I am looking at the table on the side and see veer is listed 7th.

I then compare it to my own experience and veer is 13th. In other words, first from the bottom. The only explanation I find for this is the fact that I am selling vectors and at veer I can not sell cheaper raster versions. The only option for buyers is the 20 credit EPS file.

How are other illustrators doing at veer?

Is it only me or does veer really underachieve for us, illustrators?

I know Brian is reading this forum and I am hoping they are planning a solution.

37 images, 4 vector sales... I rarely check my stats over there, big time underachiever

If you only upload 37 images, what do you expect?  I did that with a few sites and had very low sales, they were much better when I had uploaded over 500.

I've had 18 sales so far and one was an extended sale. I am looking forward to raster downloads being added to our files. Dash for Cash was a great motivator. Veer has made several beneficial changes to the site since marketplace started. Hopeful rasters for vectors is high up in the queue.

This indeed is a problem.
It has been brought to Veer attention already.
We can only hope they'll act on it, sooner rather than later.

Come on Thomas, more! Upload more :)
For now do it for the collection alone, upload your port, help Veer climb up the ladder. Sales will come in time (hopefully).
We have to try to stop IStock's 15% horror from spreading around.
It's in our hands. One step at a time.
Give Veer a chance, if you can :)

I'm in the same boat. High hopes, but disappointing sales. It's been about a year since we uploaded thinking there would be rasterized vectors made available. I just haven't had the free time to create raster versions of my whole portfolio and upload them myself. Maybe I should have made it a priority... if I'd known it would be this long, maybe I would've. But instead of continuing to upload there, I've uploaded to a couple of other sites who performed that service for me. One of them has done very well, and the other it's too soon to say.

Still hoping for good things from Veer. I do like them. Glad to hear some photographers are having increased sales. Mine have increased but still way too few to get very excited about at all.

I do mostly vectors, although some 3D renders too. Veer has been doing better for me lately. $185 last month, BME.  And that is with 106 images in pending for a long, loing time, due to the Dash for Cash stampeded. If those ever get reviewed, this month might be better than last, the way it's going.

I really like Veer, actually. Now that the vector submission system is working well, Veer has about the easiest uploading this side of GL.

some of my vector had appeared as very small thumbnail, i don't what is wrong and it seems veer use a system to generate eps vector to thumbnail jpg.. all my vectors are displayed okay for the rest of website.

There are a lot of people that probably submit to the top 6 plus veer (because they were going to be the next best thing, backing of corbis and all that.)

This would slant the poll on the right towards Veer against some other the other low earners.

eg I don't contribute to crestock, deposite photo, graphic leftover and hence don't rank them

What I'm trying to say that there are less people voting for the agencies down the bottom end and hence the accuracy of the results aren't as good as the top 4.

Not so sure about that. Canstock for example has been around for a long time and I am sure more people contribute to canstock than veer. I mean my numbers doesn't even compare.

Let's say (with fictional numbers) I am making 10 on canstock, 8 on graphicleftovers, 7 on Crestock.

On veer I am making 1 or 2. It is that BAD. That is too much of a difference. We, illustrators, definitely do not get benefit of raster images.

I am a UK member and the price for vector files in the UK site is 20 which is about $30. Great for my vector file. I am loving that it has some value on veer. But I am also sure that not every customer has $30 to burn on digital images. They should definitely keep that price as it is. But also should add raster versions.

Oh and I am wondering if I would get more than $7 if one of my illustrations sold for $30 in the UK?

That is another question...

I was wondering, if we do happen to have high resolution jpgs of our illos can we upload them so that the smaller raster sizes are available?  I am/was about to start uploading there today (all illustration) but I'm a little concerned about this and the resale license that you can't opt out of.

Eta: Sorry for OT question!

Dont you think your undercutting yourself if you sell your vectors as rasters? I guess it might depend on what type of vectors you create. Early on at istock, i came up on this dilemna and decided not to sell my vectors as rasters as they were eating away at my vector sales which were a lot more profitable. This is also important to best match placement on it since i couldnt afford my vectors to keep sliding down the placement due to the same raster images selling for cheaper. Again, it really depends on the type of vectors you create anyways.

I'm honestly not sure yet as I've never tried it. iStock was very strict about rejecting any raster illustration that looked like it was built in a vector program and I've had several requests from clients in the past for making just raster versions available.  On the other hand on places like SS getting a subscription royalty for a fully editable vector seems weird to me.  Ahh, sorry for hijacking this thread a little.

On topic I emailed support at Veer last night and was told that they are still planning to offer vectors with raster sizes in the future and that we can submit our own JPEG versions as well as the EPS.

Rasters are a looot cheaper than EPS on veer...
At the begining I only sent JPGs...
It took a while, but then I realized that JPG's were too cheap,
it seemed like I was undercuting myself...I'm not exclusive on IStock,
I may start sending EPS there. Sales there are slow and low...but since
EPS cost more it may be better.
