I have not encountered one issue in my upgrade from 2.5.5 to 2.6.4 with pro, it all works fine, thus stable. I say this because I have a very basic site, without any custom stuff, so straight from the box, Symbiostock Pro is stable.

OK, so you really mean, stable for you. I think it's fair to say it's stable for most people. But there are some others besides me that have been having issues.  :)
There is no reason why it wouldnt work for others, if they use symbiostock as is.

I know you have a long term fight with Symbiostock, but I dont, and many others havent either. I am sorry you keep having issues. I hope it gets sorted soon.

I'm not saying its resolved. Also jean is having a hosting issue which I'm following up on as well.

Actually you have a very good idea! I'm going to "roll back" your site real quick to see if it does work with the older version.

I think you are mistaking me for someone else. I have had minor issues with things, like everyone else, until 2.5.5. That was stable for me. Update to 2.5.6 was stable for me. Purchases have gone through just fine for months now, in fact I haven't had issues with that before at all. Not sure what you mean by "long term fight with Symbiostock."

But I do agree with you when you say "I hope it gets sorted soon."  ;)

Leo, can we take my issue back over to the Problems with 2.6.4 thread so others can follow the progress? It will get lost in this thread. Thanks.

BTW keep refunding my tests purchases so my wife doesn't kill me.

With the rollback to 2.5.5 (2.5.6 simply fixed uploader/hosting issue) the cart does not drop purchases to the download area.

Here is all the "clues" the the puzzle so far.

  • Firebug shows that all necessary post data is being submitted to paypal.
  • Paypal's developer (fake) transaction works perfectly. Its meant to be a mirror-image of the real system. (Tests work in sandbox, not in paid environment for you)
  • Rolling back to 2.5.5 - problem persists. Download not given.
Thats what I have so far. I'll keep noodling it. In the meantime can you check your IPN is turned off? Just in case its hijacking the process (unlikely, but just to make sure)

No, I don't get downloads. What I mean is your site is not doing it in this version or the rolled back version.

The last thing we can do is see if the IPN is going through at all (I suspect its not) simply by having the IPN script located in /symbiostock_ipn/ write a text document of the results. Its an annoying processes, but I'll do that quickly and update you. After that I'll have to depart for a bit to the other issues.

For a couple of months, I've gotten this message when trying to upload:  "You browser doesn't have Flash, Silverlight, Gears, BrowserPlus or HTML5 support."  Somebody suggested deactivating plugins until the issue was resolved.  I tried it with no success.  I've just been uploading to the uploads folder, but now that has disappeared.  The "pluload" part of "/home1/dannyhoo/public_html/hookstockimages/wp-content/plupload/uploads/" is gone.  I'm not able to upload anymore.  Any ideas?
Update to latest version then turn the theme off then on again. That action runs the installer which should update your folder.

That process worked perfectly for me a few days ago.

no, it's stable, period.  stable doesn't mean there are no bugs. - as leo explained, no software is ever 100% bugfree.  and when people are using different browsers, hosts, etc it can be hard even to know where the problem is.

stability means most people are able to use the program and that's bee true since v2.5

same here -- I had some conceptual problems getting collections to work, but that wasn't a bug but a misunderstanding of a feature.   for me, colllections are a giant step forward.

Short feedback from me:
Working with the most recent versions of the theme and the premium update, everything seems to be stable here. I uploaded, processed and edited a new file and a friend of mine just did a test purchase of an extended license ... everything worked like it should ... cheers, Leo  :)
