Today I opened one of my files that I submitted in the past to Shutterstock and I discovered some aesthetical problems. I fixed and now I plan to delete the file from Shutterstock and resubmit it with a note to reviewer explaining that I want to replace the file from the site with the file that I fixed. Is it okay to delete it and then resubmit with a note to reviewer or just leave it for the reviewer as a proof and let him delete it?

I have successfully done this a few times. My approach, which has worked every time, is this:

Don't delete the older image already up on SS. Leave it there for now.

Submit the new one with a note to the reviewer explaining that the image is already available on SS as #12345678, but that you've improved it in such-and-such a way. Tell the reviewer that if the new version is approved, you will delete the older version.

Wait until the new one is approved (assuming it is), then delete the original as promised.

Good luck!

I had similar situation - an image that was doing okay but someone else showed me how to improve the image (mostly cropping) and I decided to delete the original image and put in my updated one. I was very nervous due to removing a successful image and hoping my edited imaged would get accepted.  In the end it got accepted and it is on the first page of a category that has 70,000 images.

I've done it a few times. I followed the same process. Submit new one first, explaining that you will delete the old one if approved, then delete the old one after it's approved.

Smart move! I lost a nights sleep by deleting an image that was already selling and worrying what if my newer image was rejected...

There is a specific way that it is to be done or you could get warned!

You need a good reason, and permission, to delete and resubmit images.
