THIRD PHASE: JUN 29-JUL8

FOURTH PHASE: JUL 8-31

Russian speaking contributors are planning to disable their portfolios during 15-21 Jun period [and maybe even month period, tbd].
SO JOIN THE EFFORT, IF YOU DARE. STOP BEING SILENT SLAVES!

1] Stop uploading
2] Disable Image/Video sales during 15-21 Jun period or more, tbd -> Go to Account Settings, disable sales [see pic below]
3] Change your image avatar at stock site and their forum
4] Change description of your profile to smth: "Since June 2020, after huge royalties drop for contributors I have disabled my portfolio & will not continue until roayties will be reconsidered"
5] Remove all shutterstock related links from your sites, blogs, whatever
6] Spread info at social media
7] Downvote all their products, videos, applications on any marketplace
8] If you have contact with buyers, deliver this info to them, convince them to switch the stock
9] Upvote my post
10] Do i mention don't upload & deactivate your portfolio?

To prevent denial of service, when opting out on 15th,  i recommend not to do this simultaneously to smooth things out. Eg. Choose 12, 13, 14 or smth

LAST RESORT:
1] Put a direct link to your portfolio on rival microstock site [this action violates TOS]
2] Completely delete all images & profile

OFFICIAL SS REPLY TO PETITION: https://www.change.org/p/shutterstock-object-to-the-decline-in-shutterstock-s-contributor-earnings:
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. We hear your concern with the new earnings structure changes.
The decision to make these changes was not made lightly and was done with much consideration for all of our contributors.
Shutterstock aims to fairly compensate our contributors for the time and talent invested in the production of their work. [Looks like trolling]
Given the market has changed significantly since Shutterstock was founded in 2003, we have made changes to better reflect the current market.

SO IT'S LIKE:
"With all disrespect to all of you, f#ck you! We don't care about you, your family and you will continue to contribute [i estimate over 60% of continuators], you miserable slave. Live with it, piece of crap"

As you can see: low and unfrequent sales is a common thing now.

4] Change description of your profile to smth: "Since June 2020, after huge royalties drop for contributors I have stopped uploading my stuff to SS. For new/better stuff check me on [insert your fav site].
This is violates the TOS and may cause ban. So I would not recommend it. Especially, with links.

I've placed only the name of the site, no links.
You care about TOS? You know... F#CK it!

I will understand their move if they fully automate submission process. At least.
But all they do is cut the royalties and invent ranking reset.

I can't disable my portfolio as it's already disabled :)

We can keep harping on about the declining collection numbers - in spite of those who are still uploading (I looked at some this morning; the collection shrinks *in spite of* new uploads). This will capture all those who have already disabled their portfolios as well as those doing so June 15th

Upload halted.
Will disable ~15200 pix and small amount of abstract videos.

I disabled my portfolio on May 30th. I did update my profile photo with your .10 cent photo and added the new info to my bio.

I am referring people to dreamstime. I've always loved this company.

I'm in. 800+ videos.

Also recommend a couple Facebook groups to link up with more folks dedicated to pushing back on the Shutterstock commission cut (some of those people are here as well). We're stronger unified.

Argh Angela I know you can't afford doing this so respect to you and I will be joining you pretty soon.
I'm seeing all these talented people with their unique portfolio's dropping out, some with tens, even hundreds of thousands images or clips.
No matter what people say you can bet they will start to feel a slight sting that just won't go away and will get a lot worse!
And they still have to deal with the Russian community!
And if all this won't help then we'll put some h@ckers at work ;)

I just started creating a WIX website to put in my SS profile and guide people elsewhere and noticed you can directly add Shutterstock images. Then I remembered they have a contract together no?
So I find it very amusing that I will be creating a Wix website promoting anything but Shutterstock :)

ps. Angela your Dreamstime link doesn't work in your SS profile: http://www.dreamstime.com/haywiremedia
this is the right one: https://www.dreamstime.com/haywiremedia_info

Edit: whoops just noticed you removed your links here (buttons) so if not ok pls let me know and I will remove the above links

Thanks for letting me know about the link Snow :)

It's going to be really hard for me losing the income every month and they only gave us a 6 day notice! I wish they would have given contributors more time before rolling out the new royalties.

Please keep us posted on how WIX goes for you. I was thinking about doing Shopify but I'm not so great at the marketing side of things.

I stopped uploading new images in May.  Waiting to disable til I reach payout.  Can't wait!  Had a great sale of $0.11 today.  No thank you!!!  I wish I could disable individual photos... have some very good sellers that I have only photos on that area-- do NOT want them selling for $0.10.  Is there any way to delete single images?

Options/Catalog Manager -> find image you want to delete, move mouse cursor over it, click X

I had disabled mine already then realised I would not be paid so I have to wait until I reach payout to disable again. My sales have dropped so much that I wasn't at payout by end of May. It's not much money but better off in my pocket than theirs... I hate seeing those 10c sales though!! I have had one sale for $1.46 which would have been $2.48 previously  >:( >:(
