing them should be similar to me creating multiple compositions and then queuing them for render.

Noise reduction, stability and hopefully ability to add some text are my main reasons to switch. Also hoping that it runs better on my potato of a laptop (with intel graphics) vs premiere

32
Given the cost and issues with Adobe I'm planning to switch video editing to DaVinci Resolve. Wanted to know if any others are using it and if the workflow (after the steep learning curve) is better

In Premiere, I usually take one long video or multiple clips. Turn them into 10-15 sec compositions. Edit, stabilize and color them and then use media encoder to create the output files for upload. Can all this be done

33
So the only way out for now is to head over to the very messy qhero site to upload

34
I tried reaching out to stocksubmitter but there was some error there also. Also last time they suggested that it was due to the login being incorrect (which in my case it's not)

35
Hey everyone

I've been using Stock Submitter to get my files up across stock sites including iStock. However for the last few months I've been getting an error when I try to pull ESP keywords using stock submitter.

The error reads "Error fetching ESP terms for keywords : ParseErrorDelayed (Got an internal server error in response to a knock.)

I've been using the following API key in the past : bq9gg32wtfed9kshgtjrxwd

Not very sure what is going wrong. Can someone please guide me. Using stock submitter is loads better than going through qhero

36
Started getting this issue again asking for the new api key. Using the old one just gives an error "Parse error, unable to find authentication form" . How do I solve this?

This is the new key, deactivate and add this and re-verify and it will work.....

bq9gg32wtfed9kshgtjrxwd6

For some reason I'm now not able to get the ESP keywords on iStock again. Has the key changed again? What is the way to ensure I keep getting the new keys?

37
This looks pretty cool, more than photographers I'm guessing this is also scaring a ton of graphic designers

Shutterstock Contributor Platform Gets an Update in 2022

Exciting updates are coming as we improve the contributor experience.

With the launch of 2022, Shutterstock is hard at work improving the contributor experience, starting with the backbone a refresh of the contributor account. We are updating our contributor platform to improve site performance with cleaner navigation; where earnings, portfolio and insights are more easily accessible, so you can keep your creativity productive.

Were excited for this refresh, which will allow us to roll out new features throughout the year.

Phase I

The work will be completed in phases, giving you the opportunity to explore the refreshed navigation with just a few pages at a time. Here is what you can expect starting in March:

Earnings Summary: A centralized view of your earnings with filters to drill down into asset types or products used to license your content.

My Referrals, Account Settings and Public Profile: A redesigned page layout with easier navigation.

Payment History: A cleaner presentation that isolates the key information on a transaction, giving you the ability to dive into the details when you want to.

Tax Center: A new look and feel with the same ability to manage and download your tax forms.

Navigation

Youll notice that the navigation bar on the refreshed pages has moved to the left, which will eventually be present on every page. Until the migration of the entire contributor experience is completed in late spring, the navigation bar will remain at the top on pages that are yet to migrate.

Phase II

Once the above work is complete, well get started on laying the groundwork for Phase II, which will bring exciting changes to the following features:

Uploading and Submission

Overview of Pending and Reviewed content

Catalog Manager

Homepage

As the migration continues, we will update this article with relevant information to keep you informed and help you get acquainted with the new experience on our site. Check back here for more updates soon!

Wed love to hear your feedback on the new site as you use it just use the feedback link in the banner on the redesigned pages.

MicrostockSubmitter / Re: Stocksubmitter not starting today

Seems like an issue at my end then. Will try for a reinstall tomorrow then.

What is the telegram handle for their support?

MicrostockSubmitter / Stocksubmitter not starting today
« on: February 26, 2022, 12:25 »
Hi

Strangely when starting stock submitter today it goes to the screen showing 0 updates (files changed) then suddenly disappears and nothing else starts. Any ideas? Trying to avoid a reinstall since i have some videos with meta data that i haven't uploaded yet

42
Having just told Alamy to close my account, I'm now done with microstock, and with so-called "sales" that net me 4 cents. My goal for 2022 is to forget about these crooks, try to do some good photos that people like, and sell a print now and then via POD.

Sickening feeling but today i photograph all the gear that might be of some value to sell and list it, keeping one lower end camera and that's it.  It's over.  Job search and a big of day trading is now my full time job.  I will leave the content up in case a sale happens but it's over as business.
This is heartbreaking, wishing you all the very best for these new avenues. Hope you still find joy in photography

Definitely working on leveling up my photography and video game this year

1. Learn the magical art of colour grading and shooting in log profiles

2. Figure out ways to get great drone videos. Learn the skills around both flying and composing amazing stuff using it

3. Shoot more often. Often the day job tends to sap all intent to shoot anything requiring an effort. Hopefully overcome that this year

Surprised at how low dec was for me. Seems like shutterstock buyers went on a break almost mid Dec. Will try doing this analysis today

Shutterstock.com / Re: does SS do not like anymore new photos???
« on: December 14, 2021, 08:26 »
I have been uploading to SS for 5+ years and build a portfolio of 4k+ pictures, but lately it is almost impossible to get new content approved as it is declined for the weirdest reasons, mainly focus or noise, lens dirt, posterization etc.
obviously total nonsense as I know how to edit photos and have pro gear

what is wrong with them? are they viewing the photos in 400% resolution and think they are out of focus?
do they have space problems and dont want new pics anymore?

my acceptance ratio is from 100% to 20% now and I am feeling a little desperate.....

Welcome. I don't know if you were on the defunct Shutterstock forum, but there were quite a few threads on the subject.
With me they are often right about lens dirt. Usually almost invisible. If I remove it, it will be approved.
Also on this forum there is a not so old topic: https://www.microstockgroup.com/shutterstock-com/focus-pocus!/
Could you guide me on how you finally identified all this almost invisible lens/sensor dust? Helpful to improve quality

Just in time since the cliff dive at the year end is almost here

47
Thanks a ton, will give this a shot. Just need to add to stock submitter right? Didn't understand what you meant by deactivate

General Stock Discussion / Re: Stock video

I've mostly been putting vidoes directly on sites like Pond5 and Adobe. The BB Facebook and fourums seems pretty positive, with people posting about new milestones and increasing earnings. Did not know wirestock did video also

Pond5 / Re: Pond5 halved prices for all clips

Do we have to manually set them back at the correct prices? It seems like a fixed price for HD and another for 4K regardless of what it was initially
