Over the years I've noticed that when sales are made the keyword order of images gradually changes from alphabetical to 'most popular'.  That also has something to do with search placement for those most popular keywords.

However over the past two or three months I've noticed that the keyword order for new uploads isn't changing and remains alphabetical even for images that have sold a few times.  I've also found that instead of new images with sales gradually becoming more popular, they sell a few times then disappear.  I wonder if this is also something to do with the keyword order not changing.

Has anyone noticed something similar?

Nope but I did notice what you did that the keywords changed by sales and some mystery popularity sort that SS applied. Used to depend on where I looked, image gallery stats was different from catalog manager. I see what you mean, most are alpha sort now. But I checked my all time best seller, which is on page two middle of popular  :o and the words are not alpha sort.

Looked at a more recent file with 300+ downloads since 2016 and they are alpha. Also noticed that some images have lost the downloads by keywords data and more link. No answer, some do some don't, either of these. I don't know if it's file age? Take a look. It's not by downloads.

I noticed that no keywords are listed for any of the sales from images uploaded in 2018 (which is sadly not a lot of sales). Maybe they have lost the ability to keep track of the keywords used for sales with the huge volume of new images. That would also explain some of the erosion of the quality of the searches people say is happening (any search that doesn't have my images at the top is horrible).

(edited to clarify what I was saying)

Images that previously had words used were missing that choice to Show More + yesterday. Today most of my images have that back. Some still missing from recent DLs. Usual SNAFU
