Just noticd something when editing the uploads. If you select a category, you will get a list of keywords. You can select multiple and add them to your own keywords.

I know that those with low sales shouldn't throw stones BUT this from their front page has me wondering
"After your images have been uploaded and approved, we'll buy them. Your account will be credited with $25 right away! "
Does we'll buy them mean that they are paying you ten cents an image to use the image however they see fit?  Afterall, according to their website thy just "bought" 250 of your images for $25.00

They changed this. Now we read :
"After your images have been uploaded and approved your account will be credited with $25 right away! "
I've tried to remove one of my images (just testing). It doesn't work! I've stopped uploading.

May I suggest to have this thread's subject changed to the site's name? I'm changing it in my post, I'm not sure it will work.

It was fixed. They are fast. Now we can remove our images.

hi,

today, i reached the 100 club :)
i think its a site its worth to get a chance, i like it, that the site also spend money to get photos. so i think they know what they do.

and they are very fast with approving :-)
and they take nearly 100%,
only the IPTC data dont apear at all pictures, so i have to make it manuel for 48 files.....

join it, i think its worth

Did anyone get any sales from them yet?

Yes, if you sort a search by "most downloaded" you can see it. Some sales don't seem to be realistic, seem to be from the testing phase. SY

I started uploading yesterday, first just 6 images, today 50.  Really simple and fast, and some images uploaded tonight were already reviewed.  No rejections so far (what is not necessarily good - let's see what happens to a couple of not-too-good ones I uploaded tonight).

Adelaide

Any one had sales yet?
or had referrees who have had sales?
or referred AndreR (or anyone else in the 100 club)?

sharpshot

I am in the 100 club.  No sales yet but still made more than with all my time with FP and could catch LO without making a sale.  Just need to find enough photos to get the $250 extra cash.  Better get out and take some :)

hospitalera

I am in the 100 club (referred by ajn) and have referred andresr (gracias amigo ;-) As far as I now he hadn't had any sales so far, SY

Peiling

SY, you are one lucky girl....kekeke.....with Andresr signed up under you, you don't have to sell a thing....

sharpshot

Still no sales yet but I see that others are selling a few.  I think they are probably building up the images before pushing for buyers.  They are going to be a big site if they continue as they have started.  I estimate they have around 90,000 images already.

Is anyone else having issues with IPTC data.  I have had a high fail rate.  I think a lot of the problem is that my description doesn't fit their criteria (25-250 characters) so it has deleted it.

??? ??? :'( :'(

I haven't had any problems with IPTC data. I uploaded over 250 last week and all look ok.

However, I haven't had a single image viewed yet, never mind downloaded!

I am curious to know how long this site has been and will remain in the 'building up its portfolio' phase before it intends to start being more pro-active in its marketing.

Yeah, I doubt any image has sold 51 times, much less two.

The most sold picture on LO only had about 22 sales last I checked. But there are some sales trickling in.

madelaide

IPTC data in description fails if the description has more than 250 characters.

One odd thing that happens to me is that parenthesis are not allowed.  However if I upload images with parenthesis in the description and the description reads fine, they're accepted.  But if I have to edit the description like when it's over 250 characters, then I can't use parenthesis.

Hi!

Yes, their IPTC parsing algorithm seems to be a bit strict. Out of ~900 photos which I uploaded yesterday, 50-100 did not make it because this strict IPTC parsing algorithm. I will not spend the time to update the description manually and I will not change the IPTC data and re-upload, so that's simply 50-100 photos less from me which they will get.

If they see that the field is too long, simply cut it and add "..." at the end. Better than no photo at all.

Just my two (Euro) cent,
Michael

Hi again,

Generally I have to say that Albumo did everything right for a startup site. A very streamlined upload process including an easy way to assign model releases. Additionally a reward for uploading photos. They made me uploading a large part of my portfolio and I'm now part of their Albumo's 100 program. If they continue that way then I think they will become one of the more succesful stock agencies.

Definitely a nice start...I should probably add them to Microstock Monitor...hmmm ;-)

All the best,
Michael
