Whenever you sync (the sync button on the upload page), DeepMeta will check for you to see if there are now royalty statements to download and will download them.

New statements are published by Getty every month around the 20th.

Thank you, i found the hidden sync button.  Sales, portfolio and statistics are still missing :-\
Best to send me an email (https://www.deepmeta.com/Contact/Form/) with the username you use in DeepMeta and I'll have a look in the logs to see what I can find. Thanks!

Looking forward to that!  Do you need a beta tester?
I am planning to start a beta-test program in the near future (not for the first next few releases yet, though).
So if you're interested, drop me an email (https://www.deepmeta.com/Contact/Form/) and I'll put you on the list of candidates. Thanks.

That's correct.

At this moment, it's still not possible to retrieve your entire portfolio from the new iStock/Getty servers.
As we speak, I'm working on functionality to import your "old" DeepMeta 2 data into DeepMeta 3.

One of the challenges is that our old files have keywords from the iStock CV (Controlled Vocabulary), while the new ESP system uses the Getty vocabulary. There's no direct translation from one to the other.

Anyway, seeing my own portfolio re-appear in DeepMeta 3 was a great experience, and I hope to release the code somewhere next week.

Franky looks in here from time to time, but is regularly on the appropriate iStock forum, so that could be your quickest channel of info.
That's correct, thanks ;)

@Txking: best to contact me directly (https://www.deepmeta.com/Contact/Form/) with your DeepMeta username, so that I can look things up.
See you over there ;)

Hey Franky :)

How do we set it to import all the statistics, sales and statements?

Cheers
Make sure you have the latest version and have a look at following pages of the guide:

These are usually corrections. Click on the header of the "#invoice" column to sort by invoice number. You will see another line with the same invoice number. Add up the 2 lines to see the whole story. (your royalty for the transaction as a whole will not be 0).

I noticed you posted the same question on the iStock forum. Just letting you know I replied there ...

Yes, very strange indeed. Maybe your account got a free upgrade to "admin" status ;)
Seriously though, most probably some of those rare server glitches.

Happy uploading and post back if you bump into anything else.

Hi Frankey,

I got this error message when trying to upload a single raster file marked as an illustration:

Error: 422: collection_code: cant be blank - status: cannot transition via mark for review - base: Cannot submit this Contribution

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance...

Never seen that one. Must have been some temporary server condition. I suggest you have a look at the file/batch on the ESP site, see what you find there and click the "Submit" button if needed.

86
Thanks Franky. That helped me. Now how do I see the keywords for the files?
Could you explain a little more? Where do you want to see the keywords? Do you mean see the keywords on the ESP site when you do a revision?

Thanks
Yes. Just getting used to their setup. I was concerned that the file data wasn't attached and now I see that it is. All is good. Thanks for your quick response.
OK, makes sense now. Thanks!

When you create a new batch, you need to select "editorial image" instead of "creative image" in the dropdown list. All images in that batch will be editorial.

Colors: it would be nice if we could set our own preferred colors (and an emergency "reset" button for dumb people), but I ask urgently a change for the refine-keywords section: please something VERY different for the already-selected keywords ... like red ... blue ... even bold-black would be better readable than this, for me :(

I tried the "move column" option in the "reviews" section and I couldn't move anything: only add/remove.

Sync worked well!

 :)

Thanks for trying out the new features.

Very valid point about making the distinction cleared between "already-selected" keywords and the others. I'll make this better in the next release.
I did away with the orange, on popular request from a lot of users. Of course you're right, being able to choose the colors yourself will eventually be the best solution.

About the "move column" option. That doesn't even exist. The "add/remove" option does both: if you select an already existing column, you'll move it to where you clicked. If you select a new one, you'll add it at that spot.

Thanks again.

91
Yes, this is a known issue and will be fixed in the next release.
Thanks for reporting!

Franky

Since you uploaded them with DeepMeta, the easiest is to right-click the file (or ctrl-click on a Mac) in the list in DeepMeta and select "View on ESP site". (first screenshot).

That will take open your browser directly on the ESP page for that batch. Click the thumbnail of the image to be "revised", and you will see the "revision reason" at the right hand. I've included an example from one of my own test batches, to show how it looks. (second screenshot).

Then do whatever the revision text says, if possible.

A revision is like a kind of "probation" where you get a second chance before the file being rejected ;)

PS. I'm currently working on showing this info right in DeepMeta itself and let you do it all there.
Still, it's not bad to learn your way around the ESP site, you'll need this from time to time.

Thank you, Franky.

Do you mean I need to double click the keyword in grey line if the suggested terms in orange don't fit? If so, then i've tried but nothing happens. I have the 3.0.3 version.

UPDATE: I've just reinstalled to the latest version which is 3.0.10 and now this option works, thank you very much!
Yes, due to all the issues "the first month of ESP" (some still unresolved), I've been releasing new versions like a mad man :D

Good to see you caught up and thanks again for your reports.

94
Hey Franky

I wanted to give you a short feedback about the given solution:
It really works as you described!

