So here's another way to shoot ourselves in the foot?
I don't know if I have had any Russia sales ever, but I won't ask my work to be boycotted.

Edited to add: Much prefer Dreamstime's take on this.

you prefer a take where you do not have a choice?  Alamy gave people a choice what to do, you still want to sell to Russia, No Problem, You don't fine we will limit it.  In fact this is the opposite of #CancelCulture, this is Freedom of Choice.

No, and you know it.

Even if, as I said above, I don't want any blood money from Russia.
Chill down a bit Zero. I am just asking you a question because you state literally that you won't see it but it doesn't say it's not being sold. So what is it they do actually at Alamy's?

And do you know, that you are almost hijacking these whole site with your Ukraine frustration, right?

They restrict sales based on geography as explained by the OP.
You can't see things that don't exist.

I also said that you have no reason to laugh out loud because even if I alone don't get money from Russia, I don't care because I don't want to have anything to do with Russian blood money.

I also suggested that you better do some good, instead of laughing:
https://novaukraine.org/
Btw, donations to Ukrainian charities were also suggested on the same forum and topic indicated by the OP. They proposed to donate to: https://www.dec.org.uk/

This is no hijacking, but strictly on topic.

How low IQ a man get get... You are just perfect example of childish person with full of anger. And since you brainwashed people around here helping Ukraine, I'll help Russians. The ones who were killed during 8 year war.

Check out their site. Dreamstime informs that ..."Dreamstime ....  will donate 5% of our revenue," meaning they don't take it from us. So it is THEIR share, THEIR choice.

Not quite sure how you can help those deceased Russians.
Putin will be ecstatic you want to help him; he's welcoming people like you to go and support his army.

Many American companies are pulling out of Russia... but stock companies are not.

I would like to opt out right now.  I have been selling a lot of photos right now that I suspect might be being used, if they are sold in Russia/China, to creating false news to blame Ukraine for things RUssia has done/might do.

Generally I have accepted that I cannot control the use of my images if I sell on stock.  But given the fact that most US companies ARE pulling out of Russia AND that I can see some of my images being misused to accuse Ukraine of war crimes, I am not happy.

I don't want to minimize the fact that the Russian regime may also be using stock photos to misrepresent facts.

But I think we all need to be aware that all our images serve advertising purposes. Advertising generally works in such a way that images are manipulated - in both a positive and negative sense.

I don't want to know how much fraud has already taken place with stock images and how many billions of dollars have ended up in the wrong hands through our images.

If you want to exclude this, you have to give up the stock business in general and look for another field of activity.

To ouatedeP:

The whole point of selling photos via stock agencies is to sell them. So I see no problem there.

Generally speaking -
This cancel culture is making people far too neurotic. People are now seeing evil everywhere. At first it was about boycotting Russian companies and businesses. Now, it is boycotting even your own photo business.

If your neighbor commits a crime, will YOU have to go to the prison?

What about images on free sites? On personal websites? There are zillions of images online ready to be copied for free. Most of them will be Ok for blogs and news. If anybody wants to prevent photos being misused, don't post them ANYWHERE. Not on your personal website, not social media.

But, the thing is, you are not virtue signalling if you stop posting pics in your social.... and Virtue Signalling is the King.

Stop thinking...

This is really a great idea that moves humanity forward. Thank you for this great tip.

 :o

We are on the brink of disaster. For all of humanity. Because a few idiots think they have to impose their ego. And so the rest of the people should not think about it.

I like to repeat myself.

The West is certainly not as great as it pretends to be - no question.

For many years, for example, I have been annoyed by the question of why the rating agencies have so much power and why they apparently only exist in the USA. Which, in case of doubt, can decide the economic future of each state on the planet. That is not in order. Because that can lead to fierce abuse.

I'm also not at all convinced that the West always informs its citizens correctly - there are lies in our countries, too.

But in this current situation, one fact should be completely out of the question: Russia attacked Ukraine. Not the other way around. Russia wants war and a subjugated Ukraine. And there is no political, social or economic right to it!!!

There is exclusively a personal interest of Putin, who - for whatever reasons - wants a place in the history books and a satisfaction of his vanity and his personal desire for power. Is that worth a third world war?

Yes indeed, Wilm.

komikmiha doesn't need thinking.
For him, it's more convenient to delegate the thinking to Putin's ministry of public enlightenment and propaganda.
He now believes that copy-pasting their speaking points is a sign of intelligence.  ::)

PS. One comment: the rating agencies are built on trust.
Nothing prevents a successful rating agency to be created in Germany, for example, as long as it manages to gain the trust of the financial world.

A lot of russians are leaving their country through Finland, before their country goes back to what it was during communism.. a prison !!

Awful to punish Russian people and businesses simply because of their nationality. Plenty of Russians disagree with the war, but cancel culture seems to be normal nowadays.

In the Netherlands there are stories of Russian supermarkets being harassed, Russian children bullied at school, people on the street being yelled at because they 'look or sound Russian'. In fact, a woman from Moldova was scolded for speaking Romanian (which sounded Russian to the Dutchman who yelled at her). In their misguided anger, people have lost their minds.

I can not understand: millions of Russians are fleeing "Putin's prison" to go to countries where their businesses, money and properties are going to be confiscated just because their only fault is being Russian. Where is any logic?

By the way: "a lot of" - is it dozens? Hundreds? Thousands? Billions? Where do you get your statistics from? Don't offer FB posts though.

And, to my knowledge, Russian - Finnish border was closed for a long time, due to pandemic and has not been opened yet. How can millions flee through closed border?

Google is Our Friend:
https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/news/russians-leaving-their-country-for-finland-due-to-fear-of-isolation
"Since the start of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, a high number of persons have been leaving the latters territory.
While some said that they are leaving Russia due to the sanctions imposed by EU countries, others said that they are leaving Russia as there has been a rumour that Vladimir Putting plans to introduce martial law in order to deal with the protests that the citizens are making against the invasion of Ukraine, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports."

And, to my knowledge, Russian - Finnish border was closed for a long time, due to pandemic and has not been opened yet. How can millions flee through closed border?

Your 'knowledge' needs updating:
https://www.helsinkitimes.fi/finland/finland-news/domestic/21133-numerous-of-russians-sought-to-leave-russia-for-finland-last-weekend.html
"YLE and Helsingin Sanomat wrote last weekend that in the coming days there are virtually no available seats on VRs Allegro trains from St. Petersburg to Helsinki.
Allegro is presently the only regular rail connection from Western Russia to Europe, according to YLE. VR stated to the public broadcasting company that it is looking to increase services on the route due to the high demand, "

https://yle.fi/news/3-12345301
Ah, numbers:
"Thousands of Russians are leaving their country in fear of the authorities declaring martial lawa move that would close borders and stifle domestic dissent."

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-60697763

25,000 has already fled to Georgia 5 days ago, estimates were 200,000 total at that time. Obviously lots more by now.

Ordinary Russians arent having their property confiscated. Only very few oligarchs with connections to the regime. IMHO even these people wont really have much done to them in the end (sadly). Take a look at the UK government's big words after Russia's assassination plus murder of a British citizen on British soil vs what they actually did, almost nothing.

LOL just tried to track down who you were arguing with earlier in thread who said millions are fleeing. Did you really just make up a figure of millions then argue against your own number?

Dear friends, so that everything falls into place for everyone, watch the official performance on the central Ukrainian TV. The journalist quoted the Nazi criminal Eichmann. All questions should disappear, with whom, who and why.

I won't post a link to the video. If you're interested, find it yourself.
