curious how "everything" happened in the last 48h..

1 - Yuri website/agency "leaked out" and oppened before time
2 - iStock raised exclusives pricing
3 - SS has a new logo

all seems good so far  ;)

got feeling that not only the logo changes at SS

It's interesting how istock, fotolia and dreamstime were all busy at cutting our commissions to "stay competitive" but did nothing to rethink themselves. At the same time Shutterstock was working hard at reinventing their brand with the help of the worlds best creative agencies without the need pick in our pockets, all while being the best earner for most of us!

Exactly. This is a branding initiative, not just a logo re-do. There are some cool images in this article showing some of the ways that the new brand can be applied in a variety of ways to different things, from workspaces to advertising to t-shirts and more.

Notice how they don't stick with red in all applications.

I do not like it one bit. Messy, lot's of small print. Much fewer nice images. Hard read.
Bad choices. I will bet they will change this over time. :)

Congrats on the IPO however.

I think it looks great.  Clean, simple, catchy.  The video is very impressive.  An all around great job in my opinion.

Oh! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I like simplicity and clarity. I thought I must just be out of touch with the spirit of the age, but since you are clearly well in touch with it I guess the old rules still have merit.
