I'm sure they'll get it back up eventually, but we won't see any sales as long as the site is down.

ShutterStock's aware of site issues today. They tweeted about it 3 hours ago (10:21 AM).

@KubrixDesign Would you mind DMing us your username? We'd like to look into your account and make this up to you.

One complaint from a buyer and he gets compensated but let their contributors down time and time again

The contributor area seems to be OK. It's the buyer's side that's completely down.

Sales started to get quite good there at SS for me and then suddenly stopped, don't know why but maybe they will come back...hard to say.  Ideally all three sites that I submit too would be going full throttle :)

This is really unacceptable. They have a downtime of 4h 27m today (the most for the year) so far with no resolution in sight. That's 4 hours more downtime than the norm for most tech companies.

Someone need to get fired because this affects contributors more than SS itself. They're still getting subscription payments, but they're losing out on on-demand sales as well...and that can add up to $50,000 - $100,000 for the day.

this is something i don't know even if it happens regularly. only that sales have been bad and spotty for a few months. i am wondering that our sales have gone down not because we are getting scr*wed by ss
but more so due to site being down more than usual.
if we can't get in or if the site is not up 100% or down in certain areas, it can explain why some of us are seeing a significant drop in sales.

does anyone know if it is only affecting certain countries??? most of my sales used to come from EC
and for the downtime, EC has not been buying from me. i wonder.

Spotty is a good word. I am desparate for a big fat sale before saturday just to meet my average. Right now i am $300 down. That much in one week has never happened for me from any one agency, except alamy, which isnt micro.

They're still getting subscription payments, but they're losing out on on-demand sales as well...and that can add up to $50,000 - $100,000 for the day.

How do you get that number?

How do you get that number?

Shutterstock 2nd Quarter Revenue is $104 Million. There are roughly 90 days in a quarter, so it comes out to about $1.15 million revenue per day. I know that most sales happen on weekdays, so it's higher than the estimated average...maybe as high as $1.3 million in revenue per weekday.

And since on demand sales makes up about 5-10% of sales for contributors, and Extended license sales to be much lower and they were down for 4.5 hours of sales prime-time, you get about $50,000 to $100,000 when you add up all those factors.

For the last two years shutterstock is down more than any other micro site. This is a regular occurrence.

I just got an apologetic email from SS. Everybody else must have too. Let's hope they're "on it" for real.

Our video clips are showing up but no images. On the contributor side, anyways. It looks pretty strange.

Definitely broken again. Can't get past page 1 of search results on the buyer side, and 90% of my images have disappeared on the seller side.

I guess it's a real miracle that I had some sales today.

Weird - mine is down more than 800 images from what it should be.  I assume it's a bug on the contributor side because it's been a good day for sales including an SOD for almost $70 just a few minutes ago.  As long as sales come in I don't care about some weirdness on the contributors side assuming they get it sorted out eventually.
