Number of views explode in my portfolio after breaking news...

I will OPT IN!

P.S.

If, however, your Stockxpert "XXL" image falls below the pixel length range for an "Ultra", it will be available as a "Super" PPD and EL.

So!

Super (roughly XL on Stockxpert)

Our XL on StockXpert goes into EL!!

Am I wrong!?

At first look, I am pleased with these changes but still disappointed with 30 cents for subs downloads.  I don't understand why more people are not mentioning the fact that their subs commissions are lower than istock, SS, DT, FT and 123rf.  As their pay per download commissions are good, I would expect them to increase subs commissions.

The other big 6 sites have raised their prices this year while StockXpert has stuck with 30 cents.  It doesn't feel good making 28% less than SS on every subs download.

subs commissions again!!!

I still don't feel like opting-in after and amazing PPD week..

I will opt-in as soon as they increase the subs commissions.. but 30cents is not enough..

I am pleased for people who feel desperation to opt-in but this is still not fair..

I wish we stood for subs increase just like we did for ELs..

But I see happily bending knees on most contributors..

This is like we should have been in heaven.. But they only wanted to give us the world.. By showing us . first, they made us content with the world.. Now, they don't have to give us the heaven anymore??

They must be saying.. "The reaction is good, now these underpaid slaves will be quiet for another year while we eat all the extra subs commissions money.."

Yes, thanks StockXpert... Thank you for screwing us less..

It is not that I am not pleased.. I am.. Who would not want to be screwed less?!

This is fashionable now.. So, I will join you guys.. Thank you StockXpert.. You have been amazing.. I will shut up for a year now, and won't mention subs commissions just because you gave me my own rights to EL files..

I am sure this was the plan.. A way to not increase commission on subs.. "Let's just propose something totally unreasonable and then pull it back so while they are all mad they won't even mention subs.."

Great!!

Thank you StockXpert!!

Nobody forces you to opt-in for sub or to sell at StockXpert.

All seems fair enough to me. I'm happy. Life's too short. I've already ticked the boxes.

yeah, echo here about a thanks to StockXpert for listening to the contributors and to Steve for responding to comments and listening.

I too think this looks good now, so I will be opting back in and seeing if i get many sales from photos.com and StockXpert+  hopefully we should see how it goes fairly quickly as they are both established sites and if there are downloads they should be coming in fairly quickly.

One thing I did notice in the previous week (the first time i was ever opted out of subs) is that my sales didn't get hurt at all, i received a number of XL sales that I never received before...  so if there isn't very many sales at photos.com I will have to consider (and test) which makes more money.. geting extra sub sales, or getting XL downloads....
HOWEVER, the possibility of getting PPD sales on photos.com is also a great plus for that site so hopefully it works out to be considerably more profitable to be with photos.com

I just opted back in.

Like Leaf, though, I experienced a marked increase in L and XL sales after opting out.  Will have to see if the volume on Photos.com makes up for the loss of the XL sales.

To those who are still not happy with this deal because of subscription prices, I am fairly certain that after StockXpert sees how this collection will sell on photos.com they will probably raise subscription payouts.  Meanwhile they have left you the ability to opt out.

StockXpert have repeatedly shown good faith and willingness to work out equitable solutions.  Personally I feel they have met us more than halfway on this and deserve the benefit of the doubt.  I am happy to reward their efforts by opting in.

I have opted back into subs, but I must admit, it is with a bit of a sick feeling.  I hate to endorse 30 cents per download, but I will give this a whirl because I am grateful to StockXpert for not saying "our way or the highway" and I will see what happens.  Hopefully we can distinguish between the two plans in our sales reporting.

The rest of this post might be moot if the (c) has changed, if it did I missed it.

One thing that troubles me though is that images say "property of Photos.com" or "Jupiter Images".  Did I miss where this point changed at all, or are we still anonymous contributors to this program?  What about the name brands that everyone has worked so hard to build.

Are we anonymous so buyers cannot easily search our names on another site to find their ppd's for different prices?

But, when it comes to "search fairness" we will not all be equal?  The buyers won't be able to find a style they love - and click through to, say, Yuri's portfolio and shop there for more images.   Maybe the sales will be more evenly spread out?

I'm still uncomfortable if my Intellectual Property will be flogged without my name beside the copyright.

Paddy said on the conference call that a raise in commission will come further down the road.  StockXpert's subscription service is still less than a year old, and they want to give it more time so they can look at the numbers to see what's feasible.

Copyright of Images
As it relates to the ownership of your images, the EULA does state:

"The Image(s) are copyrighted and protected under the various laws of the United States, International treaties and other applicable laws. The Image(s) shall remain the sole and exclusive property of JUPITERIMAGES, or its licensors. Use of the Images is licensed, not sold, pursuant to the terms of this Agreement. Use of the Images without agreeing to this Agreement, or a breach of these Agreement terms, is copyright infringement."

We just want to clarify that YOU are the "or its licensors" it mentions. This part of the agreement simply means that no one can claim ownership or copyright on the images that are downloaded from any of the Jupiterimages family of websites.

Please note that we will be addressing the artist name on the image details page for copyright acknowledgment post-launch.

Thanks for that.  I guess the keywords then are:

Please note that we will be addressing the artist name on the image details page for copyright acknowledgment post-launch.

Hopefully post-launch means immediately after launch, and not a few years down the road.

Guys!! Dolls!!

Keep in mind that StockXpert is in no way reasonable!

Why do you keep thanking them just because they stopped being totally unreasonable!!

There is nothing to thank!

This is nothing new.. EL's can NOT be given away for 0.30cents anyway.. At least I wasn't gonna give them away like that no matter what StockXpert decides..

I am not thanking them just because they came to sense for not selling ELs for 0.30 cents..

What we should be discussing is the subs commissions..

OMG, how slave are you!

If you are trying to get people on side I suggest you start by not insulting them quite so much and follow up by not being quite so arrogant in you tone.

I was just trying to create some awareness!!

It was a noice surprise to see this news in my mailbox today.  However, I'll stay opted out because of my overall disagreement with the subs model.  Again, it's not about our commission, but about the incredibly cheap prices of subs images.

When I was still opted-in, I had one new image sold 4 times, only in subs.  Months later, I sold it other 5 times, making almost 10x what I earned in 4 subs.  Subs buyers won't buy credits just to buy my image?  I couldn't care less about these rapine birds.

Regards,
Adelaide

the cynic in me did wonder about this briefly, the trusty petrol company / government tactic, ie announce taxes going up 5% then just before it happens say no only 2% and everyone then says 'oh good' only 2%.  everyone was worried about el, so didn't argue with 30cents.

but that is being cynical and I prefer my optimistic, overly trusting and happy side :) hopefully in a little while we will see an increase :)
