If you want to be accepted by Stocksy desaturate a little the colors of your photos and make them a little brownish that's all

+include some transgender santaclaus wearing a plastic horsehead, shot on kodak portra. They like to accumulate unique stuff that's guaranteed to make that 0.1 sale / year.

While a nice sarcastic joke, it's amazing how this hits home on so many levels. And not only for Stocksy. Others as well. I can speak of Getty too.

Make some images of transgender, gay, tattooed, bearded hipsters acting deranged, use some 95 year old grannies acting like they are 16 and making fool of themselves and woohoo life is good and so funny - and you're covered. Possibly even featured on some of their contributor newsletters.

Interesting.  I shoot macro and landscape, no grannies or hipsters, no people of any kind.  Bright to average colors.  Been with Stocksy for 6 years; best agency sales I've had in over 20 years of doing stock.

What am I doing wrong?  :)

I tried once and was rejected. Will not try again and I don't feel the urge to be somewhere where I'm not welcome. They will simply not have my work and that's fine.

It seems to be a very exclusive club.

You know, the kind of place where well-fed diners enjoy thick steaks and glasses of wine at tables beside windows where starving children press their noses to the glass.

I applied way back when they had their first open submission and was rejected.  Still today, I don't know what their criteria is. That's fine.  I am happy for Stocksy, though.  An agency that is mainly successful for contributors is rare today.  Now, I define success loosely because I have zero insights into their financial performance other than reading posts where artists in Stocksy appear happy with their sales.  I'll probably never be in "the club", but I do wish them long term sustainability.

i've been rejected by Offset TWICE, I don't have that attitude. I also don't have enough content to offer them as i have 2 other premium sites to contribute to, so it's a moot point right now,  but I would still be happy to be able to submit there.

I got into Stocksy on my 2nd try so don't give up after only one rejection.

Rejection is part of this business.....just received my 4th one from Offset.....finally got the hint though.

I got rejected by them too, but I have a hard time figuring out whether it was the topic of photos or the quality they did not like or something else entirely?

I don't shoot people, so I had no modern-style hipster photos to offer, but before I sent my sample images, I browsed their gallery and looked up what they had to offer with keywords of things I do shoot. My dogs are my bestsellers on most agencies, so I selected lots of these. Then  I picked photos where I thought I had better or at least as good photos of the similar subject to offer than what I saw on Stocksy.
Maybe I have a hard time judging my own photos objectively and maybe I am wrong, but I thought my photos were not worse than many of the ones they had on Stocksy. (Of some I didn't even think they were very good, many seemed extremely dark, but maybe that's part of the deliberate editing for Stocksy?)

So, anyone has any tips what I did wrong or should try next time I apply? I don't feel like trying to apply again if I have no clue what to improve on.

Don't bother people! neither Offset nor Stocksy will sell for much more then here and exclusivity is a stone-age concept of the past!

Nice pics, my brother had a dog like the one with cone hat, i think that breed of dog is miniature pinscher.
Do you have any idea how many photos sell on Stocksy average contributor ? They pay well ?