I've changed the upload region to "US West", updated DeepMeta3 to the latest version, and now my vector + illustration files are getting uploaded correctly @ ESP. No further issues now!

Thanks for your support!

That's interesting. Thanks very much for reporting this!
I'm in touch with a Getty developer working on this, and will pass this info on to him.

Hello Franky!

I have the latest version of DeepMeta but I'm having this issue with some of the keywords: for some of the geographic locations I am only offered options that don't fit and no chance to use my keyword as it is, thus I'm not able to use some of the important tags at all.
Could you suggest what to do, please?

My keywords language at ESP is set to English already.

Many thanks

First of all, if you're using the latest version, you now set the keywording language in DeepMeta itself, in the "Preferences" window. Make sure it's set like you want there.

Next, also in the latest version(s), if you don't like any of the suggested terms, you can click the keyword itself (at the top of the box with terms).

In the example above, you can click "blow" and "dandelion" (they are buttons in the latest versions) instead of any of the orange terms.

Give it a try and let me know (I should update the "getting started" guide with this info ...)

Thanks

Thanks Franky,
I figured out how to edit the "needs revision" files. It turns out that my keywords are not valid... Why are words like "food", "yellow", "sweet"etc not valid?

This whole editting system on the ESP site is very time consuming and confusing. I guess I better wait till everything can be done in DM!
Thanks for letting me know.

One thing I have discovered since, it that you can get this error if the language you used at time of adding the keywords changed when you actually upload the file. Say your keywording language was English, then "food" and "yellow" are ok of course. If you happened to change your keyword language to "Russian" later on and upload the file, the you'll get the error that the keywords are not valid.

I'm not saying this was the cause in your case, just sharing something I discovered.

Thanks for your reply.

Still the same error. :-(

Message:
"Notes
Apologies, unfortunately the jpg file has corrupted. This could be a bug in Deep Meta. Please re-upload or try ESP."
Thanks for reporting. I've asked Getty development team to help me sort this out.

------

Edited to add: one thing you could try that might be helpful, is to select "US West" as your "upload region" in DeepMeta settings.
I've had a few vector artists who no longer had issues after doing this.
(and make sure you use the latest version of DeepMeta of course).

The idea behind this is that Getty eventually moves all files to the US region, so if you upload directly to that region, nothing can go wrong with the transfer of your files to that region.

Thanks!

Hi all

I have some issue depending the upload with DeepMeta3 and Vector files.

Generally the upload process itself works fine with DeepMeta3.
I always upload eps+jpeg (high res) files and they always gonna be queued for the getty reviser.

But: After the files are checked and approved, I receive the following messages:
The ESP system says "NEEDS REVISE".

To fix this, I have to login myself into the ESP system and choose the right batch and add the JPEG files manually again to every vector file. The system/reviser message says, that the jpeg files are broken and I have to re-upload them.

This problem concerns _EVERY_ vector upload I make with DeepMeta3.

Is this problem already known?
Any hints?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. ;-)

You're not doing something wrong ;)

There have been issues with Illustration uploads over the past few weeks.

As author of the DeepMeta software, I've reported this to the Getty developer team and got feedback that indeed there were issues with thumbnails last week. These should be solved now.

Still following up on this though. Thanks for reporting.

Thanks Franky.... that's the big green "new submission" button.

Before I hit the button, I had one batch: 2 uploaded, 0 submiited
After the button: 0 uploaded, 0 submitted.....

Submission date: 2017-02-27  (No images)
No files are associated with this submission.

Looks like the green button works as a "Delete"button!

I found the needs revision message: where can we do that? Would be great if those files were send back to DM for a re-edit!
Ah no, not that one: that's for creating new (submission batches). You have to go back to the main page:
https://esp.gettyimages.com/app
Where you should see the batches listed below. You then click on the number of one of the batches, it will take you to a new tab with the files.

In the attached screenshot, you see 2 batches: "video" and "New-Edito": you'd have to click on the number 693897 for the video batch to see the files in that batch and complete them (just an example of course).

And, you're right, it will be easier when you can do everything in DeepMeta. I'm currently working on that functionality.
Thanks

Hi Frank,

Thanks for developing this new version.

I've started trying to use it but I'm finding it extremely tedious and time consuming to select the keywords. It would be a lot quicker if there was several columns of keywords rather than just that one column. Also if you skip past some keywords in the refine column and select something further down you constantly have to keep scrolling back and forth.

I also find copying and pasting keywords between similar images isn't working.

Thanks for your help,
Mike
Thanks for the feedback Mike.

I'm curious why you're skipping past keywords in the refine column.
If you work the way I show in the intro video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FcuqTYb7T0), you simply either pick the term/meaning that applies most, or delete the box. The next keyword box will scroll right up. I find I hardly have to move the mouse to go through them all. (note that earlier versions did not allow you to delete the boxes, so it used to be harder, that's true)

Just trying to learn different needs, so I'm always interested to get feedback. Thanks!
