please create a new guideline for listing vaccination status with all images with or without people. we want to make sure everyone is vaccinated so we should also include nature photos, animals, inanimate objects, abstracts, etc for vaccination declaration.

I will start by voluntarily adding vaccination status to all of my photos.

"unvaccinated healthy biological male living life without respiratory infection" is an example of what people should write for a portrait of a biological male

excerpts: Use adjectives and not nouns when referring to a persons race or ethnicity. e.g., say a Hispanic person (adj.) rather than a Hispanic (n.)

this is INCORRECT.

"a Hispanic person" is not an adjective. it is a noun and an adjective.

never in my mind if I heard someone say "a Hispanic walks into a bar" that the word "hispanic" is a noun. it is an adjective and the noun (person) is implied.

the entire basis for your guidelines is wrong.

What is an implied subject example?

Implied subjects occur when a sentence does not state the doer of the action, but it is clear to whom the sentence is referring.

"A Hispanic walks into a bar"

the implied subject is "Hispanic person". it is not dehumanizing.

please stop using any language referring to citizenship, citizen, etc.

please only refer to citizens as 'documented persons'.

for example, "photo of group of people who are now documented"

or "my father upon achieving documented status"

or "Barack Obama, a documented person, giving a speech"

or, "photo of birthing person giving birth to a documented baby"

or, "drawing of George Washington fighting for documented status independent of England"

or, "video of 20 undocumented persons running across border while be chased by 3 documented law enforcement persons"

or, "video of 20 undocumented persons running across border while be chased by 3 persons who are in the country legally"

Wonder if they are going to enforce the same thing on buyers, what are they trying to do, erase common sense?

words and phrases now offensive:

"new yorker" such as "new yorker hailing a cab".

"texan", such as "texan driving his truck while waving the Texas flag".

"boater", such as "boater out on the lake with his motorboat"

"surfer", such as "surfer having fun on big waves". now banned

"police", such as "police arrested a non-documented person".

you cannot say 'the police' just like you cannot say 'the hispanics'. very problematic

extremely offensive and dehumanizing

other offensive words:

you can not say:

"Bedouins walking in the desert"

or "Brazilians cheering on their soccer team"

or "Mongolians living in the mountain plains"

all offensive

"fat" is offensive

you should say:

"person who is not thin"

old is hurtful, so say "person who is no longer young"

words that demean a person should be banned. here are some examples:

"sad girl crying"
"woman suffering from depression"
"person with gunshot wound"

instead we should write them as:

"girl who is not happy crying"
"woman experiencing non happiness"
"person with part of body that is in the process of healing"

"homeless" should be "person without a home"
"landlord" should be "evil straight white man who overcharges POCs"

For the love of god... and they wonder why the silent majority look at the woke identity politics of today and just shack their heads. They talk about being inclusive while placing everyone into individual small boxes. Would it be possible just to treat and respect each other as humans rather than focusing on skin colour and differences and placing us into neat groups and trying to figure out ways not to be offensive.... which is more offensive than not trying at all.

It's becoming so crazy now that people are switching off. From someone who is older and not hurt to be mentioned as such... it's a fact of life. What's likely to offend me much more is if someone was to tell me, "You're a person who is no longer young". Why is old, mature... experienced suddenly offensive. It's starting to sound like people are being taught to speak like Yoda!

please confirm:

can we say something like:

"cheesehead at packers game" or is that also offensive?

it was originally an offensive term to refer to people playing against Wisconsin, so based on its history it is offensive.

just like to point out that searching for 'cheesehead' on shutterstock pulls up a lot of problematic images:

"vegan" is offensive and must be removed because it dehumanizes people.

for example:

"a vegan eating kale"

« Reply #40 on: September 01, 2021, 08:29 »

you need to put this in your guidelines.

people cannot say this because it is offensive:

"a hispanic vegan texan waving the texas flag while eating kale and speaking spanish"

it dehumanizes people.

question for Shutterstock.

are these new guidelines just for sellers, or do they apply to buyers to?

its your company and you can whatever you want, so enforce these guidelines on your buyers. i do not want my photo of a person of hispanic heritage to be described as a 'hispanic person' on one of your buyer's blogs.

please post a copy of your new guidelines for your buyers so we can verify that you are not  dehumanizing sellers.

shutterstock demands we follow their new rules, but they do not follow their own rules.

their auto complete for searches, and keywords, are filled with prohibited terms such as 'illegal immigrant', 'homeless', 'poor people', 'gay men', 'hispanic isolated', etc.

this makes me feel dehumanized when I have to obey rules that you yourself do not follow

For the love of God. It's not "woke" people making anyone do anything. It is corporations like Shutterstock virtue signalling in the easiest cheapest way possible for them. It isnt the left going too far. Its billionaires and their companies not doing a single concrete thing for anyone while pretending to give a flying f**k about anything but their bottom line. And you are falling for it and arguing over identity politics BS instead of eating the rich. You want to know what SSs actual ethos is? Take a look at the kind of things JO and that other person running the company Tweet.

I live in a country that bought into this woke crap.

Here, if you go to anyone and ask their favorite color, they will refuse to answer. I am not exaggerating, I have tested this. They will not disclose their favorite foods, hobbies, nothing, because they have been drilled into thinking everything is wrong.

They have been scared shitless because of speech regulation.

They only will say what they think is okay to say by society's standards, and they are incapable of talking about themselves as individuals.
